It’s In The Knowing

It’s in the knowing. Not only knowing who you are or who you are not, but who’s in control. Below is a reblog of last year’s post.

Last year I was on a mission to make this side of 50 different from the previous 50 years. At the time, I thought by abruptly ending certain behaviors life would be different, and it was to a certain extent. However, that was only physically and mentally. Then, the pruning began. Now, the pruning process was all spiritual and seemed to have lasted forever. The change I thought could happen at the flip of a switch actually took months. I thought for sure I was being torn apart, but I knew that in the end the process was remaking and remolding me so that this side of 50 would definitely be different. For that, I am forever grateful.

My advice for if you ever find yourself being pruned, don’t resist it. Release control and allow God to do whatever He’s going to do. I promise you life will be so much easier when you do. Love you.♥️ ~ Shaun

Here’s what I wrote last year, “I know who I am because I finally understand, and have accepted, who I am not.” Little did I know, I still had a long way to go. That pruning was a beast!

Be Faithful and Loyal to YOU

We often pride ourselves in our faithfulness and loyalty to others. We make sure everyone knows our commitment runs deep. But how deep is our faithfulness and loyalty to ourselves?

Remember this – YOU are the only one who has been rocking with you since day one. Since the womb! No one knows you better than you do. No one will fight for you harder than you will (believe me, that’s how you’ve managed to make it this far). You are still that little girl or little boy who refused to give up. Who was determined to be here. So, stay faithful and loyal to them, to YOU. Nurture yourself. Forgive yourself a thousand times over, and then more. Give yourself grace. Be sure to love YOU. The YOU God created.

Love you always!♥️

Make sure you matter to YOU!

You Can Wait

If God tells you to “wait,” then wait. Don’t try to rush things along by interfering with what God is doing. Waiting means setting aside what you’re waiting for and focusing on something else—believe me, there are plenty of other things to focus on—without constantly checking or asking God if it’s time. Leave it alone. God will let you know when the wait is over. In the meantime, enjoy what you have right in front of you.

HA! That’s what I am saying now.

It wasn’t until Year50 that I released everything to God. As I have written before, I let my timeline go. For as far back as I can remember, I have had a timeline for something or have tried to help God along with things I felt He was moving to slowly with. To me, He never seemed to have the same sense of urgency as I did. I would often tell Him, “I’m not waiting 2-3 years.” Only to have the joke be on me because it would be 10, 20, or 30 years later before it happened. Yes, some things I have had to wait 30 years to see.

What I have learned is, God has us wait for a reason. Although it feels like we are being punished, it’s the exact opposite, we are actually being protected. Allow God to protect you (sometimes He’s protecting you from yourself because you’re not ready). As I mentioned before, while you wait, enjoy what’s in front of you. Take advantage of every opportunity and blessing you currently have. In due time the wait will be over, and guess what—you won’t even know how or when it happened. Smile

Praying you have a relaxing day and safe 4th of July. Love you!♥️

Focus On The Picture

The message is good but focus on the picture. Focus on the picture because it’s one of my best drawings yet. Smile. If you have not noticed, I have started drawing again. For a minute there, I thought my drawing phase had run its course. Guess not. I am back at it!

Your dreams are important, too important to let die. No matter what comes or goes, or how much time passes, never give up on your dreams. Everything will happen at the appropriate time.♥️

Following another dream that was not meant to die. I am an artist. Not will be but am.🥰

Have a wonderful day!♥️

Love you,

Shaun
