My Journey With God, No. 20

This morning when I heard, “This is bigger than you,” I thought it was meant for me to share as one of today’s posts. So I created a graphic for the message and shared it (see It’s Greater Than You).

Well, I just opened my journal and all I had written was “This is bigger than you.” When I tell you I got chills! Listen, I don’t know what God is doing, but whatever it is it’s bigger than me.

Whew! Chillz!!

My Journey With God, No. 16

Today has been a very busy day. I have been multitasking nonstop since early this morning. I just paused for a moment to catch my breath and share my afternoon post.

The following is an excerpt from last year’s journal entry. It references another journal entry I made in 2017 when I thought about the advice I would give to my five-year-old self. Here’s what I wrote—

“You’re going to have some good days and some bad days. Sometimes you’re going to feel like giving up, but you won’t. You’re a survivor. See every moment as an adventure. It will help you through the tough times. Don’t be afraid to take chances. Don’t settle for less than what you want and what you’re worth.”

Whew… ALL of that has been the story of my life—not giving up, viewing difficulties as adventures, taking leaps, being a survivor/superhuman, and not settling. Yeah…that’s been the story of my life, but now I’m tired. Now, it’s time to advise little Shaun on how to thrive without being that survivor/superhuman. On how to take better care of herself while taking leaps. And still, never settling for less than what she wants and what she’s worth—this part is nonnegotiable.

On another note…

During a meeting today, someone referred to me as middle–aged. I was like, “Who? Me?” Then I thought about it, I am over half a century old soooo… I must be middle–aged. Smile

Life…gotta love it.♥️

My Journey With God, No. 13

It’s Saturday, and I’m up early, starting my day with worship. The song I’m listening to at the moment is The Soul Seekers’ “It’s All God.”

The song says—

“I’ve got a bed for my head; shoes for my feet. I’ve got breath in my body, and if I was just anybody I’d say it’s all good; but I know better, its all God. Yeah, but I know better, it’s all God.”

Y’all, it’s all God.

Forever grateful and beyond blessed.🙏🏽

God’s child.♥️

My Journey With God, No. 12

Today, I am feeling so much better. Yesterday, I allowed myself to feel, which I needed to do. I also allowed myself to be comforted my the ultimate comforter in the world, God. Yesterday, I leaned into God and allowed Him to dry my tears and soothe my heart and soul.

Today, I am doing the same. I’m curling up in His arms and allowing His love, peace, and comfort to surround me.

I am loved.

I am protected.

I am covered.

I’m God’s child.♥️

My Journey With God, No. 11

God is quick! I’m so very grateful and blessed that He loves me. After I made my previous post, “The Best…Is Yet To Come?”, I heard to read Matthew 13. Here are the first 23 verses, Matthew 13:1-23 NIV—

Matthew 13:1. That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake.

2. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore.

3. Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed.

4. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.

5. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.

6. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

7. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.

8. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

9. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

10. The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”

11. He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.

12. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.

13. This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

14. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

15. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’

16. But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

17. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

18. “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:

19. When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

20. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.

21. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.

22. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

23. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

As God reminded me yesterday, I have my assignment and purpose. My job is to stay focused on them and He will handle the rest.♥️

Y’all be blessed.🙏🏽

My Journey With God, No. 9

Here’s what I wrote two years ago—

“Today, I encourage you to stay focused on the bigger picture. The goal. The dream. The mission. The purpose.”

Shared on November 5, 2022 with the hashtag “Stay Focused.”

Over the years, I’ve noticed that some of my goals have slightly changed; however, my overall vision, purpose and dreams have remained the same. If you haven’t already guessed, my “bigger picture” is to spread love, hope, and peace to every corner of the earth.

It can be done.

Okay, maybe I’m a little delusional. Smile. However, it’s my lifelong mission to make it happen.♥️
