In difficult times, it seems easier to put God first. You know, that’s when we are deep in prayer so we are usually communicating with Him often. But, how about when times are good and everything is going well? Is He still first, or is He second, third, or even last to everything else?
A few years ago, I created a daily routine to ensure I put God first because I noticed when things were going well I did not spend as much time with Him as I did before. Now, don’t get me wrong I still said a quick prayer in the morning and acknowledged Him throughout my day; however, I stopped dedicating time to only Him. I would say I would get to it later, and sadly, later never came. Now, I intentionally set aside time. Y’all, so much is revealed during these times. It’s during these times that I actually feel closer to God. It’s when my faith is strengthened.
If you find yourself forgetting to prioritize God, maybe you should do as I did and create a plan where He is always first. Just a thought.
Think about it. I mean, really think about it. Are you doing what you love? Not only career wise but in life. Or…are you waiting for conditions to be right or better before you decide to do it?
It’s my hope that you are doing what you love and that you absolutely love what you are doing. Sometimes we find ourselves doing what we love but because we are not in the right environment our experiences are not favorable. Been there.
I hope you are doing both. If not, I pray you will be soon. Love you!♥️ ~Shaun
I believe the secret to a good life consists of actually living it; laughing often (gotta laugh); loving wholeheartedly; and being genuinely kind to others (not for show). Here’s what I shared two years ago.
Facebook Memory: January 23, 2024
Smile, if you’re already here. If this is how you’re living. If you are not here, get here quickly. This is where peace resides.
Live: Stay present!
Laugh: Your soul needs it.
Love: Unconditionally – it’s the secret of true peace and happiness.
Be Kind: EVERYONE’s struggling with something. No one’s exempt.
Focus on who & what truly matters and let the rest go. Life is short, spread LOVE!♥️ #ILoveYou
Again, spread love. Everyone needs love, even those we do not believe deserve it—they need it. Approaching them with hate only adds hate to your heart. Also, add hope. Whenever possible, add a little bit of hope to your conversations. Give people something to look forward to even if you cannot see it. Listen, hope goes a long way. It keeps life going.
That’s all I have for now. Wishing you a beautifully, blessed day.
That thing you keep pursuing but just cannotseem to achieve.
That thing that has been nagging you for years, even decades, that your soul can’t seem to let be.
You know, that thing you were so close to achieving then something happened that threw everything off track…
Yeah… that thing.
Well, today, we are celebrating our (gotta include myself) wins in advance.
From here on, see yourself walking in everything you set out to achieve. Feel yourself in it! Yes, you had a few setbacks, but now you are finally there and pursuing other dreams. Pat yourself on the back because you did not give up. Nope. You were resilient. You hung in there and kept going. Now, you are there. YOU DID IT!♥️
Because of God, I already have it all. It’s just a matter of time before everything is revealed. In God’s time.
Same for you. You already have it all. Just be patient, keep working towards your dreams and goals, and continue allowing God to lead. You will see it, hold it, and experience it all. Love you!♥️ ~Shaun
Two years ago, I shared a “Hello Sunday” blog about manifestation. It was based on film director, Matthew Cherry, winning his first Oscar. Eight years before he won it, or was even well known, he tweeted, “I’m gonna be nominated for an Oscar one day. Already claiming it.” And he was nominated and won!
Last night, I watched a once “YouTuber,” Quinta Brunson, win her first Emmy award for best comedic actress. I was so happy for her! She didn’t say it, but I am pretty sure the thought of “what if” crossed her mind at some point. Watching her evolve into the person she was always meant to become has been wonderful to witness. I remember watching her YouTube videos. Loved the “He got money!” videos. She kept me laughing. Watching her on Abbott Elementary has been a joy as well.
Side note: For those who know me, know I love watching God work! Y’all, it makes my heart smile. The journey and evolution is everything.
Anyhoo… Trying not to get sidetracked.
In the “Hello Sunday” below, I wrote about some of my own moments. Yesterday, or the day before, I wrote about not taking any leaps in a while. Well, as I wrote in 2022, I believe I am already living in what I manifested. Not completely living in it, but living in the journey of becoming and achieving everything I dreamed and imagined as a kid. Perhaps my manifestation is not a destination but living within my experiences.
I wrote about writing in my journal how I wished I could live far away. Then, within six months, I had joined the Air Force and was living in Germany. I also gave a few more examples; however, those weren’t all, there are plenty more! As I said, I believe my manifestations are played out in my journey. I love the details of the smaller manifestations. The things that cross my mind then just happen. The small things that make me smile. Don’t get me wrong, I have greater ambitions and so many more big dreams waiting to come to fruition; however, I am choosing to live in every experience now.
Here is what I have learned about manifestations:
1) You will never see it coming until you are in it. It’s all about God’s timing, not ours.
2) Nothing ever happens as we imagined or dreamed. It’s always better.
Remember, God is always working. Do not give up on your dreams, and enjoy the journey along the way. Be careful not to miss out on the small experiences. They are leading you to the bigger ones. Love you!♥️ ~ Shaun
Woke up with the song, “Don’t Cry,” by Kirk Franklin blaring in my head. Had to listen to it. Listen, Jesus is not dead. He’s very much alive. We are truly, truly blessed. Keep believing!♥️ ~Shaun
Honestly, there is no telling where I would be without God’s grace or His love and protection. As the song “God’s Grace” says, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” I can only imagine the weapons that He has blocked over my lifetime and continues to block. That’s grace.
Everything you need is right here All of your problems, yes I’m aware And when you’re down, I’ll be right there You can call on me ’cause I hear your prayer No other name can put joy where there is pain He will do it for you but first you gotta know that it’s by God
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper I’m so glad to know (So glad) It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper
Say you got laid off Can’t pay your bills Sick, can’t get well My Jesus heals He’ll brighten up your darkest day Put trust in Him And he’ll make a way Anyone the son sets free – is free indeed He will set you free But first you got to be a believer and know that it’s by God
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper Anything your heart desires, my God is gonna see to it
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper It’ll never prosper, so come on in
Come on in before the sun goes down Even though the devil’s got you bound Know you’re tired of going round and round Take the Word and knock him down He’ll forgive you of your sins Open up and let Him in Let the Lord show you His love By the mighty God we’re conquerers
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper If you believe in it in your heart, raise your hands and sing
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper Say your battle is already won, you just keep on telling yourself
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No-no-no-no-no weapon formed-
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper No weapons formed (No weapons formed) Against me now (Against me now) Shall prosper
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper When trouble seem to follow you everywhere you go
It’s by God’s grace All things through Christ Jesus No weapon formed against me shall prosper
What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?
E. H.
That was a quote I shared five years ago—January 14, 2019. Next is the caption that accompanied it:
Happy Monday! Wishing you a blessed week! Here’s today’s social media find. Take the leap. Yes, there’s a possibility that things won’t go as planned (been there); however, there’s also a possibility that they might AND exceed your expectations (been there, too). You’ll never know, if you never leap. You already know God is going to catch you– FLY!
During my adulthood, I have taken numerous leaps—mostly spontaneously. As I mentioned above, some things went as I hoped and/or exceeded my expectations, while others didn’t. Either way, I never fell or failed. Somehow I always managed to fly. All praises to God.
Lately, I have not taken any leaps (it’s been three years). I guess you could say I have been living a pretty quiet, unadventurous life—been playing it safe. Honestly, I am not sure if I am just tired or if the adventures have ceased. Hopefully, it’s not the latter. There just has to be more adventures and leaps in my future. Y’all, I’m too young to stop leaping now. Sighing
Why am I hearing Donald Lawrence singing, “The Best Is Yet To Come”? Shaking my head. My thoughts and their theme music. Even my subconscious mind has a sense of humor. My life… Laughing
Well, that’s all for now. I pray you have a wonderful day!
