Good Morning ☀️
It took me a while to decide what to share this morning, or even if I’d share anything at all. Today is the first day in my military history (now retired) that I don’t feel like celebrating Veterans Day. For ages, I looked forward to our special day. It always felt like Christmas. So many “freebies” and recognition. However, this year, there’s this sinister gloom that seems to be overshadowing any celebration that should be taking place. Y’all, think about it, we no longer have a Department of Defense but a Department of War. Sadly, we are becoming our worst fears.
I’ll end my current thoughts here. Today will be a good day.

I love this picture of me. I am so proud of that 18 year old who entered the military for all the wrong reasons, but came out proud to serve and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. This morning, the song that came to mind when I saw this picture was Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” The song says—
I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
I still and forever will love this land.🇺🇸
Happy Veterans Day to my fellow veterans. If you can, connect with a veteran and reminisce about the good old days. Laugh, smile, pat each other’s backs, salute, and give lots of hugs. Thank you so much for your dedication, service, and sacrifices. They were not in vain.🫡
Enjoy your day!
Shaun
Entered for the wrong reasons, but God; His love and grace molding your heart for a season! Blessings to you!

Thanks, Warren. Yes, for the wrong reason, but it worked out in my favor. God is good!

I can only imagine what the above feels like as someone who served this country. None of us should be experiencing what the USA has become, but our service-people DEF should not when they’ve served this country.
It’s mind-blowing. *Sighs*
I’m staying home today, mentally, I just don’t have the strength to endure people today.

Good Morning, trE!
Yes! Please take care of YOU.🙏🏽 Enjoy your day of solitude. From what I see, the East Coast is experiencing a cold front, which makes it the perfect day to stay home and read a good book—I already know you have a few.😊
Make today yours!💕🌸

I am going to do just that. Please believe me. Yes, it’s freezing right now, 28°. I’m going to pick up breakfast and coffee and come home and sit and eat it in my bed (something I haven’t done in decades).
I’m emotionally distraught, missing my baby girl a lot this week.
Thank you. Enjoy your day, too, as much as you can.
