I tend to give people a lot of grace because I know people be peopleing (yeah, I know it’s not a word—I’m peopleing. Smile). You never know if someone is having a bad day so they come off as rude or unapproachable; or maybe that’s just their demeanor, but they are still good people. Listen, I have relatives who will cuss you out and love on you in the same breath. I also have some that will treat you like you’re the best thing walking and tear you down when you’re out of sight. Yes, I have seen it all. They just be peopleing. (Smile) So, for me, first impressions don’t really mean anything. It’s a person’s actions and character the majority of the time that shows me who they truly are. People can hide who they are some of the time but not all the time.

If you’re not privy to someone’s daily life, trust your instincts. Do not keep overriding them. If something does not feel right, it’s probably not right. If something seems off, it probably is. Stay covered. Believe me, when you stay covered, God will keep you protected.

And yes, this message is definitely for me too. I tend to extend too much grace. For some reason, I believe there is good in everyone. It just baffles me that some people intentionally set out to use, misuse, abuse and hurt others. Just writing this seems unreal. Thankful for God’s protection.

Hopefully this wasn’t too dark. Didn’t mean for it to be. Praying you have a wonderful Sunday and fabulous week. And remember to be kind. I really wish there was a way we could add more kindness to the world.

I am most grateful to be alive. Grateful that I have another chance to love on my babies; another chance to experience something exciting and new (why am I hearing the Love Boat theme song—smile); another chance to accept or decline opportunities; another chance to make better decisions; another chance to live…to really live.

Of course I am grateful for so much more…including YOU! Thank you for taking the time to drop in and read my posts. I truly appreciate you.♥️

Smile, It Happened and Is Still Happening

Life is forever evolving and changing. Instead of crying over what was, smile because it was. Smile because you had the opportunity to experience it. Then, smile even bigger because you now have the opportunity to experience something even greater.

Facebook Memory: January 11, 2019

Happy Friday! Here’s today’s social media find. So, I’ve been reading old journal entries from 20+ years ago and reminiscing about the good old days (BTW: Today’s MJB’s birthday🎉). It’s amazing how time flies. If I could go back, I would definitely handle some situations and relationships differently. There were people in my past I wish I would have kept in touch with (grateful for FB reconnections 🤗). There were opportunities that I let slip away because I thought I was “oh so” brilliant 🤷🏽‍♀️ or because of fear. Either way, I lived and learned. One thing for sure, I can’t continue to look back on what could’ve, should’ve, would’ve, or might’ve happened. I can only look forward and enjoy the present ride.

I’m truly grateful for all of my wonderful experiences, whether they lasted for years or only a few seconds (that smile did something to me 😉).

Make the best of every moment. Don’t spend too much time thinking about how the story could’ve ended or will end. Enjoy the here and now.

Yes, it happened and it is still happening. Stay present and embrace the beauty of what’s happening now.

Just because a particular experience ended doesn’t mean something new is not already happening. God is forever working even when we cannot see it or feel it. Remember that every new day brings new opportunities and experiences. If we continue to dwell on what was, we will miss the beauty of what’s happening now. So, keep smiling. Our story is far from over. The best is yet to come!♥️

Y’all, I am still here. YOU are still here. What a blessing! No matter what we have been through, currently going through, or eventually will encounter, we have soooo much to be thankful for.

Only Two Weeks Left in 2023

Y’all, we are only two weeks away from the glorious 2024! Yes, I am referring to it as glorious because 6/24 is my birthday month as well as my 51st birthday. How cool is that! Looking forward to every wonderful thing God has planned for me. It’s going to be a great year!

There is nothing comparable to God’s love, mercy, and grace. He’s so amazing.

Y’all, self-love is everything, but God’s love will always, always, always reign supreme. I just love the way He loves me. If you do not already have a strong relationship with God, I suggest you build one. There is absolutely nothing like it—nothing like it! I cannot stress it enough, I am truly blessed.

Praying you have a peacefully, blessed week. Whatever goals you set for 2023 can still happen! Don’t let the countdown to the new year stop you from achieving as much as you can. You got this!

Thankful for family time. I’m blessed.

Giving thanks for my two hearts!♥️♥️ Y’all, they really know how to brighten my day. We just watched Good Burger 2 together (not as good as the original but still good), and we are planning to play video and/or board games later. Loving this time with them.
