Know When To Move On

Sometimes we stay in spaces to save face. You know, we think the embarrassment of leaving is worse than the consequences of staying. Other times we stay out of fear, or because we believe we have already stayed too long and there’s nothing left to do or give. Whichever the case may be, when we know it’s time to move on, we need to move on. We cannot waste anymore time in spaces where we were never meant to stay. Let’s learn the lessons. Accept the blessings. Then move on. God has more in store for us. However, we will never receive them if we do not move.

Comfort blocks blessings.

I pray you’re having a wonderful day thus far. Remember, God’s got you. You will not fail.♥️

Be Blessed,

Shaun

God’s Plan Is Greater

Facebook Memory: June 3, 2022

God’s plan for your life is greater than you’ve imagined. Allow Him to lead.

Trusting God’s plan and timing.

Timing

Here’s another memory about timing. Smiling because even after I made this post six years ago, I still had more deadlines and things I wanted to accomplish by age 50. Now, everything I said back in 2018 about releasing it all, is true. No more deadlines. Everything will happen when it’s time. Although I can’t see myself being an elder and finally fulfilling certain dreams, so many others have had to wait to see their dreams come to fruition and they are doing quite well. Which means I’m going to be just fine. What’s meant to happen will happen. My job is to enjoy every moment of the here and now. Smiling

Facebook Memory: June 3, 2018

Good Morning! Trust God’s timing. I used to create deadlines. Deadlines are good for work projects, but can be horrible for your personal life. I had a deadline for everything- when I wanted to have my first child, my second child, get married and so on. Well, I got all of those things by my deadline. However, I wasn’t ready for what I received. God sent warning signs but I overrode each one so that it would fit my timing, my deadline.

A few years ago, I let go of the deadlines. I decided to leave it ALL in God’s hand and to actually heed the warnings. Needless to say, nothing happened as I’d planned. NOTHING! But the BEST part of it all was God’s timing was ALWAYS on point! I look back over the years and see where I was about to make another decision based on FEAR of missing an opportunity, or a deadline I set for myself years ago (those young adult deadlines), and God said WAIT.. BE STILL! I waited and things turned out better than I’d ever imagined. For real! Y’all just don’t know how grateful I am that I listened.

Now this year- 2018- this year has been rough. All of “my” deadlines have been thrown aside. Yes, I went back to setting deadlines. I’m human. Lol! Now I’m back to trusting God’s timing. I already KNOW that the outcome will be so much better that what I’ve planned. Amen!

Best advice– “Be still and wait!” Don’t rush a thing. God knows best.

Two events on my timeline that I set when I was around 19 or 20—that I was adamant about—was having my first child at 21 and the second by 30. Well, at the time that they were conceived I had already changed my mind; however, it happened anyway. Yes, they happened and they’re the best gifts I could have added to my timeline. Never knew how important they would be in my life. God is good. Even when I had changed my mind, He already had a plan for that ask.

Well, let me get moving. This month I’m not in a rush to do anything. So my posts will happen sporadically, no specific time frame. I will try to post them somewhat around the same times (will try to schedule them), but my mind is on vacation (wish I was physically) and things will get done at my leisure. I ain’t stressing none this month. Laughing

Have a blessed week!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Timing & Freedom

Timing and freedom, both are so very significant. Trying not to become too emotional, but you already know that’s not going to happen. Y’all, I waited over four years for my freedom (the divorce). Words can’t even describe how I felt when I received the call that the papers were signed. Til this day, I am forever grateful to God for seeing me through. I made it! Can you imagine being stuck in limbo for years?! So glad I made it.

As Marvin Sapp sings— “So if you see me cry, it’s just a sign that I’m still alive. Got some scars, but I’m still alive. In spite of calamity, He still has a plan for me and it’s working for my good and it’s building my testimony.” Hallelujah! I made it!!

Here’s what I shared after I received the news.

Facebook Memory: May 31, 2019

Trust God’s timing. It’s absolutely perfect. He’s forever working behind the scenes. Be blessed! Rejoicing

Divinely perfect!

And, I am assuming the post below happened first by the way it’s written and the order in which it showed up in my memories. Y’all, I had no clue of what that day was going to bring. Had no idea God was working behind the scenes. Can’t stop crying. When I tell you God is soooo strategic. It happened at the end of my 45th year, right before I crossed the threshold (June 1st) to begin celebrating entering my 46th year. I keep telling you, I love my birthdays. They are God’s precious gifts. I am truly blessed.

Anyhoo… here’s the other memory. And y’all, it’s Friday again!!

Facebook Memory: May 31, 2019

Happy Friday!! Here’s today’s social media find– a little happy to get you through the weekend.☺️ Stop stressing and follow your dreams. Keep Dreaming

Following my dreams.

Have a blessed day and fabulous weekend.♥️

Complete The Assignment

That’s the word. Complete the assignment!

Y’all, this decade has been one wild ride! Whew!! What I am slowly learning is you have to complete your God given assignments before you can move forward. I don’t care how much you try to dodge them, if there is something that you are meant to do, be ready to encounter the same or similar situations until you complete the assignment or choose to stop moving forward (you settle).

Well, as I am fully entering this next decade (tomorrow will be exactly one month before Year51), I am committed to doing whatever God instructs me to do. A couple of days ago I was reading a past journal entry from several years ago where God had instructed me to do something very specific and I would not do it. Y’all, I allowed fear and my insecurities to get the best of me. Basically, I came up with all kinds of excuses about how others were more qualified and/or equipped for the assignment. Well, a few weeks ago, I encountered that same assignment. The exact same assignment. Y’all, after not moving forward as God instructed, I watched others attempt to do what I was instructed to do. Yes, God will allow you to watch things play out. As I watched, I would always hear, “that’s where you are supposed to be.” However, I allowed my insecurities to make me believe I wasn’t the right person for the job. I didn’t have the resources others did. But, oh how I forgot about the Ultimate Resource—God.

Now, that’s not the only incomplete assignment I have had the pleasure of reencountering. When I tell you this year has been the year of circling back. Every assignment I didn’t fully complete, I have encountered again. The only difference is this time I am not dodging them or trying to hand them off to others. Also, I am no longer spending tons of money on enhancing my skills or obtaining more certifications or degrees. I already have everything I need. What’s blown my mind is the people who really want to work with me, want to work with ME. They have seen the authentic version of me and they still want me. Y’all, people have been reaching out to me for the longest, for years, and I have been turning down opportunities or suggesting others for the jobs. Listen, I am good at recommending others and helping them shine. However, I have not done the same for myself. As I have written before, you have to see and feel yourself there, and I couldn’t. Well… now I can.

I’ll leave you with this, when God has a plan for your life, He won’t even let you mess it up. Now, He will allow you time to get your act together. However, no matter how many times you try to dodge your assignments, they will just keep showing up until you show up!

Side note: I might be writing a little more than usual during this time. It seems to be a pattern of mine. I have noticed that I tend to write more around the end of May and the beginning of June. Maybe it has something to do with my birthday—you know, while one chapter/year is ending and another is beginning. Anyhoo… Ain’t God magnificent! I just love watching Him work.

Thanks for reading! I pray you have the loveliest of days.♥️

Blessings,

Shaun

Good Night (7)

As I wind down for the night, I would like to thank God for loving me. For His presence in my life. Y’all, several times today I have had to stop and take a praise break. Tearing up just thinking about how God moves. Y’all, He is so good and so strategic.

Listen, remain patient and steadfast, and continue allowing God to lead. I’m telling you, He’s got you, and His timing is everything. Everything!

Good Night♥️

Hello Sunday

Sharing two memories today. The first is an image I used when I updated my cover photo on May 19, 2023; and the second is the Facebook memory I shared on May 19, 2022. Both seem to compliment each other. Going to share the oldest first.

Facebook Memory: May 19, 2022

Forever in awe of the power of manifestation. Don’t just think it. Write it down. Verbalize it. See it. Feel it. Walk in it. If you want it, manifest it!

I have discovered from looking back over my life, as well as watching God work in other people’s lives, timing is everything. Manifest it and when it’s time, it will happen. And you won’t even see it coming.

Keep believing, working towards it, and wait. God’s got you!

Praying you have a blessed day!♥️

A Reflection: It’s Been Ten Years

In my previous post, I mentioned receiving an invite to a media training that awakened so many dreams. Well, here’s what I wrote afterwards:

Shaun’s Journal Entry: June 3, 2014

New Orleans was definitely a great professional experience. I came back with a sense of worth. I felt like I could actually accomplish my goals. I now have a different outlook on life & my role in this universe. I am destined for greatness & there’s nothing wrong with it. Thank you God for helping me realize my potential. Please give me the knowledge, strength, courage, and intelligence to do things the correct way. I thank you so much for the favor!

Y’all, there are so many key elements in that entry that I had no idea I would struggle with over the years that followed. Didn’t see any of it coming. When I tell you my life was disrupted for real! Whew!! But I made it!!!

One of my biggest struggles, which I believe is the reasoning behind the self-sabotage, is this one statement: “I am destined for greatness…”

Y’all, that was a very bold statement. I saw it. I felt it. And over the years whenever I felt it creeping up again, I would shut it down. Every. Single. Time.

Very interesting revelation, isn’t it? Had no idea I was even doing it.

Moving forward, I am going to keep the same prayer in mind—

God, please give me the knowledge, strength, courage, and intelligence to do things the correct way. Amen

I believe if I make this prayer the center of all future endeavors, I will be okay.

Here’s to 10 years!🎉🎉

Yes… this is Year50…♥️

Here are a few pictures from my trip and the invite from this day ten years ago. Still can’t believe it’s been ten years.

Never Give Up On Your Goals or Dreams

Never give up on your goals or dreams. They may not happen when or the way you envisioned them to, but they will happen.

This has been my prayer, lately:

Lord, please let me be able to recognize and receive what I dreamed. Please let my ego and stubbornness die so that I can enjoy every blessing You have for me. More of You, less of me.

I know my purpose is too great for me to keep getting in my own way. Yes, sometimes I get in the way of my own blessings, dreams, and goals. Not anymore. It’s time for me to see my goals and dreams fulfilled. There’s so much for me to do!♥️

More of God, less of me…

Shaun
