Where’s Your Mind These Days?

Good Morning!

Honestly, I don’t have much more to add to what I wrote six years ago. All I can say is it’s true, your life will follow whatever dominates or preoccupies your mind. Change your mindset and your life will change.

Sooo…

Where’s your mind nowadays?

Definitely something worth assessing, right?

I shiver at the thought of waking up six years from now and being in the same place or headspace.

Don’t you?

It’s In The Knowing

It’s in the knowing. Not only knowing who you are or who you are not, but who’s in control. Below is a reblog of last year’s post.

Last year I was on a mission to make this side of 50 different from the previous 50 years. At the time, I thought by abruptly ending certain behaviors life would be different, and it was to a certain extent. However, that was only physically and mentally. Then, the pruning began. Now, the pruning process was all spiritual and seemed to have lasted forever. The change I thought could happen at the flip of a switch actually took months. I thought for sure I was being torn apart, but I knew that in the end the process was remaking and remolding me so that this side of 50 would definitely be different. For that, I am forever grateful.

My advice for if you ever find yourself being pruned, don’t resist it. Release control and allow God to do whatever He’s going to do. I promise you life will be so much easier when you do. Love you.♥️ ~ Shaun

Here’s what I wrote last year, “I know who I am because I finally understand, and have accepted, who I am not.” Little did I know, I still had a long way to go. That pruning was a beast!

Life

Not A Coincidence

Just had to stop and share this!! THIS is how God works in my life. Listen, a change is coming. Change is happening even when we can’t see it. But this one, I feel. I feel it so deeply within. And it’s not a bad change. It’s a good one.

So, not even 10 minutes ago I read a post by fellow blogger, Caramel—“I’ve Been Running Ever Since.” Then, immediately afterwards, I saw a post by Trent Shelton (like it hadn’t even been posted a minute) and he had added the exact same song Caramel mentioned in her post, Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.” I don’t know if it’s the song of the day or what. However, I do know a change is happening. It’s happening NOW!♥️

THIS is Year50…

Living In Intentionality

If more kindness, love, light, peace, humility, compassion, empathy, hope and so forth is what I seek, I must be intentional about putting it into the atmosphere. I have to do more to make sure it is seen and shared, whether I am the one creating the content or sharing someone else’s. I know I won’t always get it right. However, I am willing to try. I refuse to believe there are more bad things happening in the world than good. The good just are not being highlighted enough.

Here is a quote from another fav of mine, President Barack Obama.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

President Barack Obama

I have to be intentional about promoting the change I am seeking.

Wishing you a lovely week!♥️

Be Blessed,

Smile, It Happened and Is Still Happening

Life is forever evolving and changing. Instead of crying over what was, smile because it was. Smile because you had the opportunity to experience it. Then, smile even bigger because you now have the opportunity to experience something even greater.

Facebook Memory: January 11, 2019

Happy Friday! Here’s today’s social media find. So, I’ve been reading old journal entries from 20+ years ago and reminiscing about the good old days (BTW: Today’s MJB’s birthday🎉). It’s amazing how time flies. If I could go back, I would definitely handle some situations and relationships differently. There were people in my past I wish I would have kept in touch with (grateful for FB reconnections 🤗). There were opportunities that I let slip away because I thought I was “oh so” brilliant 🤷🏽‍♀️ or because of fear. Either way, I lived and learned. One thing for sure, I can’t continue to look back on what could’ve, should’ve, would’ve, or might’ve happened. I can only look forward and enjoy the present ride.

I’m truly grateful for all of my wonderful experiences, whether they lasted for years or only a few seconds (that smile did something to me 😉).

Make the best of every moment. Don’t spend too much time thinking about how the story could’ve ended or will end. Enjoy the here and now.

Yes, it happened and it is still happening. Stay present and embrace the beauty of what’s happening now.

Just because a particular experience ended doesn’t mean something new is not already happening. God is forever working even when we cannot see it or feel it. Remember that every new day brings new opportunities and experiences. If we continue to dwell on what was, we will miss the beauty of what’s happening now. So, keep smiling. Our story is far from over. The best is yet to come!♥️

Change Is Necessary

Sitting here thinking…

Just watched a new episode of Tyler Perry’s Sistas. It’s a new season with new writers and new characters. A lot of “new,” and many fans are not feeling the changes. It’s funny because many of the same people were complaining because they wanted change. Hilarious.

Anyhoo… That got me thinking about change. Some people like change while others do not. Some people adjust to change quicker than others. Personally, I always try to find the positive within the change. Whether people like it or not, change is inevitable and so necessary. It’s necessary for growth. New opportunities are born from change. Just imagine what the world would be like without change. Imagine what our life would be like without change. Scary, huh?!

Yes…change is necessary.

Looking forward to the new opportunities this change will create. Gotta keep the bigger picture in mind. There are so many great things to come.

That’s enough thinking for tonight. Time to wind down. Praying y’all have a wonderful night. Love you!♥️
