I Had To Rest My Mind

Good Morning☀️ and Happy Wednesday!

Y’all, I have gotten more rest in one day than I have this entire year! No joke. On Monday, I accepted that I must put myself first—not second or third, but FIRST! I am my only priority. Then, yesterday, I rested. And not like I had been resting before. Nothing like what I’ve done previously. I’m laughing because I actually cleaned my house and did laundry. The rest I needed wasn’t physical; it was mental. I needed to rest my mind. I didn’t listen to any podcasts, or watch any spiritual or motivational videos. I put on a random show, downloaded a random game on my phone, and did housework in between playing the game and watching the show. I also responded to a few emails. But I didn’t even check my email until sometime yesterday afternoon. Oh! And I also said a few no’s. No’s without the guilt—the guilt I would typically place on myself.

Yesterday, I broke free from the box I’d put myself in. Sometimes, we create our own stress—lol, and I was definitely creating some of mine.

Yesss… yesterday, I set myself FREE!

Here’s to me doing better and being better, because I matter to ME!🎉

By the way, I retired my “Quote of the Day” posts. There’s still a quote, but it’s now part of my daily inspiration message.

If you’re like me, with hundreds of ideas floating around in your head and unsure where to begin, ask God for clarity and guidance. Then, allow Him to walk you through the process. From experience, it may not always be the process you’d like to go through, but in the end, it will be worth it. I’m sure of this.

Again, it’s Self-Love Saturday! Do something that makes your heart smile and future self proud.♥️

I’m really not sure why this song is lingering so long. As I said in my last post about it, I’m going to let it be. Maybe it’s God’s way of reassuring me that His presence is with me. Which leads me to today’s message— “Lean Into God.”

When you find yourself feeling uncertain about your next move(s), lean into God.

A New Song

Good Morning!☀️

Today, I’m singing a new song! Yes, a new song! Smile

For those who haven’t been following my posts lately, Byron Cage’s song “Breathe” was stuck in my head for over a week. I’m not sure when I stopped hearing it because I was definitely hearing it when I woke up yesterday morning. However, today, I’m singing a new song, which I’m pretty sure was inspired by today’s messages—God’s goodness.

Without further ado, the song of the hour is CeCe Winans’ “Goodness of God.” The part of the song that resonates with me most is—

Y’all, it’s true. From the moment that I wake up until I go to sleep, I am always thinking about God’s goodness surrounding me. This doesn’t mean I don’t feel pain, hurt, or have disappointments—because I’m human and do—but it means that I always manage to see God’s goodness. Many times I see it in the smallest things—things we often take for granted, like our senses—the ability to see, hear, smell, touch, and taste. Right now, I hear a little birdie singing and an owl hooting somewhere in the distance. Side note: If you haven’t noticed, I love hearing birds sing. I also love hearing roosters crow—something I miss about being in the country.

Anyhoo… I was about to get side tracked. But yeah, I’m hearing and singing a new song. At least for the moment.

Put Up or Shut Up

Happy Monday!☀️

You see the title, right?

Listen, God will check you in the most beautiful way ever. He’ll call you out and leave no room to doubt that He’s doing so. And it’s always from a space of love.

Today, God is calling me out. I have to “put up or shut up.” People I care about are watching my next moves, and I cannot afford to play small. So much is riding on how I handle this situation.

My goal is to build bridges, not burn them.

Guess what?!

Like clockwork. As soon as I opened my eyes I heard, “This is the air I breathe…” Smile

So you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to let the song (“Breathe” by Byron Cage—details in past posts) be. I’m not going to wish it away. Instead, I’m going to embrace it and allow God’s holy presence to surround me and flow through me.

Today, I encourage you to do the same. Breathe in God’s presence. Allow it to surround and flow through you. Believe me, there’s absolutely nothing like it.

I really didn’t know what to title this post because I didn’t want to do a third part of “Air I Breathe.” But here I am still writing about the song I’ve been waking up to, hearing throughout the day, and falling asleep to for a week now. Today’ I’m sharing the lyrics to the entire song. Maybe once I get it out, I won’t hear it anymore. Don’t get me wrong, the song isn’t a bad song or annoying. Honestly, it’s actually quite soothing. But I would really like to hear something else.

So the song title is actually “Breathe.”🤷🏽‍♀️ As I mentioned before, the song is really soothing. It’s a nice, slow-paced worship song. However, I would really like to hear something else if it’s God’s will. I had to add this caveat because I don’t want to speak against God’s will. Amen

Good Morning☀️ and Happy Thursday!

This morning, I spent a little time traveling down memory lane (scrolling through photos on my phone😊). It’s incredible how quickly time passes when so many experiences fit into certain timeframes. What I once considered “passing time” was anything but passive. Even though I couldn’t see it then, life was always moving. I was always moving. Now I see how different events and experiences shaped who I am today. It’s truly amazing. God was definitely working in my life.

Here’s a post I shared five years ago. Looking back, I can truly say my best days have far outweighed the bad. Feeling blessed.

I know sometimes you may feel as if you’re standing still and life just isn’t moving. But it is definitely moving, and in your favor (I truly believe this). Just take a scroll down memory lane and intentionally look for the good, only the good. I promise you, you’ll see how life, in some shape, form, or fashion, is so much better than before.

Remember—only look for the good.
