Wednesday Writings

Happy Wednesday!

I’m feeling so much better today. Although my ears and throat still hurt, I’m coughing and blowing my nose less, which is a blessing! Y’all, last night was the first night in over a week that I actually slept most of the night. Again.. a blessing!

Y’all, for some reason the flu wasn’t even on my radar. I’ve been so concerned with being vaccinated against COVID that I kept putting off the flu vaccine, which I have been getting annually for over a decade or so. Yeah.. I should’ve known better. Next time I’m getting vaccinated. Shoot, as soon as I get over this, I’m getting vaccinated.

Anyhoo.. I’m not going to waste a blog talking about my illness. Laughing.

Before I began writing, I read last year’s journal entry– something I usually do before writing my blogs. Well, last year I was just finishing Will Smith’s memoir, WILL. Y’all, just like Michelle Obama’s newest book, The Light We Carry, there were sooo many gems in his book. As I did with his, I have highlighted and taken notes on a few things I plan to work on. Things that will help me become a better version of myself. I already know some things will be challenging – because I know me (laughing) – but I’m determined to get them done. Progression is the name of the game, right? Smiling. Looking forward to meeting the woman I’m becoming.

Well, that’s all I have for today. I pray that you have an awesome Wednesday!

Be Blessed,

Shaun

Prioritize Self & Health

Prioritize yourself and your health. Listen, you will never be as effective or efficient as you would like to be if you are not well— physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially, etc.♥️ ~ Shaun

Hello Sunday

Happy Sunday!

Not feeling so well today. I caught a cold – only a cold – sometime last week. I believe the worse part is over. Well.. I hope the worst is over.

Honestly, the worst part hasn’t been the cold itself, but resting and taking it easy part. I keep finding things I “must” do. And then, I don’t do those well. Ugh. I’m praying that today, I actually get some rest. Probably going to unplug for a while after I post this.

Wishing you a wonderful day! Stay safe and healthy.

Time

When we were younger, we believed we had all the time in the world to do those little things we knew were significant but found insignificant at the moment. Things like living healthier and cultivating meaningful relationships. They were always at the back of our minds, or on our to-do lists, but somehow they never quite became a priority.

Unfortunately, we cannot turn back the hands of time. Those health issues that could have been prevented are now being managed. Relationships that could have worked, or been better, are either long gone or beyond repair. Sadly, time didn’t wait until we were ready. However, the good news is we are still here and have the opportunity to make wiser choices.

Listen, time isn’t stopping nor is it slowing down. So if there is something or someone you value, make it or them a priority. It’s so important that we take advantage of the time we already have, not the time we believe you have. Be sure to make every moment count.♥️ ~ Shaun

This is my first animated drawing! Y’all, I’m creating and it feels absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to see where this adventure takes me.☺️
