God, We Need You

My heart is heavy as I weep for humanity. God, we need You.🙏🏽

Psalm 61:1-2

1. Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.

2. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Now isn’t the time to turn away from God, but to draw closer to Him. Please don’t lose faith or let your heart grow cold over the chaos and destruction that’s happening across the world. The more the enemy tries to pull us apart or make us doubt God, the more we must dig in and band together. Goodness and love will win. Amen

Keep the prayers going.♥️

Love you always,

Shaun

Forever In Awe Of God

This Facebook memory has me smiling and gives me hope. It’s so timely!

Here’s what I shared on this date last year. Talk about mind-blowing! I just love watching God work!

Persevere, April 2, 2024

Thanks to Senator Cory Booker’s post this morning, PERSEVERE is the word of the day!

No matter how many setbacks you have, keep trying. No matter how many times you have to restart, keep starting. Keep dreaming. Keep creating. Keep building. PERSEVERE! In time, everything you once dreamed will be your reality.

PERSEVERE!♥️

Persevere is exactly what Senator Cory Booker did. He held the Senate floor for over 25 hours from Monday to yesterday evening. It was so beautiful!

During this time, he spoke about the injustices happening across the country and our dissatisfaction with our government (both sides). He read stories from constituents (not only his) who are afraid and worried about their future. He also shared personal stories. But what touched me most was him putting his heart on display for the world to see. There’s no denying that he truly cares. I admire and appreciate his leadership and love for our country and humanity.

Y’all, he PERSEVERED! The late Honorable John Lewis would be so proud of Senator Booker’s “Good Trouble.”

This is why I’m forever in awe of God. I love how He loves me and allows me to witness His greatness. Y’all, He’s so AMAZING!!!

That’s all I have for now. I pray you are having a beautiful day thus far.♥️

I love you much,

Shaun

The Grace To Be Human

Here’s what I shared on March 26, 2022.

No one is perfect, and none of us have lived flawless lives. I’m 100 percent certain that I am not the only one who’s said or done something I now look back on and ask myself, “What was I thinking?” It’s called being human.

I’m so grateful God isn’t human and doesn’t shame us for being so. Instead, He covers us with His grace. I can hear BeBe and CeCe Winans singing “Grace. Y’all, where would we be without God’s grace?

That’s all I have for now. Wishing you a great rest of your day!♥️

Love you always,

Change Agents

Are you a change agent for the greater good of humanity?

Two years ago, I shared my thoughts on Stacey Abrams’ concession speech in one of my “Wednesday Writings”. Here’s what I wrote—

“The highlight of the night was not a win, but a beautifully delivered concession speech by Stacey Abrams, Georgia’s gubernatorial candidate. Y’all, Stacey is not finished. … this is ONLY the beginning. Stacey is a change agent.”

In the words of the late, General Colin Powell, “Real change has to outlive the change agent.” Although Stacey isn’t in the limelight as much as she was during the 2022 elections, she’s very much present and still working towards a better, brighter future for everyone.

Questions:

What changes are you striving for—not only for yourself or those like you—but for the greater good of everyone?

Will those changes outlive you?

That’s all.♥️

Love you!

Please Be Kind

Please be kind. You never know what people are going through. Outwardly they may appear to have it all and have it all together; however, inwardly they’re struggling. They look good on social media, but mentally they are breaking. So, let’s be kind and see people for who they are—human. Love you!♥️ ~Shaun

Here’s a video I shared last year, June 19, 2023. The entire video can be found on TikTok: Be Kind.

The person I was referring to in the video has faced some major setbacks. Major. Keeping her in my prayers.🙏🏽

Redemption

Here is what I shared on this date two years ago.

Shaun’s Daily Inspiration: March 26, 2022

All of us have made mistakes throughout our lifetime. Some big. Some small. Some barely noticeable. It’s called being human. Let’s give ourselves, as well as others, the grace to be human and recover from those mistakes.♥️

Redemption is the word that comes to mind today. Redemption…

Y’all, I cannot stress it enough, stay covered. Stay under God’s protection, and stay prayed up.🙏🏽♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Remain Hopeful

Y’all, there is so much going on in the world. So much hate, chaos and negativity. Lately, I have been wondering if I really want to still be here in 50 years. What would that look like? Would I be a survivor of some disaster? It’s a lot to think about.

However, with that being said, I cannot allow what’s happening in the world make me lose hope or faith in God. I know He is still in control and His love is everlasting. Better days are ahead. Better months, years, decades and centuries are ahead. I cannot give up hope. WE must not give up hope.🙏🏽♥️ ~Shaun

We must keep hope alive. We must make sure it’s seen and felt in every thing we do and through every contact we make. We cannot afford to let hope die.

Integrity

It’s not what you do when people are looking, it’s what you do when they aren’t.

I found several definitions for the word “integrity.” Here are a few from Merriam-Webster–

1. A firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values: incorruptibility

2. An unimpaired condition: soundness

3. The quality or state of being complete or undivided: completeness

I have heard that people begin thinking about their legacy around the age of 50. I did not believe it was true until now. Lately, I have been thinking about my legacy and one of the things that came to mind was integrity. I would like to be remembered for my integrity; also for my kindness, my love for humanity, and my love for God and life.

What would you like to be remembered for?

Y’all…

THREE MORE DAYS!!!!

Year 50 is loading……

Life

Hello Sunday

Today’s blog is dedicated to James Earl Carter, Jr., also known as our former President, Jimmy Carter.♥️

Yesterday, my heart sank as I read the following statement from The Carter Center –

“After a series of short hospital stays, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter today decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention. He has the full support of his family and his medical team. The Carter family asks for privacy during this time and is grateful for the concern shown by his many admirers.”

Why did I immediately want to ask if I could also be by his side. If I could also care for him until he leaves us. Sounds weird, huh?

Y’all, he was my President. My first political memories were during his run for reelection against Ronald Reagan. I was just a little girl when he lost the race and vividly remember myself sitting in front of the tv crying my eyes out. He was my President.

I guess what I loved about him was everything many hated. He was soft spoken. He actually had compassion for humanity and expressed it, which was viewed by some as a sign of weakness. And lastly, he was from the South. I loved his southern drawl.

For me, President Carter represented kindness, hope and the possibility of a beautiful, peaceful and kind world. He was my hero! If you have not read any of my blogs about my favorite childhood song, well, it was, “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony).” I am pretty sure it was Coca Cola’s adaptation of the song that I fell in love with, but either way, it became my theme song. I was dead set on making this world a better place.

Side note: Had to add this while I’m thinking about it. I also wanted “Chariots of Fire,” to be played at my wedding. Y’all, what was wrong with me?! Laughing. I was so into my own little world. Guess nothing’s really changed, huh? Smiling

Anyhoo… back to President Carter. I have watched him over the years remain humble and give to those less fortunate. I really wish that I could sit with him just to show my appreciation for everything he’s done and given.

What’s so ironic is, Friday I signed up to volunteer for a local hospice care center. I may not be able to be by his side before he leaves us, but I can be by someone else’s. A piece of his legacy will always live on through me through my service to others.

President Carter is a true servant leader and his presence and impact on the world will be greatly missed.

Sending him and his family prayers and love.♥️
