Quality Time With God

How many of you can honestly say that the time you spend with God is of high quality?

Well, sadly, I can’t. Even when my main focus should be on Him, it always somehow ends up on me. Me and my life and my needs. Below is one the “Wednesday Writings” from July 27, 2022. I decided to share it in its entirety instead of only adding the link. It’s my reminder to get my priorities straight and start giving God kind of time He more than deserves.

“Wednesday Writings” July 27, 2022

Today, I am beginning a little late. Decided everything else could wait. I needed to spend some quality time with God. Do not get me wrong, I talk to God all day long; however, while I’m talking, I’m also doing a million other things. So if my focus is not solely on God can I truly say I’m spending time with Him? Hmm…

Well, I began today a bit differently. In stead of me doing a lot of talking– asking a thousand questions and trying to figure things out– I sat still and listened. If you did not know, so many answers can be found while sitting still and giving God your undivided attention. You should try it!

So, yes.. today, I sat still, listened and found my answers. I hear You, God. Smiling

Thanks for reading. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Praying you have a lovely weekend, and that if you have been slacking on spending quality time with God, you’d consider it.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Ask

Shared on June 13, 2023. Image Credit: Unknown

Not sure who wrote the message on the image above. I shared it on this day last year, and thought it would be good to share it again.

Message: Ask for what you want. As I have often heard, the answer will either be— “Yes,” “No,” or “Not now.”

What I have learned is all of the answers have a purpose. “Yes” means it will happen. “No” means God has something better planned. We may not understand or accept the “No,” but it’s often for our protection—physically, mentally, emotionally, and/or spiritually. “Not now” usually means God is still working on a few things, and sometimes that thing is us. Smile. Remember, delayed is not denied.

So go ahead and ask. Then, learn to be content with the answer if it’s not what you want to hear. Believe me, it only means God has a bigger and better plan.♥️

Love you always,

Shaun

Push Through

You got this!

Push through feelings of awkwardness, anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. Push through insecurities, thoughts of inferiority, and feelings of shame. Push through the setbacks, disappointments, feelings of abandonment, and heartaches. Push through the anger, sadness, and loneliness. Push through until you make it to the other side. I can attest that it will not be easy, but it will be so worth it.

Oh… While you are pushing, make sure you are also praying. Prayer and continuous communication with God will sustain you once you get there.

Praying you have a beautifully, blessed day.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Prayers for Strength, Guidance and Patience

The quote below was taken from a book of encouraging words my mom had written a while back. Thought I would also include guidance and patience because all three are definitely needed—strength, guidance, and patience.♥️ ~Shaun

Praying for strength, guidance, and patience while waiting for the right solution.

Stay Prayed Up: Stay Covered

There is a lot going on. A lot going on spiritually. Stay in prayer. Stay covered.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. … —John 10:10 NKJV

The enemy is out to steal, kill, and destroy; not necessarily physically, but spiritually and mentally. Remember, who you are. You are God’s child.

Again, stay covered. Be mindful of your surroundings. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s not right. It’s not your nerves or anxiety. Pray before you move, and ask God for protection and guidance.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Increase Will Cost You: Are You Sure You Are Ready?

Years ago, everyone was praying the prayer of Jabez. It was posted everywhere. Couldn’t turn without seeing or hearing, “Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory…” Everyone wanted more. But, did they ever consider that a larger territory, or increase, would mean more responsibility? Did they know it would cost them their comfort, and often their peace?

Be mindful and certain of what you ask for because you just might get it.

Good Night♥️

The Last Dance

So, in the late nineties I was a basketball fanatic. I lived and breathed basketball. Never played any sports in my life, but I loved watching basketball. When I tell you I used to be so hyped during basketball season! I knew the stats on so many players, and was obsessed with collecting basketball cards (spent way too much money). Don’t know when or how I got started collecting cards, but once I started I couldn’t stop. I am so glad that phase only lasted a few years.

Fun fact: I wanted to be a sports journalist back then. Even saw myself doing interviews.☺️

Here’s what I shared while watching Michael Jordan’s documentary, “The Last Dance.”

Facebook Memories: April 19, 2020

As you can tell, I was so excited! Michael was the GOAT! I imagine I was smiling for days. What a wonderful time in history. I even have the newspaper article from the win somewhere. Thought I had shared it, too. Maybe I shared it while watching another episode of the series. If so, I’ll share it with you later.

Y’all, I just love my life and my memories. My journal entries keep me entertained! If something happened back then, I probably wrote about it. I even have magazines from back then. So many stories and relationships documented. What a life we have lived.

By the way, I am trying my best not to get sucked into watching the escalating conflict that’s happening right now. Praying for the whole world, and leaving things in God’s hands. After I had my PTSD moment the other day, I went to read a chapter in Zechariah and ended up in the book of Zephaniah. If you are unfamiliar with it or haven’t read it in a while, I recommend that you do. It’s extremely short (only three chapters), but very telling. As much as we would like to control things, some things cannot be controlled. There have always been wars and famines since the beginning of time. We just never know when or where it will happen next. My prayer to God is always, if only for a few seconds, let the world experience total peace. That’s the harmony I seek.

Didn’t mean to end it on such a somber note. Life is so interesting…

Wishing you a wonderful day!♥️

Love you,
