Everyone Can’t Handle Your Truth

This is so true. Everyone cannot handle our truths. It took me a very long time to realize this—basically, a lifetime. For years I believed people wanted to know the authentic version of me. I thought I could be free and open with people who seemed to like me. It took many heartbreaks and letdowns to learn that most people didn’t want to know the real me, they only wanted to interact with and know the version they could tolerate (not accept). This is why I only have a handful of close friends, and my closest get to experience all of me.

In one of my very first blog posts (June 2018) I wrote—

“It’s not easy being transparent in a world that glorifies what’s fake and shuns reality. Reality isn’t pretty. Reality shows vulnerability– the bumps, bruises and scars.”

This blog site, “It’s Shaun’s World,” was originally created to be a space where I could be authentic and transparent. I really wanted to share my world with others. However, over the years I learned to tone it down and only release bits and pieces of me in small doses. Not everyone likes happiness. Some don’t like quirkiness. And many don’t like when people share their vulnerabilities with the world. Those are things I guess are supposed be kept private or only shared with friends or a therapist. I believed people wanted to know the human side of people—because that’s what I want to get to know, the real—when in reality they only want a character.

Anyhoo… I could go on and on. Here’s what I shared two years ago.

“Being transparent has its limits. Our lives were never meant to be an open book for all to read. Knowing when, what and with whom to share is vital. Everyone can’t handle your truth.♥️”

Yes, unlike in 2018, I now know this is true. Everyone can’t handle my truth—which is the reason I sometimes write posts that I never share—even when they’re my true experiences. Not everyone would or could understand, and that’s okay.

Well, that’s my truth for now. I pray you have a lovely Friday and beautifully, blessed weekend. Love you!♥️

You Are Priceless

Here’s a caption I wrote on April 7, 2019 when I shared Goldcast’s post of Jeremy Anderson’s video, “Do You Know Your Worth?”.

No matter what happens to you, or how worthless you may feel at times, know that your life has value. You’re here for a reason. God, not man, determines your worth, and to Him, you’re priceless.

Your presence matters. Never doubt your worth. Love you!♥️

Reminder

You are bigger than the box they try to fit you in. You know your assignment, your purpose, your calling; stick with it.♥️ ~Shaun

Sometimes it’s not others placing us in a box. It’s us doing it to ourselves. It’s time to destroy that box.

I Am God’s Child

Hey Y’all!

I promise you this is my final blog for today. If you have been following my blog for a while then you know I believe in transparency. When I began blogging, one of the things that really bothered me was the lack of transparency with people. This was one of the issues I had with social media and people always sharing their ups but never their downs. Well, since I wanted transparency, transparency was what I decided to give.

Overall, I am a very positive and happy person, no lie. I really do get excited about the tiniest things that happen. I can see a butterfly and be like God sent it my way just to see me smile, you know, because He just loves me so much. Smiling. That’s really me 90-95% of the time. Honestly, I used to believe something was wrong with me because I could not stay mad very long nor could I wish anyone bad, even after being done wrong.

Recently, I started paying attention to different scriptures about God rewarding us in the presence of our enemies. I have heard them all of my life but somehow those scriptures never resonated with me because I never believed I had enemies. Call me naive, but y’all, I never even thought anyone would want to wish me bad or see me hurt. I hear people saying things about other people, but never believed I could ever be included in someone’s ill thoughts. Well, I finally realize that everyone is not like me. That there are people out there who would love to see me fail or hurt.

Well, I’m not going to fail because God does love me and He loves blessing me. Yes, I may stumble, may even hurt at times, but I will ALWAYS bounce back. I am God’s child, and He loves seeing me smile and making me happy. THIS I KNOW to be true. So whatever weapon that has been formed against me will NEVER prosper or stop me from prospering. Amen

God’s got me!♥️

Good Night

The Process

Today has been one of those strangely, weird days. Seems like I have been jumping through hoops all day. I’m tired. Would take a nap, but it’s already after 5:00 PM. Hopefully I’ll have more clarity and energy tomorrow.

The good news is, I am still here and still blessed. I am also God’s child, which makes me royalty. Smiling

I believe the following scripture sums it all up:

“… From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” Luke 12:48 NIV
