Love… Do You Let It In? Just Asking…

Thought I’d share something a little different than my usual Shaun’s Daily Inspiration posts. Smile

I’m not sure how long WordPress has been providing their “On This Day” feature, but it’s nice, especially since I’m not currently on Facebook to review my daily memories. The “On This Day” feature shares past posts written on a particular day, and on this day two years ago, I shared a post about love which was a reshare of a post I made on June 16, 2022, “Allow Love In.”

Life is short. Love and be loved.♥️

Saw this Facebook memory and immediately heard Earth, Wind & Fire’s, “Can’t Hide Love.” You can’t hide it so you may as well let it in. Just saying.…

Love

Soooo…

What do you do?

Do you let love in or not?

Thought it’d be fun to ask, so I’m just asking. Smile

At age 52 (soon to be 53🎉), I honestly don’t know the answer to that question. I have technically spent over a decade single—separated from my ex in 2015 and divorced in 2019. Y’all, it just dawned on me that tomorrow I will be 7 years divorced!! Wow!!! Time passes so fast!

Anyhoo… I always say I’m getting married again, but I haven’t even started dating. Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. A few friends have suggested dating apps (tried it before and I logged in and out within 8 hours—couldn’t get into random men looking at my profile😅). I’ve also been advised to get out the house, make eye contact, answer those men in your DMs, stop streaming and go to a physical church, go sit at Starbucks, and the list goes on and on. Lol. My dad believes I’m too mean (I just don’t have time for foolishness), and my uncles know I don’t put up with craziness. One of my uncles recently said, “You cut them off quick.” Now I’m sitting here asking myself— “Do I not give men a chance?” “Am I mean?”😂😂😂 I guess I need to learn how to be a soft girl.🤣🤣🤣

My life…

I know if I don’t want to be 80 or 90 years old and finally finding love, I need to figure something out. My younger advisers say I need to consider dating younger (but not too young). I’ve also been told cowboys are the way to go.🤠 We shall see what happens. Until then, I’ll continue focusing on my inspirations and finding more ways to provide hope, love, and support to those who need it. Maybe that’s where my love and focus are needed at this moment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Listen, if you’re ready, by all means let love in. Life just isn’t the same without doing so.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Hello Sunday (282)

Happy Sunday!☀️

Today, I am so grateful and blessed to be alive. Blessed to hear the birds singing. To see the beautiful sunshine. To breathe in fresh air. To have food to eat, water to drink, shelter, transportation, and the ability to move about freely.

Yes, I am blessed.

Ten Days until Year53…

This year’s excitement about my upcoming birthday is quite different. Usually, I’m bubbling with excitement, counting down the days, and imagining what I’ll do. However, the excitement I currently have is more contained. It’s a peaceful excitement. If that makes sense. It’s an excitement of knowing that I’m stepping into another year of wisdom—another year of maturity and growth.

Before I took my break (which I’m now referring to as a short sabbatical), I finally accepted the role as the matriarch of my family. A role that was already mine, but one that I wasn’t ready to accept. Well, I have accepted it, which means I must move differently. I have to be more mindful of what I do and don’t do (because that also matters). I’ll never be all stuffy because I love life too much. However, the way I move through life will change a bit. It’s already changed…for the better. Smile

I know I say it all the time, but I never knew this side of 50 could be so different. I’m thankful for the change. Thankful for God’s love, patience, and grace because they have gotten me to this place. I’m so looking forward to the blessings this side of 50 will continue to bring.

I pray that you have a lovely Sunday! Talk to you later.♥️

I love you,

God’s Timing, Life

It’s Time To Take That Leap!

Hey Y’all!

Happy Self-Love Saturday!

I couldn’t decide which one of Shaun’s Daily Inspiration posts to link with today’s post, so I’m linking both!

It’s time to take that leap you’ve been hesitant to take. No more excuses—

Take The Leap” by Shaun’s Daily Inspiration

The Quote of the Day is—

“If you keep standing on the verge of greatness, you’ll eventually get the opportunity to leap into it.” –Curtis Tyrone Jones

You’ve been standing on the verge long enough—Leap into it!✨

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!♥️

The Peace of God

God’s Peace calms storms and soothes souls.” –Shaun’s Daily Inspiration

The peace that God gives is nothing like the peace we attempt to create for ourselves. His peace isn’t superficial. It’s not something that can be captured in a photo. His peace is soul deep, and once you’ve experienced it, you never want to live without it.

This morning I’m thankful for my God-given peace.

In less than two weeks, I’ll be 53!!🥰🎉

I already know Year53 will be different because I’m different. As I told my sister-friends (because we’re more than besties☺️), with each decade comes a different level of maturity, wisdom, and desires. Our fifties aren’t meant to be like our forties, and our sixties are not meant to be like our fifties. Change is good. Growth is good. This side of fifty is good.💖

This is all for today. Be sure to check out my newest blog site “Shaun’s Daily Inspiration” for more inspiration and daily quotes.

Wishing you a wonderful day and weekend! May it be filled with lots of love, laughter, and joy.♥️

Choose Kindness Over Ego

A Kind Word
“A kind word, a gentle smile, and a grateful heart has a way of changing people and situations.” –Shaun’s Daily Inspiration

Be kind.

It doesn’t take much to do so once ego is removed.

When we feel wronged or disrespected, more times than not, our ego says to retaliate in some way or another. However, kindness pushes us to look beyond our feelings and respond with goodness, compassion, and love.

I encourage you to follow the direction of kindness. Even if you don’t see an immediate reaction or response from your effort, know that your kind gesture made an impact.

Side Note: Always be kind—not a pushover or doormat—but kind. There’s a difference. Just had to throw that in. Smile

Praying you have a wonderful day!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

An Expression Of God’s Love

Compassion

“Compassion is an expression of God’s love, and it’s offered freely.” Shaun’s Daily Inspiration

If you’d like to be a beacon of God’s love, start with compassion.🌺

On another note about an expression of God’s love, today I’m celebrating the 8th Anniversary of It’s Shaun’s World! Woohoo!!🎉

Grateful and blessed to have been here for eight years! I pray that throughout the years I have been an expression of God’s love and that I continue to be.

Thank you for supporting me over the years, giving me a safe space to grow, and for allowing me to BE. I truly, truly appreciate you!💕

Wishing you a beautifully blessed day!♥️

I love you always,

Shaun

ALSO….

In two weeks I’ll be 53!!!🎉🎉🎉

I’m so ready. Lol

Hope For Today

Moments of Hope by Shaun’s Daily Inspiration

“Moments of hope are found in the memories of smiles, the sounds of laughter, and stories of goodness. It’s those memories, and the anticipation of more like moments, that keep humanity alive. They keep hope alive.”

Today, if only for a moment, remember the smiles, the laughter, the good times, feelings of love, happiness, and joy. They’re not only experiences of the past but a glimpse of more like experiences to come. As songstress Maurette Brown Clark says, “It ain’t over until God says it’s over. Keep fighting until the victory is won…God has the final say.”

It Ain’t Over by Maurette Brown Clark

Remain hopeful.

God has the final say.♥️

Joy and Gratitude

I’m beginning my day with joy and gratitude as I do every morning. Over the years, I’ve learned that Joy Grows with Gratitude. The more grateful I am, the more joyous I am.

God, thank You for waking me up this morning. For the rhythm of my heartbeat. For the ability to see, hear, breathe, walk, and think. These are things I often overlook because they happen so naturally. But I want You to know they’re not things I take for granted. I’m grateful to be here. Amen

What are you grateful for today?

Remember to start every morning with gratitude, and watch how your joy grows.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

God, Life

Hello Sunday (281)

Today’s the seventh day of June, a day of rest. Be sure to rest today. Your mind, body, spirit, and soul will thank you.

Genesis 2:2-3
2. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

3. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Yes, today—Rest!

Before I go, I’d like to leave you with a little Sunday Morning Inspiration:

Keep God at the center of your life. Doing so is life changing.♥️

I love you,

Shaun
