God’s plan, Life

My Journey With God, 144

Question:

Why does God put so many desires and dreams in our hearts only for us to have to choose which ones to fulfill in our lifetime?

Long, long, long sigh…

If you’ve been following me for at least three years or more, you may have noticed that I don’t mind pivoting to follow wherever my passions take me. I truly don’t.

As I look back over my life, I have always followed some passion of mine. From the military to culinary to dietetics to research to advocacy—haven’t even mentioned my creative side—I’m forever following a passion. It’s like I can’t stop. Ugh…

This morning, I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to connect all of my passions. And y’all, I have MANY! Every single passion I’ve ever had still lies within me. I mean every single one.

I must find a way to connect them all.

Yesterday, my daughter’s fiancé took me to tour his new workplace. The last company he worked for had a phenomenal space—it was so nice. I loved the warm and inviting atmosphere. However, this new company has the kind of environment I always longed to work in. From the outdoor spaces to the break areas to the artwork and creative spaces, I was on cloud nine. It wasn’t just the space, but the technology aspects of it all. Y’all, I’m a low-key techie and their setup made my day.

Side note: Since eighth grade, I’ve been in love with coding and technology. Even before then, I was designing flying cars and preparing to live in outer space. I was so ready for this era. At least I thought I was.😅

During the tour, I took a moment to sit in that space, to be in that atmosphere, to take it all in.

There has to be a way for me to do everything I desire to do. I just know there is! God wouldn’t have put all of this in me just for it to remain inside of me. Laughing because He knows I love a challenge, and I believe this one is going to be my biggest yet. I have to create something that will incorporate all of my passions, desires, and dreams.

Here are a few pictures from my tour. I just loved the art. And they had Scrabble games, books, puzzles, and creative spaces everywhere. Y’all, I was on cloud nine, for real.

Anyhoo… here’s today’s inspiration— In God’s Strength— “God’s strength will take you much further than your own.”

Today, I’m tapping into God’s strength for real because ain’t no way I’m leaving this world without doing every single thing I desire to do!!

This journey of mine is an adventure indeed, and I’m loving every moment of it.

Feeling grateful and blessed.♥️

Signed with much love,

Shaun

No More Overthinking

Overthinking delays progress. What are you overthinking? What are you delaying?

Overthinking by Shaun’s Daily Inspiration

This year, I’m dead set on making overthinking a thing of the past. It’s either a go or no go for me. Time is too precious and much too short to continue wasting thinking of a million scenarios of how things could go wrong when I could be making moves towards things going right.

It’s Self-Love Saturday, y’all! What do you have planned? Me… I’m about to be a little extra… just a little.🤭

My daughter surprised me with a birthday sash!! Now why did she do that when she knows she’s easily embarrassed by my shenanigans?😅😂 But I’m going to be good.

Wishing you a wonderful Saturday! Remember to do something extra special for yourself.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

There’s Greatness In You

What a day this has already been!

Woke up to my first scheduled posts on Shaun’s Daily Inspiration displaying incorrectly on the reader’s feed. After Googling how to remove the statement that was attached to the post (was supposed to be the post’s text) and going through the process of removing it, this was what I ended up with…

It took me over an hour to get everything straight (ran into another issue while using the code editor). Very long sigh…

This is a screenshot of the feed after the post was republished…

Now, here’s what’s currently displayed…

Whew!!! Smiling as I write, y’all, THIS is my life. Gotta love it!

Here’s today’s post.

Greatness

There’s greatness inside of you. You may not see it yet, but so many others do. In the right light, you’ll see it too. Signed and sealed with love,…

Greatness

I added a reflection section, “Let’s Pause & Reflect,” at the end of the post. After the morning I’ve had, I guess I’ll be the first to finish the following statement:

“I didn’t always see it, but one great thing about me is …”

Y’all, one great thing about me is that my level of patience is extremely high.

I have been told many times that I have a lot of patience, especially by my older people, but I see it as me providing them with assistance or doing my job.

Today I saw that patience… or maybe it’s persistence. Having an “Aha” moment.

Thinking about several matters I worked on over the past few weeks, even yesterday—my birthday, and even moments ago (just got off a call)—I refuse to stop until an issue is resolved. So maybe it’s a little bit of both, patience and persistence.

Anyhoo… This problem is somewhat resolved. I still need to play around with a few more things to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

By the way, today’s Quote of the Day has posted, so I guess I’ll include it too. Honestly, it’s very fitting for this moment—

“This is your moment. Seize the opportunity to be great.” –Eric Thomas

And I did!😊

Sooo… how’s your day going so far?😅

I hope it’s going great and has been less eventful. Talk to you later!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

My Journey With God, No. 143

What’s your top tip to be successful in life? Today, I still journal several times a day. What I’ve learned over the years is that for me to be …

Reflect and Make The Necessary Changes

Above is the post I made not to long ago. It’s my answer to one of the Daily Prompts. I’ve been awake for a couple of hours. Nothing’s wrong, just preparing for the day/week. I’ve finally learned to work with my internal clock not against it. I’m my most productive during the wee hours of the morning, so why keep fighting it? Smile

I’ve been thinking a lot about a theme for my 53rd birthday year (Year53). I always set one right before or on my birthday. However, I believe I’m not going to set one this year. I’m just going to let Year53 be what it will be.

Anyhoo…

I’m about to rollover and go back to sleep before my real day gets started. But before I do, I just want to thank God for life—for my life. I am truly blessed. Amen

Wishing you a wonderful day and a blessed week.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Wake Up Everybody

Singing Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes’ song, “Wake Up Everybody.” The song says—

Wake up, everybody
No more sleepin’ in bed
No more backward thinkin’
Time for thinkin’ ahead
The world has changed so very much
From what it used to be
There is so much hatred
War and poverty

The world won’t get no better
If we just let it be,
The world won’t get no better
We gotta change it, yeah
Just you and me

Lyrics by Genius

Wake Up Everybody

“Wake Up Everybody” was written over 50 years ago and the message is still relevant today. We need more people to wake up! Today is Juneteenth (click the “Juneteenth” link to learn more) and so many people still don’t know they’re free.

Empowered people must continue to inform and empower others. Together, we can change the world.

Happy Juneteenth!♥️

Time Is Just Time

“Time is just time. It’s what we do within the time we are given that matters most.” –Moi😊

On April 20, 2026, I shared the following in my post, “My Journey With God, No. 141”—

“I didn’t want to stop posting at Day 1800—I loved the challenge of seeing how far I could go—but I needed to set an endpoint.”

Now, here I am on the other side of the “endpoint,” as I called it—which, by the way, never happened at Day 1800. I’m laughing because to stop posting wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I woke up every morning after my deadline and kept posting like clockwork. However, on Day 1811 (April 30) I finally ended the streak. Yep… some time around 11:00 PM on April 30th, I made it official. I stopped blogging, disconnected from every social media outlet, including YouTube, and took a much needed break.

For weeks it was just me, those in my close circle and actual presence, and God. Taking the month off was one of the best decisions I’d ever made. It was the most peaceful time I had had in years. It was long overdue.

On June 1st, I returned to blogging and my daily count restarted at Day 1.

So, how did I feel about starting over?

Honestly, I picked back up as if I had never taken a break. The daily count was just a number—that’s all. Ending my streak of posting daily for almost five years didn’t feel like the loss I thought it would. It was just time…

And time continued while I wasn’t blogging. It was the experiences that took place during my break that truly mattered. Nothing was lost from not posting daily. Actually, much more was gained. I became more focused. Conversations were more engaging. Quality time was actually quality time. My time with God increased tremendously. I was able to block out the outside noises and hear from Him, and only Him. And in addition to all of that, I got to love on me more. Yessss! I needed it!

As I said, time is just time. It’s what we do within the time we’re given that truly matters most.

This is all for now. Will talk to you again soon. Have a wonderful day!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

The countdown has officially begun. Less than a week away! Year53 is loading…🥰

Love… Do You Let It In? Just Asking…

Thought I’d share something a little different than my usual Shaun’s Daily Inspiration posts. Smile

I’m not sure how long WordPress has been providing their “On This Day” feature, but it’s nice, especially since I’m not currently on Facebook to review my daily memories. The “On This Day” feature shares past posts written on a particular day, and on this day two years ago, I shared a post about love which was a reshare of a post I made on June 16, 2022, “Allow Love In.”

Life is short. Love and be loved.♥️

Saw this Facebook memory and immediately heard Earth, Wind & Fire’s, “Can’t Hide Love.” You can’t hide it so you may as well let it in. Just saying.…

Love

Soooo…

What do you do?

Do you let love in or not?

Thought it’d be fun to ask, so I’m just asking. Smile

At age 52 (soon to be 53🎉), I honestly don’t know the answer to that question. I have technically spent over a decade single—separated from my ex in 2015 and divorced in 2019. Y’all, it just dawned on me that tomorrow I will be 7 years divorced!! Wow!!! Time passes so fast!

Anyhoo… I always say I’m getting married again, but I haven’t even started dating. Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. A few friends have suggested dating apps (tried it before and I logged in and out within 8 hours—couldn’t get into random men looking at my profile😅). I’ve also been advised to get out the house, make eye contact, answer those men in your DMs, stop streaming and go to a physical church, go sit at Starbucks, and the list goes on and on. Lol. My dad believes I’m too mean (I just don’t have time for foolishness), and my uncles know I don’t put up with craziness. One of my uncles recently said, “You cut them off quick.” Now I’m sitting here asking myself— “Do I not give men a chance?” “Am I mean?”😂😂😂 I guess I need to learn how to be a soft girl.🤣🤣🤣

My life…

I know if I don’t want to be 80 or 90 years old and finally finding love, I need to figure something out. My younger advisers say I need to consider dating younger (but not too young). I’ve also been told cowboys are the way to go.🤠 We shall see what happens. Until then, I’ll continue focusing on my inspirations and finding more ways to provide hope, love, and support to those who need it. Maybe that’s where my love and focus are needed at this moment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Listen, if you’re ready, by all means let love in. Life just isn’t the same without doing so.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Your Gift To Yourself

Love, Grace, and Kindness

If you haven’t visited my Shaun’s Daily Inspiration page, check it out! New graphics!💖

“Gift yourself love, grace, and kindness. You already give it to others. It’s time you give it to yourself. You deserve it.” –Shaun’s Daily Inspiration

This week I encourage you to gift yourself more love, grace, and kindness. You’re human just like the rest of us. You need and deserve all three just as much as everyone else.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. May it be filled with love, peace, and joy.♥️

I love you,
