Every experience, every lesson, every tear, heartbreak, setback, and disappointment were all for a purpose. Everything we’ve gone through will be, or is currently being, used to help us along our journey, or to help someone else along theirs. So, none of it is being wasted. Be Blessed.♥️ ~Shaun
Keep journeying on.
For those who saw the original post, I thought of something better—same message, new title and image.☺️
Decided to continue my Purpose series (didn’t know it would become one). For years, I have known what my purpose was/is; however, I have never known how to fully embrace it. My purpose is connected to my dreams and part of my DNA, and there are people attached to them.
Here is another Facebook memory (had so many gems today, some I shared elsewhere):
Facebook Memory: June 8, 2019
Happy Saturday! Here’s today’s social media find. Progress IS progress. Encourage others, but also encourage yourself. It’s true, we’re usually our own worst critic. Just because you’re not where you thought you’d be by now, doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.
This is where journals come in handy. Journals allow us to look back and see how far we’ve actually come. Believe me, if you’re better off than you were a year ago (like me 🙋🏽♀️), then you’re making progress. So cut yourself some slack. You’re doing great! Remember, God is working!!
It’s definitely been slow, but continuous. Had a few setbacks but I kept going, and will keep going. Photo Credit: Unknown
This was my first time serving as President-Elect. Beyond grateful for second chances. I had so much more to give, so much more to do. Listen, even when you have given up on your dreams, God has not given up on you. Your purpose is much too great for you not to keep going.
Last year on this date, I shared two posts—one was about purpose, which I basically reshared this morning, and other was the reblog below. The reblog was based on a message written on a butterfly display —“Your life is unfolding according to The Divine plan.”
Stay focused on God, not what’s going on around you. Believe me, He’s got you!
And life is doing just that, unfolding according to God’s plan. Although we have some control over how it unfolds, it’s probably not as much as we would like, and that’s a good thing. Keeps us humble. What I have learned over this past year is to allow life to do what it’s going to do. Of course I must continue to do my part which is to keep striving towards my goals and dreams. However, I cannot get caught up in the whirlwind of things happening around me, nor allow the tactics of the enemy (because they are real) throw me off course. I must remember at all times, and you should too, life is unfolding according to God’s plan, and He is in control.
Praying you have a lovely day and wonderful weekend.♥️
I bet you didn’t know how strong you were and are.
I bet you didn’t know how far you could and would come.
I bet you didn’t know the amount of courage you possessed.
Nah… You didn’t know.
You didn’t know this would or could ever be you.
However, it is most definitely YOU!
You are stronger than ever.
Your confidence is on 10!
You are feeling good and you look amazing.
Baby, you are glowing!
I have shared this same image/message every couple of years since 2016, but with different captions. Last year’s caption was, “Look how far you’ve come. You’re stronger than you think.” (Photo/image credit: unknown)
Where do I begin?! Y’all, I wish I wasn’t such an emotional person. My daughter keeps telling me it’s just me. Cancer is my zodiac sign, and she swears I exhibit every single trait. Laughing.
On June 1, 2015 (I can’t believe it’s been nine years), I took office as the president-elect of our state’s dietetics association. Today, nine years later, I am assuming that role, again! This is a three-year commitment—president-elect, president, and then past president. Several posts ago, I mentioned that I had left favor on the table. Well, this is one of those favors I was referring too. Y’all, this favor was packed with opportunities. Opportunities that I believe would have gotten me closer to where I had dreamed of being. However, life happened and I didn’t know how to handle both—life and the opportunities. Well, life won.
As they say, everything happens for a reason, and I am beginning to accept the fact that some of those reasons I may never know. Life is funny like that. However, I do know I have been granted a second chance, a do over, and this time I am going to keep going. I have to keep going.
Y’all, when I tell you God is so good and His love is unmatched! Returning to office wasn’t even on my radar. I had given up on that dream. Had written it off as one of those things that had run its course. Now, here I am again, much wiser, more equipped, and better prepared to see this dream come to fruition.
Wasn’t going to share a second post today, but one of my aunts just tagged me when she shared one of my memories from yesterday. I saw it yesterday and chose not to share it. I guess it was meant to be shared, and perhaps it was meant to be shared today.
Message: Whatever you are going through—DO NOT GIVE UP!!! God is with you. You WILL NOT fail! Trust Him.♥️ ~ Shaun
Never give up on your dreams. Endure the process.♥️
Trust God!
Yesterday, or the day before, it was, “Trust the process.” Today’s Facebook memory is, “Endure the process.” Listen, whatever that process is, you have to go through it. There’s no way around it.
Don’t you dare give up! Your purpose is too great!!♥️
Thanks to Senator Cory Booker’s post this morning, PERSEVERE is the word of the day!
No matter how many setbacks you have, keep trying. No matter how many times you have to restart, keep starting. Keep dreaming. Keep creating. Keep building. PERSEVERE! In time, everything you once dreamed will be your reality.
When I tell you this message has hit on EVERYTHING I have been sharing lately! Listen, whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE UP!!! Stay the course. God’s got you!♥️ ~Shaun
Here’s today’s Facebook memory from my Nutrition with LaShaundreaB page:
Y’all, I needed to see this memory today. Earlier, I saw where Tabitha Brown had shared a couple of posts from years ago, years before she became well known. One of her messages was, “Never stop DREAMING!!” She shared it on March 1, 2011, thirteen years ago!
As I said, I needed to see this memory today. Y’all, I haven’t shared any food pictures or made any cooking videos in months. Honestly, I had decided to let that dream go. I felt like it was taking too much time and focus away from things that I should have been focusing on. Same with drawing. Whew. I have so many decisions to make. Do I follow my passions now, or put them off until later? I really wish I was superwoman and could do it all. Life…
Here’s the video that I had made showing me preparing the salad. I had shared it as a Facebook reel, but for some reason the link won’t work on here. And for some crazy reason I didn’t share it on Instagram. Anyhoo…here’s the YouTube short.
March 2, 2023
Yeah… I definitely needed to see this today. God is so good. As Tabitha said all those years ago, we should never stop dreaming. She didn’t and now she’s living in hers.
When I tell you Year50 is doing a number on me! But it is what I asked for, right? If I want the next 50+ to be different, I have to do something different. Which means I have to focus on what I desire the next 50 years to be like, and can’t continue doing what was comfortable the last 50.
