My Journey With God, No. 66

“Never give up on your dreams. You’re still breathing, so your dreams are still possible.”

When I shared the image and caption above on Instagram and YouTube, I included Yolanda Adams’ song “Never Give Up.” The song says (Lyrics: LyricFind)—

Visions that can change the world
Trapped inside an ordinary girl
She looks just like me
To afraid to dream out loud

And though it’s set for your idea
It won’t make sense to everybody
You need courage now
If you’re going to persevere

To fulfill your divine purpose
You’ve gotta answer when you’re called
So don’t be afraid to face the world
Against all odds

Keep the dream alive don’t let it die, if something deep inside
Keeps inspiring you to try, don’t stop
And never give up; don’t ever give up on you
Don’t give up

When I tell you this last year has been about full-circle moments! Last June, I began serving my second term as president-elect for my state’s dietetics association (the first time was in 2015). Back in November, I was reconnected with someone I wanted to work on a project with ten years ago. Today, we are working on a similar project that’s even better than the one I envisioned. Then, last night, I attended an event and connected with someone who could possibly help me with another project I wanted to work on ten years ago.

Y’all, I had given up on both projects—projects that were part of my dream—but God said not so!

Despite the craziness happening right now, God is still bringing dreams to life. I can’t help but be in awe of Him!

Forever grateful and blessed.♥️

My Journey With God, No. 62

Re-reading Christy Nockels’ “The Life I Long For: Learning to Live from a Heart of Rest” has been more about revisiting my reflection notes at the end of each chapter than actually reading the book. Here’s one about me trying to maintain a balance between pursuing my dreams and staying present (February 2022)—

Balance. Is there such a thing as balance? Either you’re working towards something or you’re enjoying the moment. Seems as if doing both is impossible.

That was written three years ago, written before I finished the book. By the time I finished it, I had found that balance. I discovered I could do both—actively pursue my dreams and stay present. The catch was, and still is, God has to be the center of it all. I cannot live the life I desire without Him being so. When I place myself in the center and try to do things from my own efforts, that’s when I feel off balance. And that’s also when God gently reminds me that He’s in control. Yes, HE is in control. Smiling

Y’all, God is so good. I just can’t express it enough how grateful I am that He loves me. I am so blessed.

Anyhoo… Let me go to sleep.♥️ ~Shaun

You Lack Nothing

You lack nothing. You already have everything you need to accomplish whatever you need to at this moment. No need to keep waiting. Use what you have.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Do It Now

If there is something you desire to do, do it! Do it NOW! Waiting for the perfect time to get started only delays progress and time—time that you could actually be doing what you love.

I’ve been feeling this a lot lately. As we know, tomorrow’s not promised. All we have is today. I don’t know about you, but I would hate to leave this world without at least attempting to do the things I love. I just can’t do it, and won’t.

I pray your day is going well. Smile♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Both Memories Are True

Good Morning☀️

I couldn’t decide on which Facebook memories to share so I decided to share both. They’re both true—

If something constantly disturbs your peace, joy, and happiness, you must—not maybe—let it go. Stress kills. Let it go! On the other hand, whatever brings you peace, joy, and happiness, keep those things close. They are your lifesavers.

Note the hashtag “Peace Over Pain.”

There is no truer statement than—“Your mind must arrive at the destination before your life does.” I had to see myself living the life I’m living now before I got here. Meaning, when I took the leap to bet on myself, I could actually feel and see myself living out my dreams. Before then, it was no more than a vision. Now, I am doing it! I’m nowhere near where I want to be, but I’m definitely living in my dreams.

Side note: I love how I wrote that in 2019, two years before I actually took the leap. I guess you could say that was the transition period of my vision becoming a reality.

This is all I have for you at the moment. I pray your week has started well. Wishing you a lovely day.♥️
