Lesson Learned

Hello! This morning I woke up to my first post not being published. My first thought was that something was wrong with WordPress/Jetpack because sometimes there’s actually a delay in publishing time, but only a few minutes. Today it was over an hour off…so I thought. Come to find out the problem was me. I had scheduled it for 10:30 AM instead of 4:30 AM.

Honestly, this was the wake up call I needed. It really made me think about how, if we are not careful, we can miss crucial moments. What if someone was counting on my message to be shared at its usual time? Then, I missed the mark. It also reminded me of the ten bridesmaids/virgins in the Bible. Five were prepared for the bridegroom, while the other five were not (Matthew 25:1-13). When I tell you God can chastise you with a single thought! Listen, no sermon was needed. I got the message and I know it wasn’t only for me—as most messages aren’t. That’s why I share them. Smile

So, this particular message is about taking our purposes and/or callings more seriously. Yesterday I celebrated 1200 consecutive days of posting, as I should have. However, today I woke up with another thought that consistency without a true purpose or direction is basically pointless. Now, I am not going to stop sharing my life, testimonies or experiences with you. However, I am going to be more intentional about what I share. I would love to see more hope, optimism, kindness, compassion, and love in the world so that’s what I will be sharing (was already doing it but wasn’t intentional about it). Also, and always, I will continue posting about God’s love, mercy, and grace. Y’all, He’s too good for me not to.

So, today, I am asking God for forgiveness for not being more mindful of how I have used this beautiful space He’s given me. I must remember that it is definitely tied to my purpose…His purpose. Same with you. Please be mindful of how you use the platform/space God has given you. Know that it is tied to your purpose and calling.

Yep…time to do better.

I’m listening God.

1200 Days!

Rain or shine, happy or sad, up or down, I’ve posted. I haven’t missed one single day of sharing a piece of my world with the world. I pray my posts have added a little more love, hope, kindness, and inspiration to every soul they’ve reached.
