Obedience Isn’t Always Easy

Good Morning!☀️

I hope all is well with you.🌸

On July 23, 2020, I wrote the following in my journal—

“Do what God tells you to do when He tells you to do it. No questions asked.”

I went on to write about the different assignments God had given me to do that day, and I did them without question. Some were pretty big, and again, I did them without question. I never asked, “Are you sure?” or “Is this You, God, or me talking?” No, I just obeyed.

Fast-forward to today. Over the years, I have been given numerous assignments/tasks. Some of which I never questioned, while others I couldn’t stop questioning. Some pulled at my heartstrings, and some at my purse strings. However, in the end, I was always obedient.

Y’all, I never knew what my “Yes” or obedience would entail. I just wanted to be a vessel that God could use. Sometimes life throws me some ugly curveballs because of my obedience, but I still stand. I know that God is with me, and I know I am covered.

Obedience isn’t always easy. However, I am more than certain that my obedience will be worth it in the end because I trust God and I know He loves me.

Be obedient, even when it hurts. The reward will be worth it. Trust God.

I pray that you have one of the best days yet. May it be filled with love—the unconditional, I love you for YOU kind—peace, harmony (not sure where that came from😁), joy and favor.♥️

I love you always,

Shaun

Smile, It’s Already Done

Whatever you needed God to handle, know that it’s handled. It’s already done.

Whatever the enemy tries to throw at you now is out of desperation.

Exhale.

Give God the glory.

And move forward in peace and with grace.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

**This message is not only for you, but it’s for me, too. The enemy is busy, but my God is mighty! Still singing, “How great is our God.” Amen

There Is None Like Our God

There is no one like our God. He is the Only true, living God. All praises to Him for His everlasting love, mercy, and grace.

We are blessed, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Please stay connected with God. Never leave His presence because He will never leave yours.🙏🏽♥️

Love you,

My Journey With God, No. 110

Good Morning!☀️

Woke up singing, “How great is our God. Sing with me. How great is our God. And all will see. How great, how great is our God.”

Every day, I wake up expecting something great to happen, something besides—living to see another day, random small opportunities, or a victory here and there for humanity. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sincerely grateful for them all. However, I would like to experience something great like rivers parting like the Jordan (been reading the book of Joshua in the Bible).

Joshua 3:5. Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”

Hmmm… So maybe consecration is the key.

Just thinking…

How often do we expect great things to happen but fail to consecrate (dedicate) ourselves to God? In other words, we expect great things from God, but what do we offer Him?

I’m still expecting great things to happen because God is great. However, this does make me think about my commitment to God. How dedicated am I? Not because I want to experience His unexpected greatness, but because I truly revere Him.

God, thank You for loving me.♥️

In Disbelief

Wheeewww…

Looked at my phone and saw a notification that Malcom Jamal Warner (Theo from The Cosby Show) had passed. He was 54.

Death…

I just watched The Cosby Show marathon last weekend.

I’m numb.

I feel like I felt when I heard Aaliyah and Lisa Lopes (Left Eye from TLC) had passed.

Death stings.

It hurts.

He was only two years older than me.

I remember when Andy Griffith died. My grandgodmother said everyone she knew was gone. Her son had passed a few years earlier, and it devastated her. However, there was something about Andy (Matlock) dying that made her extremely sad. She stopped eating and wouldn’t get out of bed. Sadly, she stopped living. Andy died on July 3, 2012, and she died on August 1, 2012.

Now… I’m not that sad. Nowhere near it, but I understand. There’s something about someone so close to your age dying suddenly. Especially when it feels like they were part of your everyday life. Momma Kate (my grandgodmother) watched The Andy Griffith Show and Matlock every day for years. When he died, something in her died too.

Praying for Malcom’s family, friends, and his fans. I grew up with Theo. Never, ever expected to hear this. Not him.

Thank you for allowing me to share. I’m trying to do better with getting my feelings of grief out instead of keeping them bottled up. I feel much better than I did when I began writing.🙏🏽

It’s who we are.♥️
