The Spark I Needed

Hey Y’all! I couldn’t sleep long. Last night’s victories across the nation have reignited every dream I thought possible. Don’t get me wrong, the dreams were still here, but the energy was slowly dissipating. HA! But it’s BACK!!! And this time I… no, we must hit the ground running like never before. Celebrate and get moving. We have work to do!

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” –Harriet Tubman

Your Dreams Are Possible

Georgia’s newly elected governor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, tells the story of being a little girl around six years old, passing the governor’s mansion and wondering what it looked like inside and what it felt like to walk inside. Whew!!! I know that dream. Mine isn’t hers, but it’s so similar. I cannot afford to give up! I must see this thing through.

Before I end, I want to recognize Ms. Stacey Abrams for her leadership and guidance. She was also here in Mississippi, lending her support. Here’s what I wrote several years ago after her run for Governor of Georgia.

“The highlight of the night was not a win, but a beautifully delivered concession speech by Stacey Abrams, Georgia’s gubernatorial candidate. Y’all, Stacey is not finished. I know they thought last night’s results would take her out of the game. Nah.. this loss just gave her more momentum. She’s on fire! And the fire she’s ignited in Georgia is about to spread like wildfire to surrounding states. Yes.. this is ONLY the beginning. Stacey is a change agent.” (Wednesday Writings, November 9, 2022)

This is all for now. We’re still waiting on the results for our Senate race. The race was too close to call, which is a very good thing! This race is so significant for our state. People want change!

I pray that you have a wonderful day. May it be filled with lots of light and love.♥️

I love you,

Shaun
