Keep Your Head Up

You have yet to see your brightest days.

I am a living witness that the saying is true, it is always darkest before dawn. I will never understand why, but it is. However, despite our darkest experiences, there’s great news! Nothing and/or no one has the power to stop God’s purpose for our lives. Nope… not at all. Instead of focusing on our pains, disappointments, hurts, and setbacks, let’s keep our heads up and stay focused on the Son (smile). Brighter days are coming.♥️ ~Shaun

Do Not Throw In The Towel

Facebook Memory: March 18, 2023

Hold on. God is working. He’s already set things in motion. Listen, you cannot afford to give up now.♥️

It’s true, you cannot afford to give up. Your purpose is much too great.

My friend, push through; pray through; but whatever you do, please do not throw in the towel. Do not settle for where you are, thinking this is it, this is how life is meant to be. Nope! God has many more years of blessings planned for your life. Just hold on a little while longer. I promise you, God is working everything out. You will get through this.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Trusting God’s Plan

Here is an excerpt from last year’s Hello Sunday, which was written on this date.

Hello Sunday: February 26, 2023

Ultimately, God is in control and His plans reign supreme. I trust Him, completely.

Here are a few other things I have learned over this short period of time:

  • Life is going to happen. I can try to manage it but I cannot control it.
  • Suppressing my feelings only delays progress. In order to truly move forward, I have to feel and be honest about my feelings.
  • Not to panic when things are not going according to my plan. It only means that God has something different in mind or He’s working a few things out.

Today, God is still in control, and I do trust His plans—whatever they may be (tired of trying to figure them out). Honestly, I am beginning to believe not knowing what God is doing is best. Yep, I’d rather not rack my brain trying to figure things out because I have 1) discovered it’s only a waste of time, 2) it’s a waste of emotional and mental energy, and 3) I can never predict what will happen (plot twists on 10!). So, yes, I’m going to leave my life in God’s hands and allow Him to do His job. I know whatever He has planned will ultimately be in my favor (because He loves me), better than I imagined (again, because He loves me), and all for His glory and purpose. Yes, it’s all about Him.

Praying you have a lovely day and wonderful week. Love you!♥️

Food For Thought

I’m just going to leave this right here. Don’t need to add too much more other than what I wrote five years ago (February 9, 2019), “Leave the judging to God and worry about yourself.” That is all. Enjoy your day!😘 ~ Shaun

Well… If we want a better world, we must become better.

Self Love

Originally shared on February 12, 2022

I used to believe doing something nice for myself was self love. I would buy myself something nice, treat myself to a fabulous meal, get a massage, or spend the day doing either everything I wanted to do or nothing at all. That was my definition of self love. Now… Now, it’s more about protecting my peace and my holistic wellbeing with my spiritual and mental wellness being most important.

Here are a few things I have finally learned and implemented:

– Saying “no” to things I don’t want to do, and without feeling guilty (yeah…it used to weigh on me), is self love. “No” is a complete sentence. No explanation needed.

– Protecting my space (physically and mentally) is self love. I am so mindful of who and/or what I allow into my space. Discernment has been key.

– Receiving good things without feeling like I don’t deserve them is self love. Yes, I deserve good things. I deserve God’s best. I mean, I am His child! Smile

– Being nurtured instead of always being the nurturer is self love. Listen, once you have been on the receiving side you can’t imagine settling for anything less.

– Putting myself and my needs first is self love. I believe this has allowed me to love even deeper. It has definitely strengthened my relationship with God.

It took me forever to get here (decades). And now that I am finally here I have no intentions of going back to life as it was. I love it here. Smiling

Guess you could say this is life beyond Year50.

I pray you have found true self love. Believe me, it’s beautiful and so peaceful.♥️

God Has The Final Say

God’s got you!

No matter what you are going through or what things may look like, remember God has the final say. Keep your head up and keep going because it is not over until God says it’s over. Can’t you hear Maurette Brown Clark singing, “It ain’t over, til God says it’s over. … Keep fighting until the victory is won.” Well, I surely can. Smile (It Ain’t Over)

Wishing you a fabulous week.

Be blessed!♥️

The Good Times

Yesterday, I could not decide which Facebook memory to share so I didn’t share one. Well, instead of sharing my “Hello Sunday” on my social media accounts, I decided to share this memory. It’s a day later, but worth sharing.

Facebook Memory: January 21, 2023

Much too often we remember hurts and disappointments before we remember the good. Today, I encourage you to focus on the good times. The moments that made you smile and feel loved. Have a wonderful day.♥️

Always hold your good memories close and dear.

Praying you have a blessed day and joyful week. May God shower you with unexpected blessings.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Only Two Weeks Left in 2023

Y’all, we are only two weeks away from the glorious 2024! Yes, I am referring to it as glorious because 6/24 is my birthday month as well as my 51st birthday. How cool is that! Looking forward to every wonderful thing God has planned for me. It’s going to be a great year!

Here’s a caption from one of last year’s Facebook memories along with the Hello Sunday post I shared with it.

Facebook Memory: December 18, 2022

Only 2 weeks left in 2022!🎉

Whatever happened or didn’t happen this year, was meant to be. If you’re human like me, I know you celebrated your wins, even the small ones. But your losses, disappointments and setbacks… How did you cope – or attempt to cope – when things didn’t quite go as planned?

Me– I leaned on God a little more. I’m so grateful for His love, mercy and grace.♥️

There is nothing comparable to God’s love, mercy, and grace. He’s so amazing.

Y’all, self-love is everything, but God’s love will always, always, always reign supreme. I just love the way He loves me. If you do not already have a strong relationship with God, I suggest you build one. There is absolutely nothing like it—nothing like it! I cannot stress it enough, I am truly blessed.

Praying you have a peacefully, blessed week. Whatever goals you set for 2023 can still happen! Don’t let the countdown to the new year stop you from achieving as much as you can. You got this!

Love you!♥️

Good Things Are Coming

The two messages below were not shared together before; however, it seems so fitting to share them together today. They actually compliment each other. The first one completes the second’s message.

Facebook Memory: December 11, 2022

Remain hopeful. Good things are headed your way.♥️

Shared on December 11, 2015 without a caption. None was needed.

The message: Remain hopeful. God will never ask you to give up something without having a better plan and/or replacement in place. Be patient. Everything will happen at the right time—God’s time. Until then, continue being obedient and following God’s lead. Before you know it, everything will be replaced with more than you could have ever imagined. Hang in there!

Love you!♥️

Hello! I’m Praying for You

This morning I am sending up prayers for every single soul on this planet. Yes… Every. Single. Soul. Y’all, I wonder what would happen if we prayed for souls instead of people. In my opinion, praying for people in general can be a bit complicated because we tend to see faces when we pray. I believe this leads to biases and causes us to alter our prayers, or even skip a few people. However, when we pray for souls we are less likely to tailor our prayers. Just a thought.

Yes, YOU!

On the subject of prayer…

This morning, I came across a random name I had written in a journal entry on this date. It was the name of a young man I did not know. However, I wrote in my journal that I had to remember him and his name. He had passed away from AIDS-induced pneumonia. From what I had written, I had been following his story for a few weeks. Y’all, I looked him up after I read that entry and still have no idea who he was, but I had been praying for him. I won’t mention his name; however, as promised, I am remembering him today, as well as praying for his family and friends.

Y’all, prayer doesn’t cost a thing. Nothing. Let’s keep every single soul uplifted in prayer.

Love you!♥️
