Note To Self

From 2020–2021, I volunteered as a registered dietitian for the nonprofit Peace & Pearls Single Parent Support Network, Inc. I also created motivational messages/graphics for their social media platforms. As you can see, I shared this particular message on March 31, 2021. The messages were not only for the parents but they were also for me.🥰

Setbacks will happen. They are a part of life. But so are comebacks!

You got this!!♥️

My Journey With God, No. 80

When I tell you God KNOWS just what we need when we need it! I needed this message below to kick off today’s celebration.🎉

“Leave No Crumbs” by Sarah Jakes Roberts

Thank you, SJR!

Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts’ (SJR) words reminded me that I’m not who I used to be. I’m no longer the person I was ten years ago, not even a year ago (yeah…my life is transitioning fast). As she suggested in her message, the self-preservation method I was using before is no longer effective for where God is taking me. It’s time for me to let it go, stop resisting the change, and embrace the newest version of myself so I can move forward. I’ve been feeling this a lot lately. I just needed to hear it, and hear it clearly.

I’m listening, God! I’m ready for where you’re taking me!

Forever grateful and beyond blessed to experience and reside in God’s love.♥️

Lord, Guide Me

Good Morning☀️

Ten years ago, I ended my journal entry with, “Lord, please guide me.”

Ten years ago, my entire world changed. During the final days of March 2015, I experienced my greatest heartbreak but also my greatest relief. My ex-husband had finally moved out. That was the relief. However, the greatest heartbreak came from those I always thought would have my back but instead turned their backs on me.

Y’all, it’s been a very long ten years. Not only did I have to rebuild a life for me and my two (my hearts and rocks!), but I had to rebuild relationships. I’m not going to go into details, but just know that when I say I made it, believe me—I MADE IT!!!

I am forever indebted to God. I know I wouldn’t be here had it not been for Him. I am so grateful for His love, mercy, grace, kindness, patience and GUIDANCE. I asked for His guidance, and He answered.

Today, I’m celebrating.

Yes, I’m celebrating!

I made it!!🎉

Thank you so much for your love and continued support. I pray you have a beautifully, blessed day!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Protect Your Peace

This weekend, I was told that nothing seems to bother me and that I’m always calm. Well, if you read my post from yesterday, “Look At God,” you’d know that’s not entirely true. Things do bother me, but I have learned not to dwell on them and to keep moving. It’s called moving and living in a space of peace.

Here’s what I have learned over the years. Peace is not something you can buy, nor can it be masked and displayed for others to see. True peace happens within. There’s this calmness you feel inside—even when chaos surrounds you and your mind begins to worry (yes, it still happens—you’re human)—this deep peace within never wavers. That’s the peace I’m referring to. It’s that peace only God can give! Listen, once you have it, you’ll do whatever you must to protect it.

Protect your peace.♥️

Love you much,

Shaun

Hang In There

Here’s a little encouragement for today. Know that you WILL receive beauty for your ashes. Your tears and pain were not in vain. Love you!♥️ ~Shaun

When I shared this last year as a story, I added the song “Cry On” by Commissioned. Remember, “Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning time.”♥️
