Complete The Assignment

That’s the word. Complete the assignment!

Y’all, this decade has been one wild ride! Whew!! What I am slowly learning is you have to complete your God given assignments before you can move forward. I don’t care how much you try to dodge them, if there is something that you are meant to do, be ready to encounter the same or similar situations until you complete the assignment or choose to stop moving forward (you settle).

Well, as I am fully entering this next decade (tomorrow will be exactly one month before Year51), I am committed to doing whatever God instructs me to do. A couple of days ago I was reading a past journal entry from several years ago where God had instructed me to do something very specific and I would not do it. Y’all, I allowed fear and my insecurities to get the best of me. Basically, I came up with all kinds of excuses about how others were more qualified and/or equipped for the assignment. Well, a few weeks ago, I encountered that same assignment. The exact same assignment. Y’all, after not moving forward as God instructed, I watched others attempt to do what I was instructed to do. Yes, God will allow you to watch things play out. As I watched, I would always hear, “that’s where you are supposed to be.” However, I allowed my insecurities to make me believe I wasn’t the right person for the job. I didn’t have the resources others did. But, oh how I forgot about the Ultimate Resource—God.

Now, that’s not the only incomplete assignment I have had the pleasure of reencountering. When I tell you this year has been the year of circling back. Every assignment I didn’t fully complete, I have encountered again. The only difference is this time I am not dodging them or trying to hand them off to others. Also, I am no longer spending tons of money on enhancing my skills or obtaining more certifications or degrees. I already have everything I need. What’s blown my mind is the people who really want to work with me, want to work with ME. They have seen the authentic version of me and they still want me. Y’all, people have been reaching out to me for the longest, for years, and I have been turning down opportunities or suggesting others for the jobs. Listen, I am good at recommending others and helping them shine. However, I have not done the same for myself. As I have written before, you have to see and feel yourself there, and I couldn’t. Well… now I can.

I’ll leave you with this, when God has a plan for your life, He won’t even let you mess it up. Now, He will allow you time to get your act together. However, no matter how many times you try to dodge your assignments, they will just keep showing up until you show up!

Side note: I might be writing a little more than usual during this time. It seems to be a pattern of mine. I have noticed that I tend to write more around the end of May and the beginning of June. Maybe it has something to do with my birthday—you know, while one chapter/year is ending and another is beginning. Anyhoo… Ain’t God magnificent! I just love watching Him work.

Thanks for reading! I pray you have the loveliest of days.♥️

Blessings,

Shaun

Good Night (7)

As I wind down for the night, I would like to thank God for loving me. For His presence in my life. Y’all, several times today I have had to stop and take a praise break. Tearing up just thinking about how God moves. Y’all, He is so good and so strategic.

Listen, remain patient and steadfast, and continue allowing God to lead. I’m telling you, He’s got you, and His timing is everything. Everything!

Good Night♥️

It’s Harvest Season: Are You Ready?

Honestly, I don’t have too much to add to last year’s memory. I believe it speaks for itself. It’s harvest season! My question is—Are you ready?

Facebook Memory: May 22, 2023

You have put in the work as well as remained patient. Now it’s time to reap what you’ve sown. Yes, it’s harvest season. Go get your blessings!♥️

Can’t you hear Keith Pringle singing, “Let Us Not Be Weary”? “For in due season we shall reap if we faint not.”

It’s your time!

Be Blessed♥️

Perspective

Perspective: a particular attitude towards or a way of regarding something: a point of view

Perspectives change. They are not set in stone. The way we viewed things last year, ten years, or even two days ago, can change. Y’all, it is very possible to wake up one morning and see things completely differently. Yes, it is actually possible to have a whole new outlook on life.

Your future will always be bright and full of love and life.♥️

Love you,

You Already Have The Answer

You keep asking God for signs, for confirmation. But, you already have the answer. God gave you the answer a while ago. Now, it is up to you whether or not you accept the answer and act on it. Meaning, God has done His job now the ball is in your court.♥️ ~Shaun

Worthy

Didn’t really know what to share today. Honestly, I didn’t feel too much like writing nor sharing a Facebook memory. After reading my journal entry from last year, I decided I would share an excerpt from it. This was after my mom had passed and I was thinking about my life going forward. I was thinking about opportunities I had missed and/or felt I was unworthy or unqualified to take. Here’s what I wrote:

Shaun’s Journal Entry: May 18, 2023

One of the scriptures [Matthew 10:9] does reference not taking anything with you but totally and completely depending on God. Heard this [in my spirit] as I was subscribing to the UN career pages. In my mind I kept thinking I needed more experience and needed to make my trip to Geneva happen, all while I kept hearing to leave it in God’s hands. A little while later, I began thinking about Momma and her dreams. I began feeling like maybe God didn’t believe she was worthy enough for good things and perhaps He felt the same about me. This really made me sad and think that if I wanted it, I would just have to take it. Meaning, I was going to once again override God because I felt he cared less about my dreams than He did others. During this time, I also started hearing how Momma had opportunities that she did not take. Her life could have been better but she chose differently. So it wasn’t that God did not believe she was worthy… just heard, SHE did not believe she was worthy. Whew!!!

“Whew!!!” was right! What a revelation because I did not believe I was worthy either. I believed that some opportunities were only meant for people who clearly fit the role. I was and am only someone with a dream who is trusting God while trying to navigate to where I want to be. I keep getting opportunities, but will they get me to my dreams? Hmmm… A question only God can answer.

So, this graphic was also included in the entry. Not sure who originally posted it or where I got it.

Well, I guess I was/am being redirected to something better. As always, my job is to allow God to lead while I trust, obey, and follow. I must continue to believe that my dreams will be fulfilled. I have to believe.

Last night I received an email from a United Nations (UN) careers page I had registered with. Probably the same one I had mentioned in my entry. Unfortunately, I was not able to register for the opportunity I would have liked to have participated in because it had already passed. So, I’m not sure if me receiving the email was just a sign that I am still on the right path or encouragement to not give up on my dreams (because this was the first email I had received in months). Either way, it was a much needed reminder that God hasn’t forgotten about me, and that I am worthy to be there and worthy of all my other dreams as well.

Anyhoo, I think this is it for today. It’s still raining. Think I will do what I wanted to do yesterday, lay around and watch old murder/mystery shows. However, if the sun chooses to shine, I am getting out of this house! Praying you have a lovely day.♥️

How Are You Reacting To Stress?

Found the quote below in my journal entry dated May 16, 2019. It’s definitely a much needed reminder that we may be surrounded by stressors; however, we do not have to be stressed.

In that entry, I mentioned that I had shared the quote the day before (May 15, 2019), but I do not remember seeing it under yesterday’s Facebook memories. Or… maybe it was there but wasn’t meant to be shared until today. Hmmm… Only God knows. Smile♥️

It’s not the things around you that causes stress but your thoughts about them that causes the stress.

Repeat after me—

“I refuse to be stressed. God has everything under control.”

Love you,

Shaun
