8 Years

Good Morning ☀️

I got you, Shaun!🥰

Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of memories from my Research Diva–RD days. It makes me wonder what life would be like had I not let things rattle me to the point that I ran and hid? Because, honestly, that’s exactly what I did. I was still moving about and interacting as if everything was the same; however, inside, I wasn’t the same person. I had lost almost all of my confidence, and no matter what I did to rebuild it, it only made me feel more inadequate, especially when I started working on my doctorate. I also tried changing directions completely by playing around with Marketing. For a while, I was all over the place. Sighing

Now, here I am, eight years later, more confident than I was a few years ago; however, not nearly as confident as I was back then. I rarely—almost never—think about what could’ve been, but today, I wonder.

Have you ever lost your confidence to the point where you retreated and hid? If so, how did you regain it?

By the way, I did find Gunsmoke (see last post), but decided to watch Leave It To Beaver instead.☺️

I pray you had a restful night. May your day be filled with love, light, hope, and peace.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Ugh… I Want To Talk

What do you do when you’re wide awake at 2:00 AM and want to talk? Do you talk to yourself?😅

I don’t talk on the phone much. I’d rather text than talk. However, every now and then, I actually want to hear another’s voice. 😩

I’ll tell you who I could call no matter the hour, and they’d talk like it was high noon—maybe I should turn on the tv and watch a couple of episodes of Gunsmoke…🤭 Anyhoo, as I was saying, there was one person I could call no matter the time, and that was my momma. When I tell you she’d talk until the sun came up. Y’all, she could talk for hours!

I guess writing is the alternative right now. No response, but at least I feel like I’m talking to someone, not just myself. For those in the U.S., I hope you’re sleeping well (I fell asleep much too early last night😩). For those abroad, have a wonderful day!

Now let me turn on the tv and see if I can find an episode of Gunsmoke.♥️

Good Night

Listen, Take The Leap

Good Morning ☀️

Several years ago, there was a video trending on social media with a little boy saying to his mom, “Listen, Linda. Listen.” Well, that’s exactly what I’m saying to you, “Listen, [insert your name], listen! It’s time to take that leap!

Yes, it’s time. You’ve been contemplating for far too long. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that the situations and circumstances you keep waiting for to change rarely change before you leap. The only thing that seems to change is your mindset. Believe me, once your mind is ready, you’re ready. And that’s when life changes.

Take the leap!

I pray you have a fabulous day! May it be filled with an abundance of love, peace, joy, and laughter—yes, remember to laugh!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Y’all, This Is So Random

I was searching for something to share for my final post of the day, but I couldn’t find anything besides past Veterans Day posts. However… I did find this!

“Stop blowing them bubbles!”😒🤣😭

When I tell you I burst out laughing! Listen, if you know, you know.😂😂😂

Y’all, I really needed that laugh!

Overall, today turned out to be a great day. As I said in my earlier post, I am truly blessed. Blessed to be a veteran.

I hope your day has been as lovely as mine.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

**On a serious note, I really need to go through my phone and start deleting random screenshots and photos. I mean, why is this even saved in my phone? Shaking my head, laughing.

God Bless The U.S.A.

Good Morning ☀️

It took me a while to decide what to share this morning, or even if I’d share anything at all. Today is the first day in my military history (now retired) that I don’t feel like celebrating Veterans Day. For ages, I looked forward to our special day. It always felt like Christmas. So many “freebies” and recognition. However, this year, there’s this sinister gloom that seems to be overshadowing any celebration that should be taking place. Y’all, think about it, we no longer have a Department of Defense but a Department of War. Sadly, we are becoming our worst fears.

I’ll end my current thoughts here. Today will be a good day.

I love this picture of me. I am so proud of that 18 year old who entered the military for all the wrong reasons, but came out proud to serve and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. This morning, the song that came to mind when I saw this picture was Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” The song says—

I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

I still and forever will love this land.🇺🇸

Happy Veterans Day to my fellow veterans. If you can, connect with a veteran and reminisce about the good old days. Laugh, smile, pat each other’s backs, salute, and give lots of hugs. Thank you so much for your dedication, service, and sacrifices. They were not in vain.🫡

Enjoy your day!

Shaun
