Why Am I Wide Awake?

I hate it when I fall asleep before 9:00 PM because I end up awake after midnight and not able to fall back asleep. Right now, it’s almost 2:30 AM, and I’ve watched the NAACP speeches I missed, looked at the red carpet photos, checked updates on the chaos in the Middle East, read past journal entries, wrote an entry, scheduled my first post (not this one), and prayed. What else is left to do besides write? I’m all YouTubed out (can’t watch another video right now). I guess I could read, but I’m not in the mood to finish the books I’ve started. And then there’s the second half of Bridgerton that I have yet to start, but I’m not feeling it at the moment. I wish Club Quarantine was still around. D-Nice knew how to keep us entertained in the wee hours of the morning. D-Nice, come back!😂

Anyhoo… Just felt like writing/talking/something! UGH!!!😩

Let me roll over and close my eyes. Maybe sleep will find me.

Good Night/Morning♥️

Blessings Received

I’m really loving this color! I’ve used it several times. I guess it’s teal reason.☺️

This post is a continuation of my last one, “Claiming It? Nah, Owning It!” In the middle of writing, I stopped to create the image above. I was going to add it at the end, but then decided the message needed its own post. So, here it is.

For years—basically, most of my life—I have asked God for blessings and “claimed” them before reception. However, after I received the blessings, I never fully embraced them, and definitely didn’t own them. For some reason, I always felt the blessings could be stripped away as quickly as they were received.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m moving forward with a new mindset. The blessings I receive are mine. It’s time I own them.

Thanking God for my blessings. Thankful that what He gives, He doesn’t take back. Now, we can be careless and lose them—because we must take care of our blessings—but whatever He gives is ours.

Receive and own your blessings because they are truly yours. Yes, they’re YOURS!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Claiming It? Nah, Owning It!

February 28, 2024

Growing up, I was led to believe I had to first overcome some sort of difficulty before receiving a blessing. Although I shared the message in the image above two years ago, I still operated under the thought that I had to struggle for a while before receiving blessings.

Today, I’m intentionally changing that thought. I’m God’s child! I don’t have to struggle for His love or His blessings. They are both given freely.

New thought—

“Receiving and owning my blessings without the struggle.”

That’s it! Receiving and owning my blessings.

Be sure you do the same!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Love And Be Loved

I began writing this post several times, and finally settled on ending the month the way I began it—with LOVE.

Today—LOVE.

Tomorrow—LOVE.

The day after—LOVE.

Next week, next month, next year—LOVE!

Love and be loved.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

**Unplug and love on your people. Focus on the people (including yourself) who matters most. Listen, the present moment is all that’s guaranteed. Be sure to make it count. Again, I love you.♥️

February 27, 2021

As Steve Harvey said in his quote—

“Your setback is just a setup for your comeback.”

Not sure why I heard Biggie after I read the quote, but I did. Smile.

Today, I’m going to add a bit more from the song—

“You know very well who you are. Don’t let them hold you down. Reach for the stars.”

Listen, what was meant to destroy you couldn’t. What seemed like failure wasn’t. You are still on track and headed in the right direction. Remember that YOU are God’s child and YOU WILL make it!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

**Can’t believe I shared that five years ago! So much life has happened since then. Wow!!

Keep Showing Up

Giving my art life.🌺

Do your part by continuing to show up. Trust me. If you’ll show up, God will do the rest. It may look like nothing’s happening, but something is definitely happening. However, you’ll never know it if you don’t show up.

So, keep showing up!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Trust Your Gut – Take The Leap of Faith

February 26, 2021

In my lifetime, I have experienced two types of gut feelings. Either they were warnings or nudges toward giant leaps of faith.

Thinking back on the gut feelings I had on February 26, 2021, when I wrote the message in the image above. I realize I was being prepared to take one of the bravest and boldest leaps of my lifetime. Not even three weeks later, I submitted my letter of resignation from my 9-5 to bet on myself, and I haven’t regretted it at all. Have I struggled? Umm… Yes! Of course, I have. However, the freedom I gained was worth following my gut. God is so good!

I did it!!

And…

I made it!!!

Celebrating the small successes (but this one is actually pretty BIG!)!🎉🎉🎉

If your gut is telling you it’s time to take that leap—DO IT! God’s got you!♥️

Love you,

Shaun
