Hello! I’m Praying for You

This morning I am sending up prayers for every single soul on this planet. Yes… Every. Single. Soul. Y’all, I wonder what would happen if we prayed for souls instead of people. In my opinion, praying for people in general can be a bit complicated because we tend to see faces when we pray. I believe this leads to biases and causes us to alter our prayers, or even skip a few people. However, when we pray for souls we are less likely to tailor our prayers. Just a thought.

Yes, YOU!

On the subject of prayer…

This morning, I came across a random name I had written in a journal entry on this date. It was the name of a young man I did not know. However, I wrote in my journal that I had to remember him and his name. He had passed away from AIDS-induced pneumonia. From what I had written, I had been following his story for a few weeks. Y’all, I looked him up after I read that entry and still have no idea who he was, but I had been praying for him. I won’t mention his name; however, as promised, I am remembering him today, as well as praying for his family and friends.

Y’all, prayer doesn’t cost a thing. Nothing. Let’s keep every single soul uplifted in prayer.

Love you!♥️

Hello Sunday

I believe I will make the following Facebook memory my screensaver. I am finishing up two papers that are due by the end of the day, and I need the encouragement.

Facebook Memory: November 12, 2022

YOU were born to WIN! I love you and God loves you too. Have a blessed day!♥️

I was born to WIN, and so were you!

On another note, so many exciting things are happening this week! Besides this being the final day of this term (Woohoo!), two of my besties are turning 50 this week. One has a birthday tomorrow, November 13th, and the other on Tuesday, November 14th (friends since age 2 –♥️). Then on Friday, November 17th, a documentary about my fave (added the “e” for those who cringe when I write “fav”), Mr. Tyler Perry, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video – Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story. Woohoo!

This is going to be some week!♥️

Drown Out the Noise

In the words of Smokie Norful—

The noise of my day
The depression that steals my voice
The confusion that arrests my life
So I can’t even make a choice

Life seems so loud
I’ve been too proud
So Lord, what do I do?
I just need a word from You

Drown out the noise
Let me hear Your voice
Oh Lord, I know need a word from You

Song: I Need a Word

Breathe. God’s got you.♥️

God Has Something Better Planned

I’m learning more and more not to become discouraged when things don’t work out as I thought they would. Either things do not happen because 1) it’s not time, 2) it’s for our protection, or 3) it just isn’t meant to be. No matter the reasons, God always has something better planned. Always

Unfortunately, my uncle did not win the election. There were a few hiccups (ran out of ballots at several precincts) in one of the major counties. Yes, voter suppression at its finest. Anyhoo… In my opinion, my uncle did very well. With 94% of the votes in, he received nearly 42% of the votes (over 300K votes). To me that’s pretty awesome. To go from no one knowing your name six months ago to having over 300 thousand votes is good.

Well y’all, my Year50 continues. It was nice to experience politics from a different point of view. I have absolutely no idea what other adventures are in store for the next seven months. I will say that so far things have been much different from the first 50 years. Not in a bad way, just different and interesting. The way I view life is so different from before. I’m much calmer now, and expecting the unexpected is becoming the norm. Yeah… nothing really surprises me anymore. People are going to people and life is going to continue doing what it does. No need to stress about it, right?

Anyway…

Thanking God for peace, grace and exceptional love. I am truly blessed.

Good Night!♥️

Propelling Forward

Random picture from November 6, 2016

Facebook Memory: November 6, 2016

I love my life. Someone on Twitter asked, “If you could change one thing about your childhood, what would it be?” I thought and thought. For years I wished that things were different. I wished that we had more. That I was loved more. That I didn’t have to go through so many things that could have caused me to lose my mind. But I responded with, “I wouldn’t change a thing.” Everything I’ve gone through has shaped and molded me into the person I am today. I’m able to help others because of what I’ve been through. I believe that’s what God wants us to do. Our past negative experiences aren’t for us to wallow in and complain about. They’re there to inspire others. While we’re going through difficulties we usually can’t see a way out.

If you’re still breathing, it means you’ve made it! You may not be where you want to be, but you’re here!!

I know this is long. I’m used to journaling. I just wanted to share my thoughts. I woke up this morning thinking about all of the turmoil around us. Like everything else, we’ll make it through this. My great great grandma, Madear, was not a “saint.” I can probably count on one hand how many times she actually went to church. However, one thing she did every morning, as soon as she got out of bed, was say a prayer and read Psalms 23. She did this EVERY morning. Whenever I’m going through something I always remember Psalms 23. Like I said, she wasn’t a “saint,” but she instilled in me the value of ALWAYS putting God first no matter what. I miss her so much. I thank God for placing her in my life.

That’s all. Be blessed!🙏🏾❤️

That was written seven years ago. Today, my answer is still the same, I wouldn’t change a thing. Yesterday I came across a short segment of a discussion between Jay Shetty and Tony Robbins (Escape Your Misery). Although it was only eleven minutes long, the message was so powerful. It was about the choices we make after experiencing difficulties. Either we allow them to take us further down or we allow them to propel us forward. Over my lifetime, I have always attempted the latter. Maybe not like Tony, but I have and I plan to continue doing so.

Looking back—everything I went through made me the woman I am today; and everything I am currently going through is shaping the woman I am to become tomorrow. Taking no experience for granted. Using them all as fuel to push forward.

Enjoy your day!♥️

Hello Sunday

Happy Sunday! I know I have been sharing a lot of Facebook memories lately instead of actually writing. I have exactly one week left in this term. Afterwards, I will begin drawing and sharing new writings again. Until then, please enjoy my memories.

Facebook Memory: November 5, 2022

Today, I encourage you to stay focused on the bigger picture. The goal. The dream. The mission. The purpose.

Gotta stay focused.

I also found this gem from the same day.

It definitely takes a while to build a dream. Seems like I have been building most of my life. My dreams may not have come to fruition yet, but I know they’re coming. I can feel it! I cannot stop working towards them.

It’s reminders like Tyler’s posts; meeting Dr. David Satcher and Chefs Leah Chase and Marcus Samuelsson; seeing Carol Moseley Braun pop up in my Facebook memories; and endless inspirational and motivational YouTube videos from too many people to name, that keep me going. They remind me of my “why”. There is so much more I am meant to do. So many more lives I am meant to touch. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am meant to help those in need. Not on a local, state or national level, but on a global level. Last night I dreamed I was somewhere helping a group of people and I was speaking French. Y’all I have to stay focused and push through this process. I must see this thing through.

Listen, I love y’all! Thank you so much for supporting me and reading my blogs. I really do appreciate you. As I mentioned above, soon I will be back with new content. Praying you have a fabulous Sunday.

Be Blessed!♥️

The Wait

Facebook Memory: November 4, 2022

Be patient. Everything will happen at its appointed time.♥️

It will happen.

No matter how long you have waited, keep waiting. It is better to wait for God’s best than settle for less and then try to mold what you settled for into God’s best. It doesn’t work that way. I don’t know about you, but I would rather wait for God’s best knowing that everything He has for me is only for me. Yes… ONLY for me.

My advice—be patient and wait on God. Allow Him to lead. He hasn’t forgotten about you. Remember, He is always working and everything will happen when it is time. Believe me, nothing or no one can stop it.

Love you!♥️
