I’ve been quiet since this morning. Haven’t had much more to say. It’s when I become quiet and calm that God speaks to me the most. Here’s the message he gave me for today’s journey. It was written in last year’s journal entry.
“My job…LaShaundrea’s job…is to be obedient, focus on my purpose, and pursue it. My dreams are coming to fruition. I just have to stay focused.”
I guess I have my answer and my assignment. I’m listening, God. Staying focused.♥️
We are all connected. What affects one affects all.
It would be easy to say that from now on I’m only out for my own, but what would that benefit me in the long run? It might feel good for a moment; however, when thinking long term, it could be detrimental. I have seen the damage this mentality has had on families and communities, and it’s quite sad to see.
Y’all, we are not on an island alone. We are part of something much greater. Every move we make has a ripple effect. It sets things in motion. Every act of love and every act of hate affects someone, which in turn affects someone else. We must be mindful of how we move. Listen, you better believe God has already checked me.🤷🏽♀️😅
My mission is to continue moving in love, peace, and kindness as I push for progress. I know that one day I will see the harmony I envisioned.♥️
Love you,
Shaun
**Not letting up on what I believe in. If anything, I’m pushing harder. We must continue the fight for our freedoms, inclusiveness, democracy, and peace—for humanity.
Yes, comfort prevents change. Also, you cannot change what you can’t see. And the only way to see what’s hidden is to shake up a few things. Y’all, soooo much has been shaken and uncovered over the past several months, and there’s no going back.
There were two distinct sides in this election—one that was just, fair, inclusive, willing to work together for everyone, and just decent (that, my friend, is Christ like), and then there was the other. As I write, the election hasn’t been called, but it’s evident that the other may have won. But even if by some miracle justice, joy, and inclusivity wins, life as we knew it has forever been changed. As I mentioned, so much was uncovered, nothing was hidden. Everything was revealed and spelled out. My advice is to buckle up, stay covered, remain prayerful, prepare to work, and always keep God first. A change is coming/happening—eventually a beautiful change (I can feel it)—but not without a little discomfort/disruption, first.
In the words of Tye Tribbett or Kendrick Lamar (you choose☺️), “We gon’ be alright.”
But will everyone? Especially when they no longer have the freedoms to choose… their lives or their family’s.
Anyhoo… I digress.
I pray you have a fabulous day! Stay present, stay at peace, and enjoy the moments of now. You’re alive. You’re well. You’re blessed.♥️
Whatever you bury will resurface at the oddest times.
That’s my personal message for today.
Y’all, God’s timing is quite interesting. When you open yourself up to be worked on, God will confront you with issues you thought you had defeated, only to discover they were buried.
All I can say is what I seem to be saying a lot of lately—
You are exactly where you are supposed to be at this moment in time… EXACTLY where you’re supposed to be. Stay present, patient, and grateful. Everything will happen at the right time.♥️
Love you,
Shaun
Here’s what I shared several years ago—
It’s always best to trust God’s timing and His plan.
If you are experiencing difficulties and challenges right now, remember they are only temporary. Where you are today is not where you are meant to stay. Keep your head up. Things will get better.
The song I’m currently hearing is “Optimistic” by Sounds Of Blackness (Lyrics: LyricFind). The song says—
When in the midst of sorrow You can’ t see up when looking down A brighter day tomorrow will bring, oh
You hear the voice of reason Telling you this can’t never be done No matter how hard reality seems Just hold on to your dreams, yeah
Don’t give up and don’t give in Although it seems you never win You will always pass the test As long as you keep your head to the sky You can win as long as you keep your head to the sky You can win as long as you keep your head to the sky Face toward the sky Be optimistic
Listen, you will always win because God’s got you!♥️
We may not always understand what God is doing or why He has us go through certain things. However, I have learned that, at times, He gives us glimpses of possible answers. Yesterday, I received one of those glimpses. It was a glimpse of a promise, of a dream God had given me ages ago. All He ever asked of me was to trust Him completely, be obedient, and follow His lead; and I did—not always perfectly, but did (and I’m still doing).
Yes, yesterday, I received a much-needed glimpse at what God is doing and where He’s taking me. Of course, I’m not privy to the entire picture (I’ve learned to accept this), but what I see is enough to let me know I am heading in the right direction and that my dream is still intact.
Today, I am thankful for connections I made decades ago that have somehow come full circle (one of the speakers from yesterday’s event was someone I met during undergrad over 20 years ago). Thankful for recent connections (made within the past few months) that have encouraged and inspired me to push beyond my limits. Everything that has happened has been done in a way only God knew I would undoubtedly receive—from the people He placed in my path to the opportunities I have been given. I am forever amazed at how well He knows me! I know…He’s God. Smile
Y’all, I can’t stress it enough how I really did need for yesterday to happen, and to happen the way that it did. Even what I considered hiccups, needed to happen.
I just love the way God loves me.🥰
Thank you so much for reading and following my journey to becoming the person God’s created me to be. I pray you have a wonderful Sunday and extraordinary week!♥️
