It’s In The Knowing

It’s in the knowing. Not only knowing who you are or who you are not, but who’s in control. Below is a reblog of last year’s post.

Last year I was on a mission to make this side of 50 different from the previous 50 years. At the time, I thought by abruptly ending certain behaviors life would be different, and it was to a certain extent. However, that was only physically and mentally. Then, the pruning began. Now, the pruning process was all spiritual and seemed to have lasted forever. The change I thought could happen at the flip of a switch actually took months. I thought for sure I was being torn apart, but I knew that in the end the process was remaking and remolding me so that this side of 50 would definitely be different. For that, I am forever grateful.

My advice for if you ever find yourself being pruned, don’t resist it. Release control and allow God to do whatever He’s going to do. I promise you life will be so much easier when you do. Love you.♥️ ~ Shaun

Here’s what I wrote last year, “I know who I am because I finally understand, and have accepted, who I am not.” Little did I know, I still had a long way to go. That pruning was a beast!

Worthy

Repeat after me—

“I am worthy of all good things. I am worthy of God’s best. I am walking in my worth. I am walking in goodness.”

Yes, you are worthy of all good things. Never doubt your worth. Love you!♥️

Walk in it.

Keep Watering Your Dreams

You may become weary. You may become tired. You may even throw in the towel (but God throws it back) several times because you cannot see your seeds growing. No matter the case, do not give up. Your seeds are growing. Soon you’ll see your dreams come to fruition. Keep watering them.♥️ ~ Shaun

What good is a dream if it’s kept buried and unattended? Not much, right?

Water and nurture your dreams, then watch them grow.🌱🌸

Smile. The roots had to grow first.

Trust The Process, Part 2

Meant to share yesterday’s message, “Watch God Work,” by Pastor Don Johnson, with you last night. When I tell you it was powerful!! The entire service was powerful.

First, it started with the announcement of Dr. Joel Tudman becoming the Assistant Senior Pastor at The Faith Center in Florida. He was previously an associate pastor at The Potter’s House, and now he’s off to fulfill his vision.

Listening to Bishop T. D. Jakes’ recount of the years of hard work, struggle, and sacrifice Dr. Tudman put in to get to his vision had me thinking about my own journey. It’s like God shows you the vision, but not the process. He doesn’t tell you that you have to put in a crazy amount of work to get to it. And y’all, the work isn’t easy. It isn’t just physically taxing but mentally and emotionally, as well. At least, for me it is. Anyway, it was the encouragement I needed to keep going. The process is only making me stronger. Eventually I will see my vision realized.

Here’s what I shared on X while watching Bishop Jakes pour into Dr. Tudman.

Trusting the process. I will see my vision come to fruition. (UN)

As I mentioned, the entire service was powerful. But I guess you could say, the message was the icing on the cake! I felt like God had brought Pastor Johnson in to personally pour into me. Whew!!

Here’s Pastor Johnson’s message, “Watch God Work” (if you know me, you know I love watching God work and baby I am a work in progress!):

One word—Chosen.

I believe this will be my second post for today. Nothing at 10:30 AM (CST). My routine has been off the last several days which has thrown my schedule off. I promise to get back on track soon. Asking for grace.🙏🏽☺️

Praying you have a blessed rest of the day. Be sure to do something nice for yourself to mark the first day of this beautifully blessed month. Love you!♥️

The Transition

Five years ago today, I wrote, “Transitioning to something new,” and now I can’t help but laugh at how naive I was. I used to think that I would become the person I wanted to be overnight and that I would live the next 25 to 50 years as the finished product. HA! Little did I know that transition is an ongoing process and it takes time. You have to go through challenges, learn from them, and then go through even more. If you want to keep growing and reaching your full potential, the process of evolving never stops. Don’t know about you, but I want to keep evolving until my final breath.

Here’s what I shared on June 29, 2019:

Still excited by the transition. I am forever in awe of God’s work. Loving the woman I have become and looking forward to meeting the woman I am becoming.♥️

Nothing Can Stop God’s Plan

Nothing and/or No One can stop God’s plan for your life. Nope. Not at all. Everything will work out in your favor, even those things that seem impossible. Now, breathe and trust God. He’s got you.

Love you!♥️

Push Through

You got this!

Push through feelings of awkwardness, anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. Push through insecurities, thoughts of inferiority, and feelings of shame. Push through the setbacks, disappointments, feelings of abandonment, and heartaches. Push through the anger, sadness, and loneliness. Push through until you make it to the other side. I can attest that it will not be easy, but it will be so worth it.

Oh… While you are pushing, make sure you are also praying. Prayer and continuous communication with God will sustain you once you get there.

Praying you have a beautifully, blessed day.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Purpose Part 3

Decided to continue my Purpose series (didn’t know it would become one). For years, I have known what my purpose was/is; however, I have never known how to fully embrace it. My purpose is connected to my dreams and part of my DNA, and there are people attached to them.

Here is another Facebook memory (had so many gems today, some I shared elsewhere):

Facebook Memory: June 8, 2019

Happy Saturday! Here’s today’s social media find. Progress IS progress. Encourage others, but also encourage yourself. It’s true, we’re usually our own worst critic. Just because you’re not where you thought you’d be by now, doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.

This is where journals come in handy. Journals allow us to look back and see how far we’ve actually come. Believe me, if you’re better off than you were a year ago (like me 🙋🏽‍♀️), then you’re making progress. So cut yourself some slack. You’re doing great! Remember, God is working!!

It’s definitely been slow, but continuous. Had a few setbacks but I kept going, and will keep going. Photo Credit: Unknown

This was my first time serving as President-Elect. Beyond grateful for second chances. I had so much more to give, so much more to do. Listen, even when you have given up on your dreams, God has not given up on you. Your purpose is much too great for you not to keep going.

Love you,

Shaun

Maturing, Growing, Evolving, and Becoming

Here’s another gem from my Facebook memories. Y’all, when I wrote it, I had no idea I would ask God to make this side of 50 different. Thought I only needed to tweak a few things. Yeah, that was before the Year50 purge. (Now I can laugh.) But God knew!

As Bishop T. D. Jakes said—please read the blog below for the full impact—“You cannot be who you’re going to be and who you used to be, at the same time.”

Facebook Memory: June 8, 2022

I cannot become who I’m meant to be and be the same person I used to be, at the same time. Wouldn’t be honoring God if I did.

Maturing
Growing
Evolving
Becoming Me

Y’all, if I wanted this side of 50 to be different, I had to intentionally make it different. And that last sentence in my caption. Whew! I would not have been honoring God had I remained the same. Loving this space I am in.♥️

Side note: I am torn between sticking to my schedule of sharing my second post ~ 10:30 AM and posting right after I write. What do you think? Should I stick to my schedule or ditch it and post freely? Today, I’m ditching the schedule because it’s my birthday month!☺️🎉

Life

Purpose Part 2

Listen, I am on a roll today!! Usually, I try to suppress and/or contain my energy because sometimes it can be a little too much. But today I am on a 10, maybe 20! A short while ago, after I shared my last post, I saw a reel by motivational speaker, Trent Shelton (sharing it below). Here’s what I wrote when I reshared it:

One of the REALIST posts ever!🥺 This is what it looks like when you’re fulfilling your purpose. Encouragement is in Trent Shelton’s DNA. It’s who he is.

Side note: No matter how much you try to separate who you are from your God-given purpose/calling, it won’t happen. Believe me, it will keep showing up. So you might as well embrace it. Just like with Trent, it’s in your DNA.

Listen, when you KNOW what your purpose is, when you KNOW who you are, embrace it! Forget trying to fit someone else’s narrative. That’s not you. You are who you are—it’s in your DNA. You (we, including myself) will only be able to live life fully when you embrace and walk in your God-given purpose.

Boo, it’s time to live!♥️
