If you’d like to be a beacon of God’s love, start with compassion.🌺
On another note about an expression of God’s love, today I’m celebrating the 8th Anniversary of It’s Shaun’s World! Woohoo!!🎉
Grateful and blessed to have been here for eight years! I pray that throughout the years I have been an expression of God’s love and that I continue to be.
Thank you for supporting me over the years, giving me a safe space to grow, and for allowing me to BE. I truly, truly appreciate you!💕
“Moments of hope are found in the memories of smiles, the sounds of laughter, and stories of goodness. It’s those memories, and the anticipation of more like moments, that keep humanity alive. They keep hope alive.”
Today, if only for a moment, remember the smiles, the laughter, the good times, feelings of love, happiness, and joy. They’re not only experiences of the past but a glimpse of more like experiences to come. As songstress Maurette Brown Clark says, “It ain’t over until God says it’s over. Keep fighting until the victory is won…God has the final say.”
I’m beginning my day with joy and gratitude as I do every morning. Over the years, I’ve learned that Joy Grows with Gratitude. The more grateful I am, the more joyous I am.
God, thank You for waking me up this morning. For the rhythm of my heartbeat. For the ability to see, hear, breathe, walk, and think. These are things I often overlook because they happen so naturally. But I want You to know they’re not things I take for granted. I’m grateful to be here. Amen
What are you grateful for today?
Remember to start every morning with gratitude, and watch how your joy grows.♥️
**Had to tell myself this earlier. And guess what?! That thing I was stressing about was taken care of before I even addressed it. God had already worked everything out. #Blessed
Here’s a Self Love Saturday video I made for TikTok a couple of years ago. I said I could feel myself living in my dreams.
Although we speak as if our dreams are destinations, I believe they’re ongoing stories. It’s our mindset—and let’s be real, our circumstances, too—that tells us our dreams are far off. However, it’s not the dream that we’re waiting for, but the part of the dream we envisioned.
As I said in the video, “I’m already there. I don’t have to wait.” Smiling as I think about how I started doing things I envisioned myself doing when I reached the dream. I stopped waiting for the dream to happen and started living it. Eventually, I’ll see what I envisioned—in God’s time.☺️
Listen, the dream is happening. It’s happening every day from the moment you open your eyes to the time you fall asleep. You are living in your dream(s). You just haven’t reached the part you envisioned.
I dare you to start living like you’re already there. Believe me, you’ll be amazed by how your life changes!
This is it for now. I pray you have a beautiful day! Remember to do something extra special for yourself.♥️
Yesterday morning, I wondered what stories would be shared about me. Well, it didn’t take long for me to find out. A few hours after I shared yesterday’s post, “What Will My Story Be?”, the stories began, and the sharing didn’t end until after midnight.
As soon as I arrived at the family reunion venue, one of my uncles—who’s basically my twin (born a little over a week apart)—greeted me with, “Shaun, you remember when you used to…” Then, last night at my sister’s house, my sisters and cousin shared more stories with my daughter, oldest nephew, and oldest niece. When I tell you they soaked up those stories like sponges.🤭
All I can say is, I was Shaun.😂
Me and my sisters. Dorothy girls!
So, here’s what I gathered from their stories and what I know about myself:
I was never a quiet child. (I’m much calmer now, depending on who you ask.🤭)
I spoke my mind… I mean, voiced my opinions. (Still do, but more tactful now… depending on the situation😊—you might get Shaun or LaShaundrea or a version of both.🤷🏽♀️😂)
I was strong–willed. (Yeah… nothing’s changed.😂)
Just know my descendants will have many interesting stories to share about me.😅
Y’all, all while they were talking, I kept saying, “That was me then. I’m not that person anymore. Believe me, I’ve changed.” And they just laughed even harder.😂
Everyone is heading home today. Can’t wait until we meet up again. I love my family.💗
I hope your weekend has been great so far. Wishing you a beautiful Sunday and blessed week.♥️
Although life is like a roller coaster and has its ups and downs, always remain optimistic. As long as we live, there will be brighter days ahead—more brighter ones than not.♥️
No matter what comes or goes, stay with God. He will never give up on you, so don’t give up on Him.
Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
