Just came across a post of Fred Hammond—one of the greatest male gospel artists of my time—singing Commissioned’s hit song “Running Back To You.” Every time I hear this song my spirit automatically goes into praise and worship mode. Listen, if you have found yourself a little distant from God and need to reconnect, please take a minute and listen to “Running Back To You.” You’re guaranteed to reconnect.

Sitting Here Counting My Blessings
Singer, Koryn Hawthorne, begins her song, “Look At God,” with “Sitting here counting my blessings…”
I have so many blessings—too numerous to count. When I tell you I am truly beyond blessed; and I am forever amazed by God’s love, goodness, mercy, and grace.
I read one of my journal entries from this day ten years ago (September 7, 2014). Where I was then looks and feels nothing like where I am today. Where I am now is where I wanted to be mentally and emotionally then, but didn’t believe it was possible. All I felt was hopelessness. But God!! When I tell you I put my everything in Him and He did the rest.
So yes, I’m sitting here counting my blessings.
Listen, hold on. Life does get better. It might not seem like it when things are dark and you can’t see a way out, but it does get better. It does.

Hello Sunday
Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend has been pleasant thus far.🌸
Yesterday, my daughter came home for a very short visit—she’s going back home this afternoon. Even though this visit has been short, we have definitely made the most of it. We have had a few of our deep conversations about politics, the Olympics, and life in general. Had oysters and crab claws from one of our favorite restaurants. And we ended our night watching Adam Sandler and his pals in Mr. Deeds. Great company, good food, and much needed laughs.
Later this morning, I’m going to church with her and her fiancé. Her fiancé’s family’s church is having their Friends and Family Day service and brunch. So I’ll get a few extra hours in with her before she leaves.
Y’all, God is good. So grateful for the love he brings me and gives. You already know, I am so very blessed.

Sweet Jesus, I’m Still Here!
That’s how my journal entry from July 20, 2017 started, “Sweet Jesus, I’m still here!” I was praising God despite what I was going through at the time. And after reading that particular entry, that basically spelled out everything I was dealing with, I had to humble myself and thank God for where I am today. Y’all, I made it!
The things I am currently dealing with are nowhere in comparison with what I was going through back then. Honestly, I feel embarrassed about my complaints. God has brought me through some very tough times, and I’m still here!
Please forgive me, Lord, for not being as grateful as I should’ve been. Amen
A couple of weeks ago, I was notified that I had won a ticket to a Paint & Chat (too early for sipping) event. Here’s what I painted and what I decided to recreate moments ago, digitally. I needed that painting session yesterday and to meet new people. It was very therapeutic.☺️
