Had to share this message twice!

Whatever it is, release control and surrender it to God. He will not let you fail. You were not designed to fail. Believe me when I say He’s got you. Trust Him.♥️ ~Shaun

God’s Will Be Done
Happy Sunday, y’all! Was debating whether to write about what’s currently going on in my life (things are finally settling down—will share later) or share a Facebook memory. Well…I chose the memory. Smile. Its message could not be any clearer—God’s will be done.

Of course I heard Marvin L. Winans singing, “Draw Me Close To You/Thy Will Be Done.” Smile. He ends the song with, “I seen You work in others and I want You to work in me.”
This morning’s prayer is:
Lord, I am surrendering it all to you. I have seen Your work with others and know You will do the same with me. Lord, I completely trust You with my all. Thy will be done. Amen
Praying you have a wonderful week! Stay in prayer. Stay connected to God. Love you!♥️

Draw Me Close To You/Thy Will Be Done
One of my favorite online history magazines, CARTER Magazine, celebrated one of my favorite RnB duos from the 90s, Zhané. I remember finding their CD in our local AAFES music/movie store on base. At the time, I was stationed in Germany and most of the CDs I bought were based on the CD cover rather than a particular song. Being stationed overseas, we rarely heard new music unless someone had recently come from stateside. Well, I picked up Zhané’s debut CD and the rest was history.
Back in 2019, Zhané’s song, “For A Reason,” seemed to be my theme song for that year. For months, I woke up with it playing over and over in my head. It was the same year I celebrated one of my greatest joys (my divorce after 4 long years of waiting), and my greatest sorrows (my brother passing). When I say that was some year! Soooo many ups and downs that year. What a roller coaster ride! Anyhoo… that song was a gentle warning of what was to come, as well as a soothing reminder that God would be with me through it all. Blessed.♥️

Acknowledge where you are, but celebrate where you are going. Where you are is only temporary. Brighter days are ahead.♥️ ~Shaun

Side Note: Don’t let social media fool you. You are not the only one going through something. Everyone is struggling with something, whether it’s visible or not. Where you are is only temporary.
Noticed that it’s currently 11:11. Nothing significant. Just love it when I see triple or quadruple numbers. The first thought that came to mind when I saw 11:11 was, “trust God.”
Trusting God.
Good Night♥️

In the words of songstress Jill Scott:
I woke up in the morning feeling fresh to death
I’m so blessed, yes yes
I went to sleep stressed, woke up refreshed
I’m so blessed, yeah yes
Water in my face and everything is in it’s place
Peace of mind even my grace
I’m so blessed, yes yes yes

Embrace where you are at this current moment. No, it’s not where you are meant to stay. It’s where you need to be for a specific purpose as well as for growth. Find out what you can glean from this experience.♥️

That was a year ago. Here are a few lessons I have gleaned:
Spend as much quality time as possible with the people you love. They could be here today and gone tomorrow.
My superwoman days are winding down. I am not as strong as I used to be…or as strong as I once thought I was. I must—not an option anymore—take more care of myself than I do others.
Obedience, patience and trust. To be obedient even when things do not make sense. To be patient while God works. To trust God with all things. Again, it’s time for me to hang up my cape.
Honestly, I feel like I am exiting a place I have been in for a while. I have outgrown it and am now entering another phase of life. I do not know what it holds; however, as I mentioned before, I am trusting God with all things. Expecting greater.
I pray you have a wonderful day and beautifully, blessed weekend. Please take care of yourself. Love you!♥️

Okay…this message is mainly for myself. However, if it resonates with you, by all means, use it.
More and more I am feeling the urge to drop everything and only focus on myself—which is something I have been struggling to do for a while now. Every time I think, “This is it!”, I end up doing the exact opposite. Last night, my 21 year old niece reminded me that my kids are grown and I should be living it up. And she’s right, I should be. My kids have been saying the same since my son started college. Well, after the year I have had, I believe it’s time for me to start listening. They are doing well, and everyone else will be just fine. Now, it’s my time. It’s time for me to finally live!♥️ ~Shaun

Below is a quote by motivational speaker, Dr. Cheryl Wood. I shared it on this date five years ago (March 13, 2019). Back then, I was definitely hiding. Didn’t want to be noticed. Little did I realize I wasn’t just hiding myself from the world, but I was hiding my gifts. I was downplaying my purpose and calling. Well…no more!
I AM HERE!

Are you hiding your brilliance or downplaying your gifts? If so, today is the day to stop! Today is your day to come out of hiding and SHINE!
Love you!♥️
Shaun

“Beyond blessed,” is what I shared on this date last year, and it is exactly what I am feeling today. Feeling blessed, thankful, and grateful. Words can’t even begin to describe how thankful I am for the love, kindness, and support we received from thousands to help us get Marley back home. Y’all, please don’t let the negativity fool you, there is more good in the world than evil. Let’s embrace the good. Love you!♥️
