Four years ago, I wroteJust Ask. In the post I described a time where I wanted something and God responded instantly. Which, at the time, was a common occurrence. I would nonchalantly think of or mention something I wanted and God would deliver. Just like that! Well, lately I have not asked for anything. At least, not anything specific, and I’m not sure why. However, what I do know is I need to get my “ask” back. Yes, I need to start asking again.
Anyhoo… This is all I have for you now. I pray you receive whatever you ask for. Wishing you a very blessed day.♥️
Not sure who wrote the message on the image above. I shared it on this day last year, and thought it would be good to share it again.
Message: Ask for what you want. As I have often heard, the answer will either be— “Yes,” “No,” or “Not now.”
What I have learned is all of the answers have a purpose. “Yes” means it will happen. “No” means God has something better planned. We may not understand or accept the “No,” but it’s often for our protection—physically, mentally, emotionally, and/or spiritually. “Not now” usually means God is still working on a few things, and sometimes that thing is us. Smile. Remember, delayed is not denied.
So go ahead and ask. Then, learn to be content with the answer if it’s not what you want to hear. Believe me, it only means God has a bigger and better plan.♥️
That was the post I shared last year—November 19, 2022. The segment below is what I also shared that day when I reposted a picture of me meeting Senator Cory Booker at a political event on November 19, 2018. Not going to share that picture (laughing) because I was cheesing so hard that gum was hanging out the corner of my mouth. Y’all I was so happy about that meeting and here’s why.
Facebook Memory: November 19, 2022
I’m going to share this memory EVERY time it pops up because it’s a reminder for me that God does listen and answer. Sometimes I find myself focusing so much on the big things I’ve asked for and received that I forget about the smaller things in between.
About a week or so before this picture was taken, I casually mentioned to a friend that I wanted to meet Cory Booker. The next thing I knew, he was making a quick stop in Hattiesburg. I needed this memory, this reminder that no request is too big for God to fill.
Y’all, God hears us and He does answer. We don’t have to beg for what we want, just ask and leave it alone. We don’t have to find ways to help Him make it happen. Just ask and leave it alone. If it’s meant to be, it’ll happen.
That meeting was pretty cool because it showed me the power of a simple ask, as well as the love, kindness and grace of God. Y’all, I just love the way He loves me. His gifts are always tailored just for me. They make me feel like a child opening gifts on Christmas morning—I be so giddy.
A year earlier, I wanted to meet someone else and a few weeks later I met them—in Hattiesburg. I didn’t even have to leave town. God sent both of them to me. How wonderful was that!
Anyhoo…I am so grateful for that memory and reminder that nothing is impossible. All I have to do is ask. That’s love.
Okay…now I’m crying.
My prayer for you is that you experience God’s love as well. Those were examples of pretty big gifts; however, every day I receive gifts. Every single day. And I attempt to acknowledge all of them such as being alive, safe, loved, and healthy. My kids are safe and healthy. These are amazing gifts! I am truly blessed.
That’s all I have right now. Wishing you a wonderful Sunday and blessed week.

Shaun’s Journal Entry, June 13, 2022
I ended the entry with a screenshot of a post I had shared earlier that year. I won’t share the screenshot, but I will share the message that was attached to it.
Ask, then believe.
Listen, ask for what you desire, then believe it will happen.♥️
Doubt is very LOUD! Sometimes it’s so loud that before we even ask, we’re doubting. If this is the case, why ask? Why waste time asking if we don’t believe?
If you truly want what you’re asking for – BELIEVE! Yes, doubt is loud but belief is more POWERFUL! Can’t you hear CeCe Winans singing, Believe For It? Smile. I can.♥️ ~ Shaun
Perception – a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression
Question – If you perceive something to be true, is it actually true?
Social media has opened my eyes about the way we perceive things. Even when in agreement, we never truly understand the other person’s full perspective unless we ask, or they explain it in detail. Most of the time we assume that because we are in agreement, our perspectives are the same. When in reality, they are not.
Honestly, perceptions can be very deceptive. Especially when we attempt to interpret another person’s feelings or words. Have you ever wondered how someone perceived you based on your words, feelings or actions? Do you believe their perception would be accurate if they never spoke to or interacted with you? More than likely, not. So why do we assume our perceptions of others to be true?
My advice, if you really want to know how a person feels, or understand the meaning behind their words or messages, ASK. Also, people change over time. Just because they said something or felt a certain way a year ago, doesn’t mean they feel the same way today. Again, ASK.
As always, thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your day!
Hello Sunday! Not going to write much today. I’m on a much needed family vacation with my mom and siblings. This is the first time all of us have been together since before the pandemic. Honestly, I did not realize how much I needed this. Family.
So today I’m sharing last year’s blog, Just Ask. Thought it was fitting since yesterday’s blog was God Knows. I guess you could say they’re complementary. Just think, God knows exactly what we need even before we know we need it. Which means He will grant us the desires of our hearts without us asking. As I explained in Just Ask, sometimes it can be a simple thought or request and Voila! it’s done. Whew! Getting emotional thinking about how much God loves me. Y’all, He really does love me. Smiling. Grateful.
Well, that’s all I have for today. Wishing you a wonderful Sunday! Here is Just Ask:
Just Ask
I’m so emotional right now! You’re probably thinking, when is she not. Lol! I am just going to drop this gem right here and I dare you to use it! …
