God Moves and Does As He Pleases

Good Morning! On August 3, 2021, I wrote, “God does not reveal His entire plan at once. He gives us a glimpse of what is to come. Then reveals pieces as we move forward.”

Since then (like recently, smile), I have learned to stop trying to connect those pieces. To stop trying to figure everything out and let things flow. Somehow, everything will lead me where I am supposed to be. My life and future are in God’s hands. He moves and does as He pleases, and I am cool with it because I am in His hands. I know, not believe, that He’s got me.

Praying you have a wonderful day. Love you.♥️ ~Shaun

Quality Time, Part 2

Earlier, I shared the results from a love language quiz I took a couple of years ago, and I revealed that my primary love language is Quality Time. Well, today, unexpectedly, my dad asked if I would help him with a project. Something he rarely does. So, I got some quality time in with him. AND… he threw in a few words of affirmation. Didn’t even know I needed both. But God did. Smiling.

In my second post, I wrote, “When God shows up, He always shows out.” Hmmm… very few will get this, but the job we worked on (he makes headstones and monuments) required me to learn how to use a design software that I had never used before. Y’all, I’m still on cloud 9. Been watching YouTube videos on all of its features for almost an hour now. When I tell you God knows exactly how to bless me. He forever amazes me.

Just had to share my testimony—how God tends to work in my life. Y’all, I am beyond blessed, for real. I try not to take moments like this for granted.

I pray you had a great day. Wishing you a good night.♥️

Quality Time

Good Morning! Hope you had a restful night. I was reading past journal entries from this date and decided to share this one. It’s light and something different from my normal posts.

So, on August 2, 2022, I was watching a series called, “Relationship Goals.” Not even sure what that was because I have never watched a lot of reality tv. Anyway, all I can say is it must have been good because I wrote about it and took a quiz. Here’s what I said.

Shaun’s Journal Entry: August 2, 2022

“Watching Relationship Goals series and they mentioned knowing each other’s love language. I just took the quiz. Took two. Thought the first was too simple because it only had 5 questions. The second was quite long. Well.. the results were the same. My primary love language is quality time followed by words of affirmation.”

The first is quality time followed by words of affirmation, physical touch, receiving gifts, and acts of service.

As I said, I took two different quizzes and the results ended up being the same. I still don’t know how. Even after I read the descriptions of the results, I still didn’t and don’t get it. Quality Time.

Y’all, maybe I don’t even know myself because I am not someone who likes being around people all the time. I love my space. Even my kids understand this. Even on family vacations I have make time for myself. Now, when we’re together, I enjoy every minute of their presence. I take in everything from their body language to their passions. I soak it all up! Just thinking about our time together makes me smile.

Anyhoo… I just knew for sure Words of Affirmation would be my primary language because it’s what I am drawn to most. However, the order was the same. It’s a close second so I guess it’s not that big of a deal. Now, Physical Touch, I’m good. Don’t need it all the time. Never been a touchy-feely kind of person. Now, I love hugs and expressions of affection, but all that cuddling stuff ain’t for me. And some people can do it for hours! Nah…I really do like my space. As for gifts and acts of service. They’re welcomed, but not necessary. It would be different if they came along with the first two languages, but not alone. There has to be meaning behind them.

My question is, why isn’t food a love language? Because I love me some food! Now, I can definitely spend some quality time with food. Baby, if it’s good, I savor every bite. My ex used to say he wish I treated him like I treated food. Ha! Yes…food is it!

As I told you this post would be light and different from the norm. Have you taken a love language quiz before and if so, what’s your primary love language?

I hope you enjoy your day!♥️

Love you,

Shaun
