Good Night (65)

Just finished watching Being Eddie (Eddie Murphy’s documentary) on Netflix. Y’all, I truly enjoyed it! I remember sneaking to watch his stand-up comedy, Delirious, on HBO when I was in elementary school. Then came all of his movies. So many movies! I don’t believe there’s one I haven’t seen. Eddie is so talented and funny. As a kid, the Golden Child was my favorite. As a teen, and still to this day, Coming to America is my favorite.

On another note…

Watching the documentary made me think about how quickly time passes. How am I already in my 50s? Where did the time go? I really need it to slow down a bit and allow me to achieve a few more things before I get older.😮‍💨

If you’re an Eddie Murphy fan and have time this weekend, check out Being Eddie. I believe you’ll enjoy it, too.

Have a restful night!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Direct And To The Point

Saved to my photos on November 14, 2020

“Your future needs you. Your past doesn’t.” –Author Unknown

Very direct and to the point.

“Your future needs you.”

Yes, it needs you. So, keep looking and moving ahead because that’s where you’re going. What’s to come is much more meaningful, powerful, and exciting than what was.

You got this!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Happy 52nd Birthday!!

Today’s my Bestie’s—my Sister-Queen-Friend’s— 52nd birthday!🎉 Y’all, I tear up every time I think about how blessed I am to have spent my entire life with Shawn. We’ve been friends for 50 years! Yes, 50 years of Shaun and Shawn.🥰🥰

Last Friday, she held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for her nonprofit, A Turning Point For Life—a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. She has been a Special Education teacher for nearly 30 years, and opening a group home was one of her dreams.

Go, Shawn!!!🙌🏽🙌🏽

Y’all, I’m so very proud of this Queen! She did it!!♥️

You’ve Come Too Far To Settle

Good Morning ☀️

Here’s a wonderful reminder not to settle for less than what you desire, deserve, and are worth.

My dear friend, you’ve come too far to settle for what is. Keep going until receive every great thing God has for you.

You may ask, “How do I know if I’m settling?”

The answer is “you’ll know.”

You will know.

I pray you have a fabulous Friday and beautiful weekend. May it be filled with lots of love, peace, joy, and laughter.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

My Journey With God, No. 122

In one of my previous posts from this morning, I wanted to know how you regain confidence after taking a hit. Well, it didn’t take long for God to answer. I came across a message by Victoria Osteen, “Break Through The Barriers Of The Past.

The message:

You regain confidence by not allowing the fear of failure, rejection, or being hurt to stop you from trying again. You keep getting up. You keep believing. You keep going. Basically, everything I’ve been saying to encourage myself and everyone else.☺️

Y’all, God is so good. I will never be able to express enough how much I appreciate His love for me. I am beyond blessed.♥️

Grow Through It

Many of us have been through experiences that we thought would destroy us, yet we are still here. Still standing! Know that those experiences, and future ones, aren’t meant to destroy us, but to elevate us. We will emerge stronger, better equipped, and wiser than before.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

8 Years

Good Morning ☀️

I got you, Shaun!🥰

Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of memories from my Research Diva–RD days. It makes me wonder what life would be like had I not let things rattle me to the point that I ran and hid? Because, honestly, that’s exactly what I did. I was still moving about and interacting as if everything was the same; however, inside, I wasn’t the same person. I had lost almost all of my confidence, and no matter what I did to rebuild it, it only made me feel more inadequate, especially when I started working on my doctorate. I also tried changing directions completely by playing around with Marketing. For a while, I was all over the place. Sighing

Now, here I am, eight years later, more confident than I was a few years ago; however, not nearly as confident as I was back then. I rarely—almost never—think about what could’ve been, but today, I wonder.

Have you ever lost your confidence to the point where you retreated and hid? If so, how did you regain it?

By the way, I did find Gunsmoke (see last post), but decided to watch Leave It To Beaver instead.☺️

I pray you had a restful night. May your day be filled with love, light, hope, and peace.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Ugh… I Want To Talk

What do you do when you’re wide awake at 2:00 AM and want to talk? Do you talk to yourself?😅

I don’t talk on the phone much. I’d rather text than talk. However, every now and then, I actually want to hear another’s voice. 😩

I’ll tell you who I could call no matter the hour, and they’d talk like it was high noon—maybe I should turn on the tv and watch a couple of episodes of Gunsmoke…🤭 Anyhoo, as I was saying, there was one person I could call no matter the time, and that was my momma. When I tell you she’d talk until the sun came up. Y’all, she could talk for hours!

I guess writing is the alternative right now. No response, but at least I feel like I’m talking to someone, not just myself. For those in the U.S., I hope you’re sleeping well (I fell asleep much too early last night😩). For those abroad, have a wonderful day!

Now let me turn on the tv and see if I can find an episode of Gunsmoke.♥️

Good Night
