Seven Days

Good Morning!☀️

I’m hoping all is well with you.🌸

The final week of my birthday countdown is here! Seven days until Year52!

I smiled when I saw this Facebook memory. I remember how excited I was. I couldn’t wait to celebrate my 50th birthday, my jubilee year. Smiling because that was some year! Whew! Little did I know that my jubilee year would actually be my “tried in the fire” year. Soooo… did I come out of the fire as pure gold?

Hmmm… I’m still being refined.☺️

That year, I learned I needed to take better care of myself. I needed to put myself first to become a better, stronger version of my former self, especially if I wanted to live fifty more years. It was so necessary! I’m smiling because the pruning I went through had to be done. I needed to let go of so much of my former self to fully embrace the person I am today. Y’all, I like this version of myself better. This version of Shaun even breathes differently. As I said in the memory above, I am truly blessed.

I pray you have one of your best days yet! You deserve it!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Deborah, if you’re reading this today, HAPPY 69TH BIRTHDAY!!! Thank you for your unwavering support, kindness, love, and prayers. May your day and year be filled with an abundance of love, joy, peace, and laughter.🌸💕🙏🏽

Finding Peace In The Midst Of Storms

Where’s your focus? Is it on the storm or is it on God?

If you focus on the storm, chaos, or problems around you, you will never find the peace you seek. You have to intentionally shift your focus to God. That’s where you will find peace.

As many of us have found, shifting our focus is not always easy, especially when problems seem to be coming from every direction. However, when we take a moment to calm ourselves and pray, we begin to feel the peace of God ease in. Eventually, we find ourselves at peace.

I pray you have found peace, despite the storms.♥️

Love you always,

Shaun

Just Asking

Do you believe in what you’re believing for?

The first step is to believe in what you are believing for. The next is knowing that you will have it. The final step is obtaining it.

The goal is to get from believing to obtaining.

Where are you in the process of having what you’re believing for?

Just asking.♥️

Love you,

Shaun

Faith

Good Morning☀️

How are you?

I truly hope you’re doing well.🌸

Last night, I watched the BET Awards. I’m not sure how others felt while watching it, but this year’s ceremony seemed different—not necessarily different in a bad way, but in an eerily good way. Maybe it was because they were celebrating BET’s 45th Anniversary and I’m old enough to remember what I was doing 45 years ago, or because they celebrated a few 90s music icons who are all around my age. Hmm…

When I think about it, it felt more like a family reunion where one generation was passing the torch to another—and I happen to be in that generation of torch passers. Overall, the entire event was very emotional and felt more significant than past awards shows. If I could sum it up, I would say the mood was, “We are all we’ve got.”

There was one quote that stood out last night that I am still feeling the importance of this morning—

“Don’t let your worry be greater than your faith.” – Tyler Perry

Let that sink in…

Our faith must be stronger than our worries. It’s the only way we are going to make it. It’s the only way we have made it.

I pray you have a wonderfully blessed day. May it be filled with lots of love, peace, joy, and laughter.

On another note …

I will be 52 in two weeks!🎉

Yesterday, it dawned on me that I could have been counting down the weeks from the day I turned 51. My theme could have been “52 in 52 Weeks!”

By the way, besides dropping gems of wisdom, my fav just dropped another hit series on us, “Divorced Sistas”! It’s streaming on BET+. Check it out!

Okay… I’m done. Please take care of yourself and live life to the fullest. Don’t take a second for granted. Not one.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Three More Weeks!

I’m almost 52!!☺️✨🥰

Lately, I have been intentionally stepping outside my comfort zone, doing new things, and meeting new people. I’m absolutely loving this space over 50. I will be 52 in exactly three weeks.

God is so good.

I am truly, truly blessed.🥰
