Obedience Isn’t Always Easy

On July 23, 2020, I wrote the following in my journal—

“Do what God tells you to do when He tells you to do it. No questions asked.”

I went on to write about the different assignments God had given me to do that day, and I did them without question. Some were pretty big, and again, I did them without question. I never asked, “Are you sure?” or “Is this You, God, or me talking?” No, I just obeyed.

Fast-forward to today. Over the years, I have been given numerous assignments/tasks. Some of which I never questioned, while others I couldn’t stop questioning. Some pulled at my heartstrings, and some at my purse strings. However, in the end, I was always obedient.

Y’all, I never knew what my “Yes” or obedience would entail. I just wanted to be a vessel that God could use. Sometimes life throws me some ugly curveballs because of my obedience, but I still stand. I know that God is with me, and I know I am covered.

Obedience isn’t always easy. However, I am more than certain that my obedience will be worth it in the end because I trust God and I know He loves me.

Be obedient, even when it hurts. The reward will be worth it. Trust God.
