As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Faith is taking the first step when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
Have faith and take the first step.
Nearly four years ago, I took the first step to fully pursue my dreams. At that time, I couldn’t even see the next step ahead. However, as I moved forward, God revealed more steps.
Y’all… I’m so glad I took that first step. Soooo glad! Although I still can’t see the entire staircase, I can see more steps ahead. Today, I’m not as hesitant to make faith moves and I’ve become more confident with each move. I believe it’s because I’ve learned to trust God’s guidance. When He says wait, I wait—I’m not as impatient as I used to be to make things happen (timing is everything and others’ perceptions don’t matter)—and when He says move, you best believe, I move!
Again, have faith and take the first step. God’s got you!♥️

Y’all, there’s something going on in the social media world. Something that’s very unsettling. I know the algorithms are wild, but when things keep showing up out of the blue because you happened to look at a random video, that’s pretty weird.
Recently, my cousin’s wife, Joy, shared that God told her to let social media go (I’ve included the link to her post below). She said she didn’t completely understand His request because she had just launched a new business and she’s been using social media to promote it as well as interact with clients. But she said she was going to be obedient and let it go. I responded with I understood more than she knew. I’ve begun limiting the amount of time I’m on my personal accounts. A few scrolls then I’m off. Some accounts I have completely logged out of. My goal is to only stick with my professional and business accounts.
Y’all, I believe the social media world is going to be very different in 2025. I know we can’t go back to the way things were, and we’ll adapt. I just need a moment to figure out how to use it so that it’s more beneficial than a burden. Because right now, it’s a burden.

Listen, when I released the limits I had placed on myself by only posting at scheduled times and limiting the number of posts I shared, I had no idea how freeing it would be. Y’all, I feel like a genie without a bottle. Who knew I could post whenever I wanted to?! Smile. Oh, the limits we place on ourselves….
Anyhoo…
Here’s the second part of my message about obedience. It’s not the size of the ask that’s important, nor is it about the task. The importance lies in the act of being obedient.
You see, before I wrote my previous post about obedience, I was tasked with doing something simple but kept delaying it because I didn’t think it was important. Well, after only completing part of the task, I heard that still small voice say that I keep thinking my next is tied to something big or what I consider significant, but in reality, it’s tied to my obedience. Say, what?!!
Y’all, it’s never about the ask or the task but about our obedience.
So, be obedient. You don’t have to understand what God is asking you to do; just do it.♥️

Ha! I had written a whole essay about why I was yet again writing a post about obedience. And as soon as I had finished writing it, I heard to delete it all and be obedient. So this is me being obedient.

I say this all the time, and I am finding it to be very true—obedience matters.
Be obedient, even to the simplest ask. You never know what God is protecting you from or guiding you to.♥️ ~Shaun

A few months ago, I was given a specific date to take another leap into the unknown. As time crept closer to me taking that leap, I kept playing around with the date until one day when I heard loud and clear, “That’s the date.” I was like, “Okay, I hear You, God,” and did what was asked. I was told that delaying what was asked of me would delay what He was trying to do for me. I took the leap even though I didn’t know and still don’t know how things will work out. I’m not sure what He has in store, but the atmosphere did change as soon as I leaped. Honestly, it changed when I decided to be obedient, which was before I actually leaped.
Be obedient and take the leap! As Pastor Joel Osteen said nine years ago, God will not ask you to give up something without giving you something better in return.♥️
