Today is my bonus mom’s birthday! Didn’t quite know how I would feel when today came since my biological mom is no longer here. Plus, it’s also a reminder that my biological mom’s birthday is coming up (February 21) and I won’t be able to celebrate it with her. Yep… I am feeling pretty emotional this morning.

My Jewel—her name is actually Jewel—is one of a kind. She has been in my life since I was about three weeks old, so my entire life. She tells everyone I was her first baby, even though she was pregnant with my late brother at the time of my birth. I have always loved her just as much as I loved my mom. Sometimes I feel guilty because I still have a mother here with me and my siblings do not. I feel so guilty that I rarely mention her around them. Like today’s her birthday and out of respect for them, I am not going to post anything on Facebook. However, I will celebrate her here. When God blessed me with her, He blessed me with a gem. So, how can I not celebrate my blessing.

I have to take some updated pictures. Been using the same one for years. My sister and I have so many pictures with my dad, but not many with Momma. Gotta change that…TODAY! Yes, I will be seeing her in a few hours. I am working an hour away from her today so I am planning a surprise visit. Can’t wait to see her and love on her a little.

Me… To be happy! To enjoy this life God has blessed me with. To be a blessing to others. To spread love, hope, and joy in everything I do. I want others to know and feel they are loved. This is what I truly desire.

That’s all I have for now. By the way, this is my 995th consecutive day of posting! Woohoo!! Five more days until 1000!!! Can’t you tell I’m excited?! Listen, I keep myself hyped!! Laughing. Can’t wait to celebrate!!!

Hello Sunday

This morning I am torn between sharing the song that’s currently in my head or, not one, but several Facebook memories. The song has nothing to do with the memories. It’s just what I woke up hearing.

Hmm…. Let’s see what I decide.

Well, I went to my journal for inspiration, and my entry from last year basically summed up the Facebook memories I was thinking of sharing. So, I guess I will share a snippet of what I wrote.

Journal Entry: February 4, 2023

Today’s quote was, “Keep Showing Up.” I’m learning more and more that my dreams are not meant to be given up on. Even when I feel like things just aren’t going to happen or everything is pointless, God shows me otherwise. Those goals that I wrote down years ago, as well as the dreams I had as a little girl, they’re all going to come to fruition. What I imagined over 40 years ago, I will have. I just have to keep showing up and allowing God to lead.

I ended the entry with–

Lord, I’m trusting You to do it Your way. Amen

Honestly, I really don’t need to write more. I believe that said it all. The only thing I will add is, no matter what, do not give up on your dreams. Many of mine are over 40 years in the making and I still have not given up so you don’t either. Love you!♥️

Woke up with the song, “Safe in His Arms,” playing over and over in my head. I know I shared it in this week’s Hello Sunday, but I have to share it again. Listen, stay covered. Stay in God’s arms. No one can love you, protect you, or give you the peace you need like He can. I don’t know about you, but I am so grateful and blessed to have Him as the head of my life, leading and protecting me. Amen.

Seeing people smile and laugh, especially my two. Knowing God loves me unconditionally. Seeing and feeling the sunshine. Good food. Great company. Chatting with my sisters and friends—I love our bond. Being loved. Feeling loved.

I will also add…

Knowing that every day is a new beginning—an opportunity to become a better version of myself. Lastly, knowing that my future will be brighter than my past. The best is yet to come.

Know that you are safe in God’s hands.

There is a certain calmness and peace that comes with knowing we are in God’s hands. Not saying we will never experience the random anxiety, worry, or fear. However, when we do, it never lasts long.

Y’all, somehow, God has a way of dispatching His angels to comfort us at the exact right moments. When I tell you there is nothing comparable to His love, mercy, and grace. Listen, there is none like it!

So many will settle for God’s blessings. However, I do not want His blessings without His favor.

According to Cambridge Dictionary, favor is defined as the support or approval of something or someone.

Listen, I love God’s blessings, and He gives them graciously; however, His approval is what I am seeking. Can’t you hear the Clark Sisters singing, “Blessed and Highly Favored”? I definitely can. Wishing you a beautifully, blessed day!♥️ ~Shaun

My Aquarius Baby

Honestly, I did not know what I would share today. I guess I am in my feelings. Today is my daughter’s 29th birthday and she’s over 300 miles away. It’s not like we have never celebrated from a distance before. Last year she was in New York. The year before, Miami. This year is just different.

I thought about getting on the road and going to surprise her. However, it’s raining here and raining there. Had to think about safety. Plus, we actually celebrated before she left. So why is today different?

Anyhoo…

I am so proud of the woman she has become. She is everything I hoped and dreamed for and sooo much more. I admire her strength, I adore her passion, and I respect her honesty. I also love the way she loves me. I never imagined being loved and cared for so deeply. Y,all, it still blows my mind that I am a mother. I am so looking forward to getting to know the woman she is becoming. Smiling
