For Purpose & Growth

Embrace where you are at this current moment. No, it’s not where you are meant to stay. It’s where you need to be for a specific purpose as well as for growth. Find out what you can glean from this experience.♥️ ~ Shaun

Stand still and take it all in.

There are so many things I’m still perplexed about after so many years. I’m finally learning that I do not have to have all of the answers right now. That it’s okay not knowing it all or seeing the full picture. My job right now is to make the best of where I am and be of service to others. I also understand that my current experiences are fuel for growth. Yes, I’m learning.

On another note:

I tweeted last night during the season finale of one of my favorite shows, Tyler Perry’s The Oval. It felt so good to tweet again. However, my experience wasn’t the same as before. Y’all, it was better! You see, I used to tweet to make sure the show trended. Not sure why I felt it was my responsibility to do that, but I did. Crazy, huh?! This time it was about chatting and enjoying conversations with fellow watchers.

Tonight, I have another season finale to watch, Tyler Perry’s Sistas. Now y’all know this one’s my favorite! No, I’m not going to tweet during this one. I have found my place and space for chatting in our We Are Sistas group. Don’t have to worry about trends, numbers, etc. It’s my happy space on Sistas Wednesdays. By the way, that guy Aaron – the accountant/preacher – has a few skeletons in his closet, and I love it! He was just a tad bit too clean… too nice… too perfect. With that being said, I do believe people can change, and maybe he has; but, you can’t tell me he’s been squeaky clean his entire life. There had to be some drama at some point in his life. Ain’t nobody that perfect!

Anyhoo… Let me get my day started. Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday and a fabulous rest of the week.

Wednesday Writings: Celebrating 100 Episodes of Tyler Perry’s Sistas

Hello. Hello. Helloooo!!!

Guess what?! Today marks the 100th episode of Tyler Perry’s Sistas!! Yessss!! Three years. Five seasons. 100 episodes! Pretty awesome, right?!

Y’all, I’m so happy for the cast. They have worked their butts off over the past three years. Honestly, I have never seen a cast that has been more engaged than this one. Their enthusiasm and appreciation for everything they have gained over the past three years is so authentic. And y’all, their love for their fans is unmatched! They LOVE their fans!!

Listen, I don’t care what anyone says about Tyler Perry’s extremely rare work ethicsno other bears gifts– intangible gifts – like he does. Baby, not only does he create great shows that keep us talking for days, months and years, he also creates families. Yes, families! As past cast members have said, by the time they finish filming they are so much more than colleagues, they are family. Y’all, that’s why I can’t stop supporting this man. He gets it. He gets the bigger picture! He knows how to bring people together. That’s a gift – a beautiful gift – and I love it!♥️

Anyhoo… got to stay on point. Laughing

Y’all, last night I was having all kinds of proud momma moments for the ladies and they aren’t even my babies. I couldn’t stop looking at their Instagram stories. The 100th episode celebration that they were given was EPIC! I could not stop watching. I loved seeing their smiles. So genuine. So appreciative. Listen, I remember where they were three years ago, and I see where they are now. Y’all, God’s work is amazing!

So, last year I gave up tweeting during the shows. Yeah.. I felt old trying to hang with the younger tweeters. Now, I’m chatting in our We Are Sistas Facebook group, which is more my speed, and I love it! However, yesterday, after seeing all of the excitement, I thought about tweeting again, just one more time, to help them celebrate. We shall see what happens. Smiling

Well, that’s all I have for you this Wednesday! Hope you have a spectacular day!!

Wednesday

Tonight’s the season premiere of one of my favorite shows– Tyler Perry’s Sistas! Woohoo… Y’all, I’ve been excited for weeks– interacting with Sistas’ social media accounts, watching videos, answering questions and sharing posts. Then last night my allergies started bothering me so I took some allergy medicine. This morning I woke up feeling blah. I was up all night blowing my nose. I’m so sad because I wanted to fully indulge in all the season premiere festivities but I feel horrible. Think I’ll eat breakfast and take a nap. Hopefully I’ll feel better before my show airs this evening. I just cannot not tweet during the season premiere. I just can’t! Lol

I’m going to leave you with a blog I wrote several months ago. It’s about my favorite character, Aaron. Y’all, he is the man I believed him to be. Smiling

It’s My Tweet Night

It’s Wednesday, my tweet night! Y’all, I just love live tweeting during my shows. There’s nothing like reading people’s reactions to different scenes…

It’s My Tweet Night

P.S. If you would like to tweet with us during tonight’s show use the hashtag #SistasOnBET. It airs tonight on BET at 9 p.m. Eastern time.

Please forgive any gibberish or typos. Let’s just call it “typing while drowsy.” I’ve attempted to edit it but I probably haven’t done a great job. Lol!

Enjoy your day!

It’s My Tweet Night

It’s Wednesday, my tweet night! Y’all, I just love live tweeting during my shows. There’s nothing like reading people’s reactions to different scenes in real time, you know, before they actually have time to process what happened. Some people analyze scenes based on reality or cinematography, while others just watch for pure entertainment (that would be me!). Listen, I love the far-fetched storylines and scenes that seem to drive so many crazy. I guess it’s because they remind me of some of my crazy dreams. Baby, my dreams are very entertaining! Anyway, with that said, all of the storylines aren’t unbelievable, most depict real life situations. Believe me, some have evoked feelings and emotions I thought I had long buried. But don’t worry, I’m not writing about those today– they’re way too intense. I plan to keep this one light. Today’s blog is about one of my favorite characters on Tyler Perry’s Sistas.

Aaron is his name. The only reason I’m writing about Aaron is because, in my opinion, his character is the most genuine. However… so many don’t like him. Yes, he’s had a bit of a controversial past. I mean, his ex-wife committed suicide because he divorced her. I know, seems pretty dark, but there’s more to the story. At first, I thought he was a little harsh– hmm.. now I’m sounding like Andi describing Gary, who’s abusive and in Aaron’s anger management group…

Y’all know what, I’ll have to save this “think piece,” as my daughter would call it, for some other time. After having my “Andi” moment, I’m beginning to think I’m the one who’s delusional. Maybe Aaron isn’t the person I think he is. Who I want him to be. Have I been bamboozled? Am I only seeing what I want to see? Please say it ain’t so!!

I’ll write more about Aaron after I see a few more episodes. Fingers crossed that he really is the guy I think he is. We need at least one level-headed, genuine guy on the show who’s not afraid to be vulnerable or constantly trying to prove himself. I believe Preston and Maurice also fall into this category. I would say, “but they’re not my type.” However, I can’t do it without laughing because smart butt Maurice would come back with, “You not my type either!!” Lol!

Listen, if you’re looking for a good show to watch, check out #SistasOnBET. I would love your feedback about Aaron. Like, for real. One day I’m going to start dating again and he’s definitely my type. I want to make sure I’m not overlooking red flags. Help a sista out!

As always, thanks for reading!
