Obedience

April 2, 2025

Obedience.

I had forgotten that I shared this message on this day last year, until I read last year’s journal entry. At the time, I had a post scheduled but heard to reschedule that post for a later time and schedule this one in its place. Here’s what I wrote:

“By this time it was around 4:20 and almost time for the post to be published. That’s when I heard, “Obedience—Obedience is better than sacrifice.” And guess what, I already had a graphic created for the exact post I needed. By 4:30, I had found the scripture (1 Samuel 15:22), and wrote one sentence—“Be obedient, especially when you don’t understand.” And I definitely didn’t understand but I was obedient.”

The post I was referring to is “Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice.”

As I suggest in the post, it’s not on us to understand God’s instructions. It’s on us to carry them out.

Today’s message is be obedient.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Navigating Life

I recently tried to reset my life by disconnecting and, to some extent, isolating myself from the world I had created. I wanted to go back to my pre-social media era, when my life was simple—less noisy and complicated. I wanted to go back to when sitting on the porch and people watching was the highlight of my day. I replaced scrolling through my timelines with listening to nature, listening to music, and watching episodes of Murder, She Wrote, Columbo, Leave it to Beaver, and Girlfriends. I know, strange mix. I sent emails to inform people of my unavailability and canceled appointments and meetings.

I just needed to sit and be.

I needed to think about life, about the world I had created, and the world I’m currently creating.

I needed the calmness. I needed the peace of just being.

Today, my very short, much-needed break is over. If tomorrow weren’t Good Friday, I would have taken one more day for myself. But now, I have to jump back into the real world. The world I, Shaun, created. Will it be less noisy? Definitely not! I have a million and one things I need to do. But I needed the break.

Time to get moving!♥️

Today’s Word Is…

April 2, 2024

Yes… Persevere!

On April 2, 2024, I wrote the following when I shared the word “Persevere”—

“No matter how many setbacks you have, keep trying. No matter how many times you have to restart, keep starting. Keep dreaming. Keep creating. Keep building. PERSEVERE! In time, everything you once dreamed will be your reality.”

Persevere until every beautiful dream you’ve ever dreamed comes to fruition. Then, dream even more.

Never stop dreaming.

Never stop creating.

Never stop believing.

Your dreams will happen.♥️

I love you,

Shaun
