Life Is Interesting

Good Morning☀️

Today, I came across a quote by James Baldwin in my Facebook memories that made me think of a question I often ask myself– “How did I end up here?” Meaning, how did I end up in this space in time? Well, as James Baldwin’s quote suggests, all it takes is a millimeter of a shift, and our lives can change forever.

Although the James Baldwin quote refers to changes in the world, I can easily relate it to the personal changes that have happened to me over time. It only took one event, one experience, or one encounter for something inside me to shift. I can see it, now. I was no longer the person I was moments before that event occurred.

Y’all, life is interesting…

Side note: Just heard this, be careful of the spaces you enter and who you allow in your space. Some events and experiences are intentionally designed to alter your thoughts and behaviors. Whew!

Listen, we must stay prayed up and take God with us everywhere we go. Discernment and God’s covering are so necessary. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s not right—period, and we have to stop trying to make it feel right. There’s a distinct difference between fear or uncertainty about the unknown and feelings of unease. Uneasiness isn’t a good sign. RUN!!!

Okay… I had no idea this quote would lead me in this direction; however, here we are. Smile.

I believe I will end here. Thanks for reading. I pray you have an exceptionally blessed day.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

The Best…Is Yet To Come?

Good Morning!☀️

Sometimes, you have to be your own hype woman (man). You have to pump yourself up so well that whatever’s happening around you seems so small and insignificant that you can tune it out. Or that you can take on any and everything that comes your way because you know the outcome will be great.

Today, I’m singing “The Best Is Yet To Come,” trying to hype myself up. In the memory below, I wrote, “Believe me, you ain’t seen nothing yet!” Well, that was me hyping myself up, and honestly, it probably worked. However, today, I’m not feeling it. Whew! I’m not feeling it at all. Y’all, I’m going to need a minute to process what’s happened over the past couple of days.

Yeah… I need time to process this. I can’t believe all our progress as a society is about to be ripped away. All the work women fought for to have our voices heard and respected as equal—gone. All the progress we’ve made since slavery and the Civil Rights movement—gone. Religious freedoms—gone. Global respect—gone. And people are celebrating.

Yeah… I’m going to need a minute. I cannot allow my own hope and optimism to die like everything else. I cannot and will not allow my heart to become hard because love is everything to me. What is the world without it? So, this will probably be my only post for today. I need to connect with God. I don’t know or understand what He’s doing, but I still trust Him. However, right now, my heart hurts.

Wishing you a wonderful day!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Keep Your Heart Open

Keep your heart open, and prepare to receive the love, light, and goodness that’s flowing your way.

Y’all, there is a lot of sadness in the world. Please do not let everything happening right now cause you to shut yourself off from the world. Believe me, there is still goodness, light, and love surrounding you, and there’s even more heading your way.

Please, keep your heart open and ready to receive.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

According To God’s Plans

Good Morning! Have you ever been frustrated, disappointed, down, or even hurt because things in life just haven’t gone as planned? Well, according to your plans.

If so…

Let It Go!

Release every expectation you had for your plan because God has something better in store.

Here’s a quote from the late Bruce Van Horn along with the post I shared six years ago.

I shared this a couple of weeks after I had basically given up on my plans of finding a new home. After losing my house (due to divorce), I had promised my kids that the place we had moved into was only temporary. Well, eventually our “temporary” home began to look more like a long term stay.

After three years of searching for a place and things not working out, one day everything just fell into place. I found a house, secured the lease, and moved in the day before my son’s birthday.

You see, the year before, I had promised my son we’d be in a new place before his next birthday (no lie). So, I was really trying to make good on my promise. Well, by the time September of the following year rolled around, I still hadn’t found a place. Talk about being frustrated and disappointed. Then, one day I just let it go. I was tired. And that’s when it all happened. What I hadn’t been able to do in three years, God did in less than three weeks. To this day, it still amazes me how things happened. As I mentioned, we moved in the day before my son’s birthday.

Y’all, that’s only one of many examples of things happening according to God’s plan. As Bruce Van Horn put in his message from God, trust God’s love for you. Never doubt that He’s got you, completely!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Stop And Breathe

Not only did I have to remind myself to stop and breathe yesterday, but I had to do it just now. As I said in the memory below, the world is not going to fall apart while I take a few moments for myself. I’ll get back to everything in a few.♥️ ~Shaun

Facebook Memory: August 15, 2022

“Sometimes you have to stop and rest. Believe me, the world is not going to fall apart because you decide to take a moment for yourself. Remember, you cannot serve or give if you’re depleted.🪫”

This was the picture I used with the caption. Hmmm… wondering if I should go back short and add a little color. We shall see.😊

God Is The Joy And The Strength Of My Life

Good Morning!

Facebook Memory: August 15, 2022

“I can hear James Cleveland’s choir singing:

‘God is the joy and the strength of my life. He removes all pain, misery and strife. He promised to keep me. Never to leave me. He’ll never ever fall short of His word… God is my all and all.’ Amen”

Yes, God is my all and all. Praying you have a blessed day.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Tunnel Vision

As long as YOU and God know where you are headed, no one else’s opinion matters. They cannot see the vision God gave you. Block the noise and chatter—even your own thoughts that cannot fathom where you are going—and focus on God’s guidance. He knows where He is taking you.

It’s tunnel vision season. Trust God!

Stay focused on your God-given vision. You might look crazy today, but you won’t tomorrow. Love you!♥️

How Are You Reacting To Stress?

Found the quote below in my journal entry dated May 16, 2019. It’s definitely a much needed reminder that we may be surrounded by stressors; however, we do not have to be stressed.

In that entry, I mentioned that I had shared the quote the day before (May 15, 2019), but I do not remember seeing it under yesterday’s Facebook memories. Or… maybe it was there but wasn’t meant to be shared until today. Hmmm… Only God knows. Smile♥️

It’s not the things around you that causes stress but your thoughts about them that causes the stress.

Repeat after me—

“I refuse to be stressed. God has everything under control.”

Love you,

Shaun
