Here’s a great reminder that we must be mindful of the words we speak. Whatever we speak—positive or negative—will become our reality.

Be Blessed!♥️

Have you ever had God ask you to do something that you believed was insignificant, so you didn’t? Or, maybe you decided not to do it because you just didn’t want to? Well, yesterday I almost missed the mark with one of my posts. Little did I know, someone needed that particular message.
The Facebook memory I am now sharing was supposed to be my first post for today. I had decided not to share it because I am currently in a season of change, and y’all, some of these changes are difficult to embrace.
Well, while I was thinking about myself, I found out someone actually needed this exact message. They needed to be reminded that change is going to happen. Instead of resisting it, embrace it. There are so many wonderful blessings waiting on the other side. Here is the message–

Change is inevitable. Y’all, it’s going to happen. And even though God is omnipotent, it’s hard for Him to work if we are not willing to change. So instead of resisting it, embrace it!
Yesss… Embrace the change and watch God work!♥️

From here on, I will try to be more obedient (I’m still human). I have to accept that it’s not about me, it’s about what God is doing through me.
That’s it for today; unless I have the urge to share something else. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Love you!♥️

THIS is Year50.
“I’m in repair.” Those were the words Nicole Avant used during the first few minutes of her conversation with Jay Shetty. Y’all, that simple statement made me burst into tears because I am in repair. Yes… me!
While I was crying, I began thinking about every negative experience I had gone through. Every disappointment, heartache, loss and hurt. The feelings of grief, abandonment, neglect, unworthiness, and betrayal. Every negative thing that I had emotionally detached myself from so that I wouldn’t feel the pain, came flooding back. When I tell you I bawled!
At the end of their conversation they actually revisited the topic of being in repair, and Nicole mentioned crying. That crying was good. My 8th grade Spanish teacher used to say crying cleanses the soul. They’re both right. I needed to cry and may need to shed a few more tear.
Y’all, I am so very grateful God loves me. He always gives me exactly what I need when I need it. There was a segment during the interview where Nicole mentioned pruning a bush or tree and how it didn’t look so good afterwards; however, when spring came, it was beautiful. I’ve said it before, I know I am being pruned. It doesn’t feel good but I know the results will be beautiful.
Here’s the link to Jay Shetty’s conversation with Nicole Avant – Nicole Avant On The Hardest Day of Her Life.
I loved Nicole’s energy! So positive. So full of life. And y’all, she also believes we are all connected. This made me smile. Can’t wait to read her book, “Think You’ll Be Happy: Moving Through Grief with Grit, Grace and Gratitude.”
Y’all, God is good. I am truly, truly blessed and loved.♥️

One of the EASIEST things to do is repeat past mistakes because of impatience. One of the HARDEST things to do is wait because nothing seems to be happening. Today, I encourage you to WAIT!

Wishing you a fabulous Friday and lovely weekend! Love you!♥️

Nine years ago, I had the opportunity to meet someone I had long admired, Dr. David Satcher, former Surgeon General of the United States. I was on cloud nine. At one point in time, I wanted to be the Surgeon General of the United States. Interesting, huh?

This is why I revisit my Facebook memories every day. They remind me of my goals and dreams and so many wonderful moments. That picture reminds me that any and everything is possible. I can still be who I desire to be and achieve any dream imaginable. During that same week, I met chefs Leah Chase and Marcus Samuelsson.
Y’all, I was so excited to meet Dr. Satcher. I’m pretty sure he thought I was a fan of his because of his looks or something. Nah.. I was a fan of his work. At the time, I saw myself doing the exact same thing or something similar. I was like, if he could do it, then so could I. I just had to touch where I wanted to be. Y’all, I was on my way there! I was so close.
I may not be able to recreate that same atmosphere but I can tap back into that mindset. It’s not gone. It’s still here. I needed to see this today. God is so good. I keep telling y’all He loves me. I know He’s going to make sure I get to where I am going.
On another note, both of my shows are back!! Tyler Perry’s The Oval and Sistas did not disappoint! Tuesday, I did okay. Wednesday… Wednesday, I really wanted to jump back into chat mode but I didn’t. I did good. Someone I met in the We Are Sistas group said they would chat with me after the shows so that’s worked. I’m going to be alright.
Looking forward to seeing where this next half of my life takes me. ONLY expecting, claiming, and accepting great things!
Hello Year50!♥️

There’s so much going on right now. So much chaos. Sadly, so many are facing situations where they are surrounded by chaos and distress, and they feel like there is no escape. I’m praying that God gives them a sense of peace. Praying for their protection. And above all, praying that God intervenes soon.
Here’s my Facebook memory from last year. I realize that it may be difficult not to let what’s happening around you affect you; however, do all you can to stay afloat.

They say it’s not the water around the boat that sinks it, but the water that gets inside. My prayer for you today is that the water – drama, chaos, dysfunction, bad vibes – remains outside your boat.

Praying you have a blessed day and weekend. May God comfort you and surround you with peace, even in the midst of chaos. I know that He’s able.
Love you!♥️

William Becton’s song, “Be Encouraged,” says:
I know right now it's impossible to see,
But God is gonna work it out if you just believe.
Remember this one thing while you're going through,
If God delivered Daniel, He'll do the same for you.
Be encouraged no matter what's going on,
He'll make it alright,
But you gotta stay strong.

Soooo…
I don’t usually speak on celebrities’ business unless something about it resonates with me or hits me a certain way. So today’s big news on social media is Jada Pinkett Smith revealing that she and Will have been separated since 2016. I haven’t heard the interview or the whole story—and I absolutely detest click bait—however, this time I’m biting and adding my two cents.
Y’all, life be lifing! Let’s be real, we have absolutely no idea where life is going to take us. We are blindsided every day by things we didn’t see coming. And most of the time it’s not due to other people’s actions but our own. Sometimes we wake up and decide to react or respond to things differently. It happens. I don’t know why. Can’t explain it. But it happens. The only possible explanation is we are human.
I don’t know about you but I am far from perfect. I try not to judge people because I know firsthand that life can take unexpected turns no matter how much you plan. It’s the story of my life. As I have said before, I had my entire life planned out as a child. Then, one blow to my plan literally took me out. And it didn’t stop there. I continuously made decisions that took me even further away from that plan. Looking back I hate how it happen but most of it was necessary. Anyway, it took me nearly 30 years to stop blaming myself for how things happened and for feeling like a failure.
Y’all, I’m saying all of this to say, life is going to do what it does. It’s up to us to figure out how we handle it. And hopefully we have people around us who will support and love us unconditionally when it does.
I read Will’s book and loved it. Can’t wait to read Jada’s. I have been rocking with them both for over 30 years and I’m not going to let their authenticity, vulnerability or life in general, stop me from supporting them. As I have said before, life be lifing. Don’t be so quick to judge or throw people away because you never know when you’ll need the same kind of support and understanding. It’s called grace.
Thank you for reading to my two cents. Wishing you a blessed day. Love you!♥️

Tap into your potential and become who you are destined to be. Your future is dependent on it.♥️ ~ Shaun

Where you begin rarely looks like what you envisioned. Give yourself space, time and grace to grow. Don’t give up. You’ll get there!♥️

On another note, “Savior More Than Life,” by Kirk Franklin and The Family is still on repeat in my head. It’s been like this for days now. I can listen to music all day but once I turn it off, this song pops back up. Is my spirit on auto-worship mode and this is its worship song? Right now I am hearing that I just need to lean into God a little more as if a protection mode has been activated. Whew, Lord. I’m listening.
Well, this is how my day has started. As I stated above, growth is a process and I am still growing. Some days I have no idea if I am still in seed form or if my leaves are finally growing. When will my flowers begin budding? Sighing. Only time and life will tell. Until then, I guess I will lean into God a little more—get all comfy—and allow Him to love on me. Y’all have a wonderful day.
Love you!♥️
