Morning Praise and Worship

Kirk Franklin’s “Lookin’ Out For Me” has been playing over and over in my head since I woke up. The song says—

Every time I look back
And everytime I think back
On all the stuff I been through
I prayed through
I cried through
And then I tried you
And just when I was about to fall
Your love caught me when your name I called
Jesus you keep on looking out for me

Y’all, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit—the Trinity—are forever looking out for me. It’s truly a blessing to be loved and completely covered. It’s something I don’t take lightly or for granted.

Now, I’m hearing John P. Kee’s “I Do Worship.”

As you can see, my spirit is having its own praise and worship service this morning, and I’m here for it! Smile

I pray you have a wonderfully blessed day.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Happy Saturday, Y’all!

First off, I want to start by giving God the honor He’s due. I want to thank Him for truly being my ALL. Y’all, He really is good.

Secondly, I want to say “Hello” to you! I haven’t spoken in a while, or even shared much. I went from sharing four times a day to only sharing once. Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out how I did it without scheduling posts. Almost 100% of the time, I was writing in real time! Anyhoo… I truly hope life is good for you and you’re doing well.

So, if you haven’t noticed, WordPress now has an “On this Day” notification that lets bloggers know what they’ve shared over the years on a specific day. Kind of like Facebook memories. Smile. Well, over the past several years, I’ve shared the same message on this day but in different ways. The message is/was “Just Ask.” After revisiting past posts, I thought I continue with the theme—Just Ask!

Here’s a look at what I shared on July 18, 2024—

Four years ago, I wrote Just Ask. In the post I described a time where I wanted something and God responded instantly. Which, at the time, was a common occurrence. I would nonchalantly think of or mention something I wanted and God would deliver. Just like that! Well, lately I have not asked for anything. At least, not anything specific, and I’m not sure why. However, what I do know is I need to get my “ask” back. Yes, I need to start asking again.

I ended the post with, “I need to get my “ask” back.” That was two years ago.

Before I began writing this post, I took a moment to reflect on the last two years and my “asks.” Did I ask God for the things I desired? And did He deliver them?

The answer is “Yes!” I asked, and He most certainly answered and delivered, and still is! Y’all, God’s done so much more than I realized. Here’s one example (there are so many!):

After I took my last big leap and resigned from my job (five years ago), I couldn’t afford to attend any of our national dietetics conferences. Shoot, I could barely afford to attend the state ones. Y’all, I was so disappointed because I really loved going to those conferences. That’s where I made new connections, and where I recharged for the year. Then, nothing. I was working from home. Very little interactions with colleagues, and I had stopped volunteering. Basically, I was isolated, and I felt it.

Then 2024 happened!

A few months after I wrote the post mentioned above, I attended our national conference in Minnesota. Last year, I attended the one in Nashville. I’m smiling as I write, because it was nothing but God! This is how He worked it out for me.

In April of 2024 (before I wrote the post in July), a colleague asked if I’d consider running for President–elect of our state’s dietetics association, and one of the perks was an all expense paid trip to our national conference.

Now, I’m going to pause right here.

You see how God set that up?!

He knew what I wanted, but I had to do something in return to get it. As Joel Osteen’s father John would say, “How badly do you want it?”

First, I had to come out of isolation. I guess I should mention that I was also going through a few life changing experiences at the time—my mom had passed the year before, and to top it off, I was a new 50 year old. For years, I had asked God for my life over 50 to be different, but I wasn’t expecting the way He delivered the transition. Honestly, it had me feeling a bit confused and lost. Whew! What a time that Jubilee year was!!

Anyhoo… Second, I had to serve again, which was something I had been doing forever, but stopped when life started happening. So, I had to do both—come out of isolation and serve my community—in order to get what I desired.

Y’all, when I tell you God knows me so well! He knew exactly what would get me back going. And He knew I could do it. This is why I will never stop serving or praising Him!

Today, I’m reconnected, refocused, and rebuilding. Y’all, I can’t say it enough, I just love the way God loves me!

This is it for now. Thanks for reading! I’m getting ready to head to a board meeting—this time as past president. I can’t wait to see everyone!

Remember, it’s Self-Love Saturday! Be sure to do something extra special for yourself. And listen… Ask! I promise God will deliver exactly what you want.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

I Speak Life

Been singing Donald Lawrence’s song “I Speak Life” for the past 30 minutes or so, so I decided to share the song.

The song says—

I speak life. You’re gonna live, oh, my brother, my sister. I speak life. You are the head and not the tail you will prevail. I speak life. Don’t give up the fight for your life. You shall live and not die.

I Speak Life by Donald Lawrence

At this very moment, I’m speaking life over your life. Don’t give up the fight for your life. You shall live and not die.♥️

Hello Sunday (282)

Happy Sunday!☀️

Today, I am so grateful and blessed to be alive. Blessed to hear the birds singing. To see the beautiful sunshine. To breathe in fresh air. To have food to eat, water to drink, shelter, transportation, and the ability to move about freely.

Yes, I am blessed.

Ten Days until Year53…

This year’s excitement about my upcoming birthday is quite different. Usually, I’m bubbling with excitement, counting down the days, and imagining what I’ll do. However, the excitement I currently have is more contained. It’s a peaceful excitement. If that makes sense. It’s an excitement of knowing that I’m stepping into another year of wisdom—another year of maturity and growth.

Before I took my break (which I’m now referring to as a short sabbatical), I finally accepted the role as the matriarch of my family. A role that was already mine, but one that I wasn’t ready to accept. Well, I have accepted it, which means I must move differently. I have to be more mindful of what I do and don’t do (because that also matters). I’ll never be all stuffy because I love life too much. However, the way I move through life will change a bit. It’s already changed…for the better. Smile

I know I say it all the time, but I never knew this side of 50 could be so different. I’m thankful for the change. Thankful for God’s love, patience, and grace because they have gotten me to this place. I’m so looking forward to the blessings this side of 50 will continue to bring.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration, check out today’s post “Let Your Spirit Be Your Guide.”

I pray that you have a lovely Sunday! Talk to you later.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

God’s plan, Life

Quietly Seated with God

For a little over a month now, I have been quietly seated In God’s Presence. If you’ve ever stepped away from your daily routines to sit with God, then you know “sitting” with God is not a passive act. It’s very active.

First, God shows you your life. He shows you your past, where you are now, and all of your beautiful blessings. Next, He shows you your future—where He plans to take you. Then, He lovingly tells you that you’ll never fully hold all that He has planned if you don’t surrender your plans for His. Afterwards, He gently begins to guide and mentor you through the steps of becoming the person He knows you can be. The one He’s shown you.

So, you sit quietly in God’s presence. You take in His wisdom, love, and grace. You block the outside noises. And you move as He moves.

You become aligned with God.

Being seated in God’s presence is a life changing experience. If you want to fully experience God’s love and peace, I encourage you to become quiet and sit with Him. I have to warn you though, you may not like or agree with everything He reveals at first. However, I challenge you to remain seated and quiet. That’s when the true experience happens. It’s when God reveals His love for you as His child and how He sees you. You’re Royalty!

Become quiet and sit with God. I promise you, you will not regret the experience.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

It’s said that the first day of the year sets the tone for the rest of the year. So, on today—DAY ONE—I want you to know that you are loved. Not only do I want you to know it, but to feel it. Feel it because it’s true.

YOU are loved.

Hello Sunday

Happy Sunday!☀️

I pray all is well with you.🌷

No matter what comes or goes, stay with God. He will never give up on you, so don’t give up on Him.

Deuteronomy 31:8
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Stay with God. He’s got you!♥️

I love you always,

Shaun
