It’s 2:00 AM: I’m Up And Feel Like Writing

Hello!

How are you?

I pray you’re doing well.

This year has started off a bit differently than most years in the past. I know we’re only eleven days in, but it seems as if my life’s on silent mode. I haven’t been talking as much nor engaging with people outside my tiny circle. Nothing’s wrong, that I’m aware of. I just don’t have the desire to do so.

I will say that after spending the last few days of the year with my sisters, their families, and my two, I realize I’m in a completely different phase of life than everyone else. I’m in some sort of awkward solo phase—grown kids and no spouse/significant other. It reminds me of what we used to call the librarian phase. I refuse to say spinster. 😂

A few days ago, I spent the day with my elder friend, Ms. Ray, and one of her friends (both in their 80s and widows), and they were talking to me as if we were at the same stage of life. Ms. Ray wants me to join the local VFW (a veterans’ organization), and I keep thinking I’m not old enough yet. The VFW is for people at least 10 years older than me. Right?!

Anyhoo…

Just felt like sharing a bit of my world with you. Plus, I’m wide awake and don’t feel like doing anything productive, which is a whole-nother story. I’ve actually been working on a few projects, so maybe silence is warranted at this time. Hmmm…

Well, I’ll end here before I start rambling. Smile. Just felt like writing. Actually, I feel like talking, but who wants to talk at 2:00 AM in the morning besides me? I just love my random life.☺️

Surrender To God’s Will

In the Bible, the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) begins with—

9. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

“Thy [God’s] will be done…”

Let’s be honest, surrendering to God’s will sounds easy in prayer, but it can be one of the most difficult things to do in real life. Letting Him lead without interfering can be agonizing at times. However, I’ve found that surrendering to God’s will is always best. He sees and knows what lies ahead (years ahead)—the blessings and the lessons. Therefore, it’s best to surrender to His will, be obedient, and let Him lead.

Trust Him. He’s got you!♥️

Is Your Best Really Your Best?

I have a couple of questions for you. Questions I have asked myself.

Are you giving God your best—your BEST best—or are you giving Him whatever’s left over?

This includes your time, attention, energy, and obedience.

One more question—

Is God your first thought or your afterthought?

Just a couple of questions to ask yourself as you reflect on your relationship with God.

If you can’t honestly say yes to all of the questions above, join me in doing better. Let’s honor God by always putting Him first, making Him a priority, and giving Him our best.♥️

Celebrating Day 1,700!🎉

On this day a year ago, one of the daily prompts was “What is your mission?” and I responded with—

“My mission is simple—to make the world a kinder, better place for everyone, including future generations. Let’s spread kindness.♥️”

Today marks 1,700 days since I began my mission of spreading more kindness daily. It’s my hope that you have felt loved, inspired, appreciated, and a bit more hopeful.

I like to commemorate every 100 days by sharing something new—a new project or the evolution of It’s Shaun’s World or Shaun’s Daily Inspiration. Unfortunately, I didn’t have anything to share for Day 1,600. I created a Substack account, Shaun Inspires, to share with you, but I couldn’t figure out how to use it, so I never shared it—just being honest. Feel free to check it out, though. Sooner or later, I will figure it out. Smile
