Words Are Powerful

Facebook Memory: March 19, 2021

Words are powerful. They can either build or destroy. How are you using your words? Are you speaking life or death?

Same question today—how are you using your words? Are you speaking life or death? Are you building or destroying?

Be mindful of what you speak, especially when it comes to speaking about others. Be the person who builds relationships not destroy them. Be the one who speaks life, love, peace, and prosperity over others. I believe whatever we speak, whether over ourselves or others, we receive. Again, be mindful of what you speak. Words are very powerful.

Praying you have a wonderful day!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Why I Write What I Write

I used to wonder why there were so many gospel songs about getting through hard times. Seemed like no one was ever on the other side. Someone was always going through something trying to get to better. Well, this morning it dawned on me—after posting one of thousands of the same “Lord, please help us through the struggle” posts—that so many are actually going through something and need encouragement or motivation to make it through. They need hope.

Side note: I was pretty annoyed with myself after my last blog. Just being honest. I was like, “Girl, no more struggle posts. People are tired of reading them.” Then, I was reminded that there are people who are actually going through some pretty rough times right now and are on the verge of giving up. They need a little bit of hope to continue on. Hope is what has gotten us this far, and it’s hope that will keep us going. Amen

Gotta keep hope alive.♥️

Do Not Throw In The Towel

Facebook Memory: March 18, 2023

Hold on. God is working. He’s already set things in motion. Listen, you cannot afford to give up now.♥️

It’s true, you cannot afford to give up. Your purpose is much too great.

My friend, push through; pray through; but whatever you do, please do not throw in the towel. Do not settle for where you are, thinking this is it, this is how life is meant to be. Nope! God has many more years of blessings planned for your life. Just hold on a little while longer. I promise you, God is working everything out. You will get through this.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Hello Sunday

Happy Sunday, y’all! Was debating whether to write about what’s currently going on in my life (things are finally settling down—will share later) or share a Facebook memory. Well…I chose the memory. Smile. Its message could not be any clearer—God’s will be done.

Whatever it is, release control and surrender to God’s will. Believe me, He will not let you fail. He’s got you.

Of course I heard Marvin L. Winans singing, “Draw Me Close To You/Thy Will Be Done.” Smile. He ends the song with, “I seen You work in others and I want You to work in me.”

This morning’s prayer is:

Lord, I am surrendering it all to you. I have seen Your work with others and know You will do the same with me. Lord, I completely trust You with my all. Thy will be done. Amen

Praying you have a wonderful week! Stay in prayer. Stay connected to God. Love you!♥️

Zhané

One of my favorite online history magazines, CARTER Magazine, celebrated one of my favorite RnB duos from the 90s, Zhané. I remember finding their CD in our local AAFES music/movie store on base. At the time, I was stationed in Germany and most of the CDs I bought were based on the CD cover rather than a particular song. Being stationed overseas, we rarely heard new music unless someone had recently come from stateside. Well, I picked up Zhané’s debut CD and the rest was history.

Back in 2019, Zhané’s song, “For A Reason,” seemed to be my theme song for that year. For months, I woke up with it playing over and over in my head. It was the same year I celebrated one of my greatest joys (my divorce after 4 long years of waiting), and my greatest sorrows (my brother passing). When I say that was some year! Soooo many ups and downs that year. What a roller coaster ride! Anyhoo… that song was a gentle warning of what was to come, as well as a soothing reminder that God would be with me through it all. Blessed.♥️
