One Quote, Two Captions

One quote, two captions. Both messages were too good not to share. As we know, movement is necessary for advancement and growth. All we have to do is take the first step. God will do the rest.

Facebook Memory: January 29, 2019

Good Morning! Here’s today’s social media find. Just move. Even if you have to crawl, MOVE. Sometimes I find myself spending more time on contemplating my next move than actually moving. I’m not going to lie, it’s my fear of failure and things not being perfect. However, when I do move (doing something as simple as picking up a pen and paper), wonderful things begin to happen. Just MOVE and watch God work! He’s so AMAZING!

Facebook Memory: January 29, 2022

I’m learning this more and more. Take the first step and God will do the rest. I’m not going to lie, taking the first step isn’t always easy. Sometimes you have to take it afraid and sometimes you have to take it alone. However, in the long run, you’ll look back and realize it was all worth it.

Well, that’s all I have right now. Wishing you a fabulous week! Listen, life is too wonderful and too short to sit still and watch it pass by. Get moving. Take that first step!

Love you!♥️

A Friendly Reminder

Last year, I shared the following Facebook memory below under “Self-Love Saturday.”

Question: When was the last time you reminded yourself of how amazing you are? If it has been a while, stop what you are doing and do it now!

Never wait for others to recognize the greatness God has placed inside of you, or tell you that you are amazing. Just know that you are!

Facebook Memory: January 28, 2023

You are absolutely, undeniably AMAZING! Yes… I’m talking to YOU!♥️

Stay humble, now.😊

Hello Sunday

Know that you are safe in God’s hands.

There is a certain calmness and peace that comes with knowing we are in God’s hands. Not saying we will never experience the random anxiety, worry, or fear. However, when we do, it never lasts long.

Y’all, somehow, God has a way of dispatching His angels to comfort us at the exact right moments. When I tell you there is nothing comparable to His love, mercy, and grace. Listen, there is none like it!

Right now I am hearing the song, “Safe in His Arms,” by Rev. Milton Brunson & The Thompson Community Singers.

Safe in His Arms
Lyrics:
Musixmatch

Because the Lord is my shepherd
I have everything I need
He lets me rest in the meadow’s grass
And He leads me besides the quiet stream

He restores my failing hands [health]
And helps me to do what honors
That’s why I’m safe

That’s why I’m safe
That’s why I’m safe
Safe in His arms

When the storm of life is raging
And the billows roll
So glad He shall hide me
Safe in His arms

So glad, He shall hide me
Safe in His arms

Wishing a blessed Sunday. Rest in God knowing you are safe in His arms.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

You Control The Pen

Y’all, why did I fall asleep early only to wake up thinking it was at least 4:00 AM? Laughing. Since it’s after midnight I might as well share a post. Will write my Hello Sunday later. Good Night!♥️ ~ Shaun

Facebook Memory: January 28, 2022

It’s your story and your life. No one knows you better than you know yourself. Be sure to control and PROTECT your narrative. And ALWAYS keep the pen!

P.S. It’s perfectly fine to edit and rewrite. Remember, it’s YOUR story and YOUR life!

Always, always, always keep the pen! Never let anyone else write your story.♥️

Blessed & Favored By God

So many will settle for God’s blessings. However, I do not want His blessings without His favor.

According to Cambridge Dictionary, favor is defined as the support or approval of something or someone.

Listen, I love God’s blessings, and He gives them graciously; however, His approval is what I am seeking. Can’t you hear the Clark Sisters singing, “Blessed and Highly Favored”? I definitely can. Wishing you a beautifully, blessed day!♥️ ~Shaun

“Don’t take it for granted that we are here today. Just know that we’re blessed and highly favored.”

My Aquarius Baby

Honestly, I did not know what I would share today. I guess I am in my feelings. Today is my daughter’s 29th birthday and she’s over 300 miles away. It’s not like we have never celebrated from a distance before. Last year she was in New York. The year before, Miami. This year is just different.

I thought about getting on the road and going to surprise her. However, it’s raining here and raining there. Had to think about safety. Plus, we actually celebrated before she left. So why is today different?

Anyhoo…

I am so proud of the woman she has become. She is everything I hoped and dreamed for and sooo much more. I admire her strength, I adore her passion, and I respect her honesty. I also love the way she loves me. I never imagined being loved and cared for so deeply. Y,all, it still blows my mind that I am a mother. I am so looking forward to getting to know the woman she is becoming. Smiling

My Aquarius Baby – Independent (from birth), loyal, creative, visionary, strong willed, and straightforward. Yep… she’s my heart.♥️

Thank You, Lord

Friday morning praise and worship:

Singing🎶

Thank You, Lord
Thank You, Lord
Thank You, Lord
I just want to thank
You, Lord

You’ve been so good
You’ve been so good
You’ve been so good
I just want to thank
You, Lord

Flashback to when the rain was gone and the sun was shining. Grateful for both, the sun and the rain. Both are necessary for growth. However, I really prefer the sunshine. Don’t we all?☺️

Blessed!♥️

Kobe

Today is the day the world lost a basketball phenomenon, Kobe Bryant. Kobe was king on and off the court. His love for the game, his family, and life was top tier. Not too many could live life like Kobe lived his. Excellence in all areas of life was his real game. He is truly missed.♥️

Facebook Memory: January 26, 2021 (a year afterwards)

When I heard Kobe had passed, I thought it was fake news. I just knew he had more time with us. He was so young. And baby Gianna.😢 As my dad said when my brother died, God doesn’t make mistakes. I just wish my heart understood.💔 Kobe was notorious for living every moment of his life to its fullest. I admired his love for the game AND his family. So many can’t balance both, or don’t make an effort to, but he did.❤️❤️❤️

Listen, we never know if today will be our last (I pray not) so I believe we should live it as if it were. Y’all, we can’t keep saying, “I’ll do it tomorrow,” “I’ll take that opportunity the next time it comes around,” “I’ll do what I love doing after XYZ.” Honestly, you may not get a second chance. So make things happen, TODAY! You don’t have to have it all figured out, just put an effort towards doing it. Doing something is better than doing nothing. I love y’all.🙏🏽❤️

Here are a few of the photos I shared. Back in the 90s I was a huge basketball fan and collected basketball cards. As you can see I still have some of the card collectors magazines. I loved my cards.

The song I’m currently hearing is Tim McGraw’s, “Live Like You Were Dying.” Believe me, it’s not as sad as it sounds. It just makes you think about how you’re living or not living. You know, what’s truly important and what’s not as important as you believe. It puts so many things into perspective. Makes you want to live life to its fullest.

That’s all for now. Please take care of yourselves. Love you!♥️

It’s Already Handled

Earlier, someone liked a tweet I posted nearly eight years ago. Not sure how old tweets pop up because I never seem to see them, but evidently someone does. Here’s the tweet.

X (formerly known as Twitter): June 21, 2016

Looking back over the past eight years, so many things happened that could have destroyed my spirit, made me give up, made me settle, made me lose faith, yet here I am. I am still standing and moving forward. As people say, I am so glad I don’t look like what I have been through. God is so good and merciful.

Not sure what prompted me to make that post. Sometimes I just post what I feel or hear. Either way, I see that someone needed that message today.

Here’s what I will add today. God already knows the outcome of our situations. He knew before we even knew there would be one. Our job is to rest in Him while He takes us through whatever we need to go through to get to the other side. As I mentioned before, there were plenty of things that could have taken me out, but I am still here. I am so grateful I didn’t give up or give in. Y’all, God is so good!

Listen, don’t give up. God’s got you! You will get through this. Right now I am hearing this song we used to sing in church (there are different variations) — “How I got over. How I got over. My soul looks back and wonder, how I got over.” Amen

Have a blessed day! Love you!♥️

Put God First

Who can relate?

In difficult times, it seems easier to put God first. You know, that’s when we are deep in prayer so we are usually communicating with Him often. But, how about when times are good and everything is going well? Is He still first, or is He second, third, or even last to everything else?

A few years ago, I created a daily routine to ensure I put God first because I noticed when things were going well I did not spend as much time with Him as I did before. Now, don’t get me wrong I still said a quick prayer in the morning and acknowledged Him throughout my day; however, I stopped dedicating time to only Him. I would say I would get to it later, and sadly, later never came. Now, I intentionally set aside time. Y’all, so much is revealed during these times. It’s during these times that I actually feel closer to God. It’s when my faith is strengthened.

If you find yourself forgetting to prioritize God, maybe you should do as I did and create a plan where He is always first. Just a thought.

I am so grateful for my relationship with God.

Wishing you a wonderful day!♥️

Love you,

Shaun
