God’s Got Us: Keep Going!

And we did finish strong!🙏🏽

I guess we could say the same about how 2025 has begun; however, instead of saying weird, I would say extremely intense. Hopefully, things are coming down a bit. Either way, it’s just good to know God’s got us. He kept us through all of the craziness of last year and will keep us this year. Stay in prayer, and by all means, stay covered. Don’t you dare step out without God!♥️

Love you,

Take Chances

Good Morning☀️

Since it’s Friday and January 31, I thought I’d share my Facebook memory from Friday, January 31, 2020.

This is the social media find I was referring to. Image credit: Unknown

That was five years ago. Boy, does time fly! Since then, I have taken more chances than I can name. At that time, my brother, who was my same age, had just died. A few months before he died, he had finally quit a job he had hated for years and ventured out on his own. Y’all, after he died, there was no way I was going to keep missing opportunities. I was serious about living without regrets. Now, I’m not saying all of the chances I took were successful because they surely weren’t; however, at least I tried.

Listen, take chances. Even if people look at you sideways or think you’re the craziest person in the world, take them. Maybe you’ll be successful at some, maybe not. At least you won’t live with the regret of not trying.

Well, this is all I have at the moment. Thank you for reading. I pray you have a wonderful day and blessed weekend.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Good Morning☀️

Question: What brings you joy?

Me: Seeing my two hearts (my daughter and son) smile, laugh, and enjoy life.🥰🥰

Also, knowing that you are alive and well brings me joy.♥️

My Journey With God, No. 56

You know how one thing leads to or is connected with another? Well, I was looking at photos from January 29, 2023—pictures of my mom—and saw the screenshot below. This led me to check and see what I had posted on that date. Honestly, I wasn’t ready for what I had written.

Probably took the screenshot because 6-24 is my birthday. Seeing that number always makes me smile.

Hello Sunday”– January 29, 2023

I keep asking myself why I have to be so strong. Why me? I’m tired of being strong alone. JOURNAL ENTRY, JANUARY 29, 2015

In the same entry, I added a quote from Joel Osteen –

“Negative, defeated thoughts will drain your energy. You wouldn’t be facing it if you couldn’t handle it. You’re anointed for this — God would not have allowed it if you weren’t ready for it and equal to it.”

That “I’m tired of being strong alone,” seems to be the story of my life. However, just like Joel said, I wouldn’t be facing it if I couldn’t handle it. Honestly, I’m beginning to believe that being strong alone is my super power. Hmmm…

Anyhoo… I’m going to visit my mom today! This time I’m taking her dog, Nala. I know they will be happy to see each other.

Well, that’s all I have to share today. Y’all, life is one big adventure, let’s make sure we make the best of it.♥️

“Honestly, I’m beginning to believe that being strong alone is my super power.”

I don’t like that statement. I’m not meant to be strong alone. No one is.

One thing is true, though, life is one big adventure. And I do plan to make the best of it.♥️ ~Shaun

Great Reminder

Here’s a reminder for you and me both. You (we) are already prepared and equipped for this specific moment.

You’ve got this!

That First Step

Good Morning☀️

I believe taking the first step towards doing anything new or uncomfortable is probably the most difficult step you’ll ever take. However, if you never take the step, you’ll never know where it could possibly lead you. As I said three years ago, “Sometimes you have to take it afraid, and sometimes you have to take it alone. However, in the long run, you’ll look back and realize it was worth it.”

Believe me, taking that first step is so worth taking. Don’t sit and wonder what could happen—find out!

God’s got you!

I pray you have a beautifully, blessed day.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

My Journey With God, No. 55

Twenty-six (almost 27) years ago, I wrote the following in my journal—

“When I blew out my candles, I made a simple wish and that was to be happy for the next 25 years, and even happier afterwards.”

Well…

Five years ago, I asked myself if I was fulfilling that wish. The answer to that question back then (in 2020), and still is to this day, is “Yes.” Overall, my life is much happier than when I was 25. In 1998, I had so much going on. I was a single mom living abroad with a little one while trying to figure out life for us both. Then, a few months later, my mom had an incident (never found out what happened) that caused her to be paralyzed (paraplegia) for the rest of her life.

Don’t get me wrong. Today, every day isn’t all smiles and laughter; however, I’m never depressed. I was really depressed back then. After making my wish on my 25th birthday, I tried my best to make myself happy. I had been to therapy before, so I knew how to cope. However, it wasn’t until God stepped in and I began allowing Him to lead that I became truly happy. Y’all, God is so good. True happiness cannot be created. It happens organically and comes from within. When I celebrate life by saying, “I made it!” this is what I mean.

I’m forever grateful for God’s love, mercy, and grace. Y’all, I‘m blessed.♥️ ~ Shaun
