Today is Year51 and two months! Woohoo!!🎉 Laughing because unlike last year, I haven’t been keeping up with each milestone month beyond my 51st birthday. However, last year I made it a point to capture each one. Here’s what I shared a year ago while celebrating my Jubilee year.

As I stated last year, I owe it to myself to become everything I ever imagined and dream, and I aim to do just that. Although I don’t feel like I am aging—y’all, I actually feel like I’m still 20/21—I do realize I am on the other side of 50. Meaning the next 50+ years I spoke of is possibly a beautiful reach. Knowing this, I plan to seize opportunities (the right ones on this side of 50—discernment on 10—no more wasting unnecessary time on things that don’t align with my purpose or dreams) like they’re my last. No more allowing opportunities to pass by in hopes of them rolling around again. Nah.. on this side I am truly living and taking in every single wonderful opportunity and experience God has for me. You wanna know why? It’s because God loves me and I love me, too.
Yes… I love me.🥰

I’m Living!
Good Morning! Five years ago, I asked myself if I was living or just existing. It’s one of my favorite lines from my fav’s movie, “The Family That Preys.” Back then, I had to really think about it. Honestly, I couldn’t fully say that I was. Well, today, that answer is “Baby, yes! I am definitely living!” As I have said so many times before, I am absolutely loving this side of 50! Here’s what else I found among my memories, pictures from my first BBD concert. I recently wrote about the tickets I won the day before my birthday in 2014. However, what I didn’t include—which I included in the book I wrote that morning but nixed at the last minute—was that I actually saw them in concert five years before and I spoke to Michael Bivins. And guess what?! He spoke back!!! AHHHHHH!!!😂😂😂😂😂 Y’all, I absolutely love my life!
Your Dreams Are Not Too Big
Good Morning! I have two Facebook memories to share. Couldn’t decide which I wanted to share most so I decided to share both. They were both shared six years ago, and from the order of my memories, I shared this one first.

“Today’s social media find! If you dream it, you can have it. Oftentimes it’s not other people. It’s our own self-doubt that holds us back. Whenever doubt tries to step in, shut it DOWN! Let doubt know you’ve got this!”
Then, the next post I shared, which was probably much later that day, was about a dream that didn’t come to fruition. Here’s what I shared.
Kofi Annan’s death hit me like Colin Powell’s did, very hard. They were two icons I really wanted to meet. Like, there are people you want to meet and there are people you need to meet. I felt as if I needed to meet them both and somehow missed the opportunity. Maybe our souls met lifetimes before that’s why I felt the need so strongly. Anyhoo… Even though I didn’t get to meet them, I did meet Leah Chase, who was at the top of my list of people to meet. My heart still smiles when I think of our brief encounter. So, dreams do come true. Maybe not all but the ones that are meant to, do. Smile
