Never Settle For Less

Facebook Memory: November 14, 2022

Have you ever settled because you were too anxious to wait? OR…because you believed that what you were offered was the best you could get? You know– “You better take what you can get.”

Nah! NEVER settle for less than what you desire. Believe me, you’re worth it and more!♥️

Don’t do it!

On another note…

TODAY IS MY BESTIES’ 50TH BIRTHDAY!!!!

Y’all, we have been friends since we were toddlers (2-3 years old). We also share the same name (Shaun & Shawn). How wild is that, especially since I was born in Mississippi and she was born in Chicago. Our mothers were never friends. We met through our grandparents who were neighbors. Most of our lives we lived in different places. I was always between Mississippi and Kansas and she was everywhere—Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee and Mississippi. Although we rarely saw each other outside of summer vacations, we kept in touch through letters. I am so grateful and blessed to have her in my life.

Divine connection. This is our Year50!!!

Hello Sunday

I believe I will make the following Facebook memory my screensaver. I am finishing up two papers that are due by the end of the day, and I need the encouragement.

Facebook Memory: November 12, 2022

YOU were born to WIN! I love you and God loves you too. Have a blessed day!♥️

I was born to WIN, and so were you!

On another note, so many exciting things are happening this week! Besides this being the final day of this term (Woohoo!), two of my besties are turning 50 this week. One has a birthday tomorrow, November 13th, and the other on Tuesday, November 14th (friends since age 2 –♥️). Then on Friday, November 17th, a documentary about my fave (added the “e” for those who cringe when I write “fav”), Mr. Tyler Perry, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video – Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story. Woohoo!

This is going to be some week!♥️

The Wait

Facebook Memory: November 4, 2022

Be patient. Everything will happen at its appointed time.♥️

It will happen.

No matter how long you have waited, keep waiting. It is better to wait for God’s best than settle for less and then try to mold what you settled for into God’s best. It doesn’t work that way. I don’t know about you, but I would rather wait for God’s best knowing that everything He has for me is only for me. Yes… ONLY for me.

My advice—be patient and wait on God. Allow Him to lead. He hasn’t forgotten about you. Remember, He is always working and everything will happen when it is time. Believe me, nothing or no one can stop it.

Love you!♥️

Shaun

You Got This: Keep Going

Facebook Memory: November 3, 2016

In 1992, my goal was to help end world poverty. Carol Moseley Braun was my inspiration. I had so many goals. When you’re young you tend believe that you have all the answers. Well, poverty is still here and will always be here. My goal is to help improve the quality of life of those living in poverty. I may not be able to save them, but I can help them.

Oh, I also wanted to be the Surgeon General of the United States. Boy did I have goals!😊

Carol Moseley Braun – First Black woman elected to the United States Senate (1992). In 1999, she became the Ambassador of the United States to New Zealand and Samoa.

Transparent moment…

My decision to return to school was not one that I made rashly. I know myself, and I know that this would have been something that would have hung over my head for years. I would have been okay with not finishing; however, I also would have wondered what would have been had I finished.

Today, I have a little over one week left in this term. I am mentally drained and a little discouraged. I am doing well, but not my best (yeah… I know this). I needed to see this memory today. I needed to be reminded of my “why.” I can do this!

That’s all for today. I may or may not make a second post today. Praying you have a wonderful weekend.

Be Blessed!♥️

Shaun
