I Told The Storm

Right now, the song “I Told The Storm” by Greg O’Quin ‘N Joyful Noyze is on repeat in my head. Nothing crazy going on here, but my spirit is definitely handling business on that side. So, I’m going to let it do what needs to be done.🙏🏽

The song says—

“I told the storm to pass. Storm you can’t last. Go away. I command you to move today. Storm, when God speaks, Storm, you have to cease. That’s what I told the storm.”

Whew!!! Listen, the storms cannot and will not last!

Talk about POWERFUL!!

Y’all, God is so good. So amazing! Amen

Growth Requires Patience

Just a little food for thought…

Trust the process.

If you want to grow, you must be willing to 1) put in the work and 2) be patient. Yes…patient. Patient with yourself and with the process. I believe we would all prefer that growth happen overnight or instantly; however, it doesn’t. It takes time, effort, determination, and sometimes courage. All of which requires patience.

I hope your Monday has started well. Remember to breathe and take breaks when needed.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Don’t Settle

Here’s what I shared six years ago on January 12, 2019. Honestly, I don’t have much to add. I believe I said it all then.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

This is the social media find I was referring to.

Just Look Up

Singing—

“Just look up. Tomorrow’s sun will let you know your life’s not done. Just look around. Love’s pouring down. Trust in God.”

Those are a few lines from The Winans’ song, “Trust In God.”

This morning, I’m keeping my prayers going. Praying those experiencing grief, sadness, or anger due to their loss don’t lose their trust and faith in God. Let God send a sign of hope their way, even if it’s just a glimpse.🙏🏽

Trust In God” by The Winans

According to the song, God bottles up our every tear and understands our every fear, meaning we matter. Despite what things may look and feel like, God cares and loves us, and He’ll never leave us.

Let’s continue to trust Him.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Hello Sunday

Good Morning☀️

In high school, two teachers told me I could be and achieve anything I imagined—my English teacher, Ms. Tressin, and my Spanish teacher, Ms. Dreher. They both knew my dreams and aspirations and fed them. I am so grateful God placed them in my life.

Here’s a card and a quote from Ms. Tressin that was given to me over 30 years ago.

The Tennyson poem and painting she’s referring to is “The Lady of Shalott.” Our “little” English class was a Literature class. I used to enjoy reading different styles of literature. I loved that class.

This is the outside of the card, which has the painting of “The Lady of Shalott.”

And the added quote (I was the only student who received one☺️)—

“If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.”

This is why I still believe.🥰

This is all I have at the moment. I pray you have a fabulous Sunday!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Good Night (35)

I pray you had a wonderful day. Mine was pretty good. I had to force myself to stop following the updates on the fires. Not because I no longer cared but because it was affecting me a little too much. I felt like I should’ve been there helping but couldn’t. This morning, my eyes were hurting so badly from scrolling through news feeds and crying all night. It’s all so heartbreaking.

Tonight, when I put down my phone, it’s staying down until I get ready to write my “Hello Sunday.” I’m still praying—won’t stop—but leaving everything in God’s hands. Amen

I pray you have a restful night.♥️

Love you always,

Shaun

My Journey With God, No. 49

It’s time.

Been feeling Trent Shelton’s message more and more lately. I guess you could say that’s what these past 30 years (since the knowledge of my firstborn’s conception) have been—me living in survival mode. Now, it’s time to thrive.♥️ ~Shaun
