My Journey With God, No. 55

Twenty-six (almost 27) years ago, I wrote the following in my journal—

“When I blew out my candles, I made a simple wish and that was to be happy for the next 25 years, and even happier afterwards.”

Well…

Five years ago, I asked myself if I was fulfilling that wish. The answer to that question back then (in 2020), and still is to this day, is “Yes.” Overall, my life is much happier than when I was 25. In 1998, I had so much going on. I was a single mom living abroad with a little one while trying to figure out life for us both. Then, a few months later, my mom had an incident (never found out what happened) that caused her to be paralyzed (paraplegia) for the rest of her life.

Don’t get me wrong. Today, every day isn’t all smiles and laughter; however, I’m never depressed. I was really depressed back then. After making my wish on my 25th birthday, I tried my best to make myself happy. I had been to therapy before, so I knew how to cope. However, it wasn’t until God stepped in and I began allowing Him to lead that I became truly happy. Y’all, God is so good. True happiness cannot be created. It happens organically and comes from within. When I celebrate life by saying, “I made it!” this is what I mean.

I’m forever grateful for God’s love, mercy, and grace. Y’all, I‘m blessed.♥️ ~ Shaun

It’s Your Story

Good Morning☀️

You may not be able to control how people feel about you or everything they say. However, you can control what you do and how you would like to be remembered by others. Always remember that your life is your story. As I said in my post three years ago, it’s okay to edit and rewrite a few things as you go along. We all change over time, so don’t be afraid for your life to reflect those changes.

Again, it’s YOUR story. You’re in control. Write it your way.♥️

Love you always,

Shaun

Just dropping in to say “Good Night.” I hope you had a great day. No complaints about mine.

I do have one request. So many are hurting, fearful, and in need right now. Please keep them in your prayers. Thank you.🙏🏽

When We Praise

The song of the hour is Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ’s “When You Praise.” The song says (Lyrics: LyricFind)—

When you praise, when you praise,
There should be a fire in your heart.
Hands up raised, when you praise,
Consuming every part because you know
The GOD we serve will make
His presence known, when you praise,
When you praise.

when we think of how wonderful
And merciful and kind
Our GOD has been to us.
Then we know every glory hallelujah
He deserves, when we praise

praise will bind, confuse
And break the enemy.
And cause his hands to be still.
So we raise our hands in total victory
We know we triumph in his will.

When we praise, when we praise,
There should be a fire in your heart.
Hands up raised when you praise,
Consuming every part because you know
(chorus)the GOD we serve will make his presence known.
Oh, when we praise, when we praise, when we praise.

Keep the praises and prayers going. Mountains are moving.🙏🏽♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Happy 30th, Ki!

The day is finally here! KiSondrea is 30! My heart is full. There’s so much I could say. So much I want to say. So much I’ve already said to her (which is what matters most) and in past posts. She’s my heart. I love her to other galaxies and beyond. I am so grateful God chose me to be her mom.♥️

My Journey With God, No. 54

Hearing God’s voice…

I originally wrote something different for my first post today than what I shared. After I had written what I wrote, I heard that still small, almost faint voice say, “Delete it.” And I obeyed. When I clicked on YouTube to watch something inspirational, this video was there—a message from the late Dr. Charles Stanely. The title says it all, “Listening To God.” Here’s the video and link:

Listening To God” by Dr. Charles Stanley

I’m so grateful God loves me. I’m so grateful for the relationship I have with Him. I am truly blessed.🥰

Leave Your Worries With God

Good Morning☀️

Eight years ago, I was listening to The Winans and Anita Baker’s “Ain’t No Need To Worry.” The song says (Lyrics: LyricFind)—

Ain’t no need in worrying
what the night is gonna bring,
it’ll be all over in the morning.

There’s a fear of night fall,
when darkeness comes and covers all the day.
Sometimes we feel pain,
but there are things that we can change, just pray.

Ain’t no need to worry,
what the night is gonna bring,
it’ll be all over in the morning.

Troubles come, but they do past,
heartaches, hurts, oh but, they don’t last always.
Sometimes we feel pain,
but there are things that we can change, just pray.

Ain’t no need to worry,
what the night is gonna bring,
it’ll be all over in the morning.

In the morning, the morning,
it’ll be all over in the morning.

It’ll be all over in the morning.

Makes no different how dark the night,
if you trust in God, it’ll be alright;
(it’ll be all over in the morning).

It makes no difference how long the day,
trust in God, He’ll make a way;
(it’ll be all over in the morning).

Weeping will last, but only for awhile,
but when the sun shines, you’ll wear a smile;
(it’ll be all over in the morning).

And I say, thank you Jesus,
in the presence of all those who hear my voice;
(it’ll be all over in the morning).

In the morning, the morning,
it’ll be all over in the morning.

It’ll be all over in the morning.

Ain’t No Need To Worry” by The Winans & Anita Baker

I needed this reminder that trouble doesn’t always last and that God is with us even when we’re experiencing pain. He’s a good God.

I pray you have a lovely day.♥️

Love you always,

Shaun

Quietness Is Necessary

Resting in God’s peace.

I believe we could all use a bit of quietness right now. There’s a lot of noise going on. I’m going to unplug for a minute…just a minute. I thought about scheduling my posts for a few days, but that ain’t gonna happen. I can barely schedule them hours in advance because sometimes I change my mind about what I want to share. So…yeah…only a minute. If it’s in the Lord’s will, I’ll talk to y’all tomorrow.

Love you!♥️

Shaun

P.S. Keep the prayers going.🙏🏽♥️
